Invega weight gain

Common Questions and Answers about Invega weight gain

invega

Avatar m tn Weight gain is a known side effect of Invega. The second concern you mentioned is a potentially rare adverse side effect of Invega. It would be essential to call these concerns to the attention of your psychiatrist so they could see what the potential cause was and decide what the appropriate follow up was within their professional discretion.
20914619 tn?1637171288 I think things like weight gain that happens can be a judgement call. Is the weight gain worth the feeling better with the mental health disorder? Can I do 'anything' that can offset the weight? But you describe more which is that you are having depression. THAT you must talk to your doctor about.
Avatar n tn I started to take invega because risperidone was making me gain a lot of weight. I changed but I can't lose that weight. I was already taking sertraline I still take it. I stopped having my period when on invega and Pregnancy is not on the table already done the test. Can anyone help me?
Avatar f tn I can’t concentrate sometimes and weight gain along with prolactin due to enlarged breast is a concern. Some websites are saying their have been no withdrawals from invega reported. hard finding a psychiatrist for new diagnoses also. I have been diagnosed with F20.9, F84.0,Z91.89 Z65.9 if you can find the codes. The only concern is somewhat hallucinations but I know caffeine can cause some like whispers or something.
Avatar m tn they do know about the myriad of horrifying side effects though - and i know from plenty of personal experience - i gain so much weight but i lack the motivation or drive to work it off (if its even possible to? - haven't seen it yet that's for sure!) the real worry is the long term damage is unknown? i think we'll all be writing the textbooks of the future regarding that one!. so i really want to hear if medication really helps any of you?
Avatar f tn However each person responds differently to each medication and it depends on what your psychiatrist is trying to treat. The main concerns I had with that were sedation and weight gain and those are not uncommon although as before each person's reaction is different. It would be worthwhile to discuss all this with your psychiatrist though.
Avatar f tn well everybody is different I do quite well on it I have normal emotions and my sexlife is great.I have been taking it for 7 years and I did gain weight initially but I have it under contrrol now.
Avatar m tn I have been taking invega sustenna (antipsychotic) injection every month for over a year now and since then have no semen coming out when I ejaculate and have no pleasure from the orgasm at all... could this be permanent?
952564 tn?1268368647 I don't like all this talk about weight gain. As I said I am already 50 lbs over weight. It is very hard on my self esteem, which only adds to my depression. My weight problem is one of my triggers, (both ways,) when I am feeling bad about myself. I have been proud of myself recently I've been losing about 1 llb a week. I am supposed to take a low dose, I think 1 mg. I am actaully pretty scared of meds.
Avatar f tn Well,I'm not on the Invega anymore.Seemed too strong for me.Now I'm on Lamictal,Seroquel,Xanax, and Propranolol.I just had my thyroid tested and I'm borderline Hyperthyroid.I have read that either Bipolar can cause Hyperthyroid,Hyperthyroid can cause Bipolar,or it just plain mimics Bipolar disorder. Now I have to make an appt with an endocrinologist to see what to do about this.Has anyone else heard of this before?
Avatar n tn How does one switch from Risperdal Consta (50mg Q2wks) to Invega Sustenna??
Avatar n tn For the past couple years I have been on paliperidone which is generic for invega which I know can cause extreme weight gain. Couple that with my increasingly poor eating habits, I definitely ballooned in weight. For about the past two months I have gone on a heavy calorie restriction that I know is deemed to be unsafe and unhealthy. I want to say now that with respect, I would prefer you focus on my question at hand and not about telling me to eat more food than I currently do. Thanks.
603015 tn?1329862973 I take Invega, Lamictal, Trazadone, and Zoloft. I, too, can not afford to gain any weight... and have not since I started taking these medications. It may take a while, but as long as you are open with your doctor about everything that you have been feeling it will all work out. I use the mood tracker and I can't wait to bring it back to my pdoc. I didn't realize how drastic my mood changes from day to day.
11055444 tn?1414944590 is anyone out there to help me deal with withdrawals from invega 3mg...put on as a trial basis, now can't afford the medicine.. and my xanax was stolen last week.... i have none.. i don't abuse my meds.. never had this problem before.. in a bad state now for several days that keeps getting worse by the day...don't wanna look bad to my dr.. he has helped me with my ptsd...so hurt and don't understand what my head is doing.. the medicine was working.
Avatar f tn As you will know Seroquel is a very calming anti psychotic, whereas Invega is quite agitating, I think by dropping the Invega you will have a lot less side effects ( fingers crossed ) You might feel quite drowsy for a few weeks because of the Seroquel but the extra 50mg he has given you isn't going to be too harsh, my doc usually increases my Seroquel by 100mg. With it being the XR version as well, you will have less drowsiness.
912156 tn?1242874384 285lbs and i smoked a pack a day till just recently. 5 mos. ago i took a drug named Invega wich is an antipsycotic but was given to me for bipolar disorder. This drug is a revoloutionary drug in that field in that it is a time released capsule of palpharidone wich should never be crushed, chewed, or cut before taking. Unfortunately I didnt know this at the time.
