Hello I am a 21 year old male I have been taking medicine since about 17 or 18 and been diagnosed with schizophrenia at age 19 I have been taking invega sustenna since august 2020. I stopped for a month or two then resumed up until now. I took the 156 mg most of the time then the 234 for a few months back to 156 down to 117 mg.
I have severe Akathisa from my meds Invega Sustenna that has now stopped,but nearly after 12 months later,I am stil experiencing very bad akathisia,I am now on 125mg lithium daily & also take one Lorazepam daily to keep the akathisia at bay.I have trouble getting words out sometimes,I occasionally repat the same sentences over & over,never had or been like this before it's very frustrating,I also find it hard to sleep at night,as my mind won't switch off.

The sites I have found all back link to the company site that makes invega, it shows all the symptoms, side effects etc... but does not indicate how long it takes to get the drug out of the body nor how long (after discontinued use) the symptoms begin to fade.

Well,I'm not on the Invega anymore.Seemed too strong for me.Now I'm on Lamictal,Seroquel,Xanax,and Propranolol.I just had my thyroid tested and I'm borderline Hyperthyroid.I have read that either Bipolar can cause Hyperthyroid,Hyperthyroid can cause Bipolar,or it just plain mimics Bipolar disorder.Now I have to make an appt with an endocrinologist to see what to do about this.Has anyone else heard of this before?
As you will know Seroquel is a very calming anti psychotic, whereas Invega is quite agitating, I think by dropping the Invega you will have a lot less side effects ( fingers crossed )
You might feel quite drowsy for a few weeks because of the Seroquel but the extra 50mg he has given you isn't going to be too harsh, my doc usually increases my Seroquel by 100mg.
With it being the XR version as well, you will have less drowsiness.
t know about the other meds but I take depakote and I found it helped with my anxiety and stabilised my mood quite quickly, i think it was simply because of the sedation side effects though..and the dose.
Are you experiencing high anxiety at the moment? Could you be breathing fast? sometimes we get pins and needles and tingly sensations when we hyperventilate.

In less than 30 minutes after taking Zoloft, I get these side effects very profoundly. It is interfering with my daily activities, and my temperature seems to fluctuate easier. It lasts almost all day, but it subsides as the day goes.
My guess is that My medication, and it might be Zoloft, is producing these bad effects. I think serotonin syndrome is a reasonable idea. My idea is to try to only take 50mg tomorrow instead of 100, and see what happens. Thoughts?
the hospital took me off prestic, seroquel and lithium and the neurologist put me on lamital for both seizures and depression. also, i am taking invega and ativan for anxiety. the reason for my seizures is because of medicine. i lost my memory, use a cane and bit my tongue badly. caution: beware of anti-depressents--they can lower your seizure threshold. thank god i am getting better.
The reason was that the stimulant drug would affect the wrong part of the brain as well as the target area in his case, and when that happens, concentration improves, but there would have also been side effects of angry outbursts and rage. It turned out they HAD tried a stimulant drug for a short time, and that's exactly the reaction the little boy had!
I have never been on a true ADHD stimulant, but was tried on Topamax as a different sort of migraine prophylaxis medicine.
