I started to take invega because risperidone was making me gain a lot of weight. I changed but I can't lose that weight. I was already taking sertraline I still take it. I stopped having my period when on invega and Pregnancy is not on the table already done the test. Can anyone help me?

Just nice stable everyday normal living. Its seems to me that alot of docs tend to overprescribe when all is need for bi polar is a good mood stabilizer and a good anti depressant I could be wrong since I am not a doc . I am just a bi polar (in remission lol)who has been on alot of meds. the meds should make you feel normal not doped or drugged. at first on the zyprexa and celexa I felt sleepy but it passed after about 2 weeks.
The sites I have found all back link to the company site that makes invega, it shows all the symptoms, side effects etc... but does not indicate how long it takes to get the drug out of the body nor how long (after discontinued use) the symptoms begin to fade.
Has anybody experienced these symptoms?
As you will know Seroquel is a very calming anti psychotic, whereas Invega is quite agitating, I think by dropping the Invega you will have a lot less side effects ( fingers crossed )
You might feel quite drowsy for a few weeks because of the Seroquel but the extra 50mg he has given you isn't going to be too harsh, my doc usually increases my Seroquel by 100mg.
With it being the XR version as well, you will have less drowsiness.
My question is on tapering risperidone how long does one need to taper risperidone from a dose of 1mg to 0.5mg in days or weeks?.
I am on wellbutrin,klonopin,depakote, invega and ambien. I stopped invega due to pdoc but see him on monday. Nerves get out of control for me a lot of the time like daily. I get at the worst on the weekends when everything is winding down from my week that is stressfull. just don't think its the meds doing it to me. and why should I be differnt than I have been before I lose it and yell alot but that is me.
Withdrawel dyskinesia can happen when risperidone is stopped quickly. You want to tell your doctor immediately. They can go away over time but could take a while. Tardive dyskinesia is a bit different and may not go away. Definately give your doctor a call about this situation.
Obviously, be religious about giving that medication at the appropriate time each day. If he does eventually discontinue it, a very slow taper is best.

Anxiety does contribute, at least indirectly to lowered oxygen delivery,
mainly due to hyperventating leading to hypocapnia ( hypocapnia causes cerebral vasoconstriction, leading to cerebral hypoxia and this can cause transient dizziness and more anxiety!)
Dizziness has been reported as one of the common side effects of
Invega Sustenna, BTW.
Was the decrease dosing of Invega suggested (and monitored) by your prescribing Doctor?
I took the 156 mg most of the time then the 234 for a few months back to 156 down to 117 mg. I wanted to get off the medicine because I have been combining it with medical marjuana , alchohol , anti anxiety (Xanax) and shrooms; along with adderall before I was given invega and after. So I believe I am possibly causing damage and being out of balance. I can’t concentrate sometimes and weight gain along with prolactin due to enlarged breast is a concern.
You med choices may be different because of your diagnosis, as well, I know for myself, I have to do some hard work as well to keep from getting into a depression by doing self care and I go to a support group.
It's important that you are really active in your wellness, my depression has gone down dramatically but it's still there sometimes, I'm Bipolar2.
