Avatar n tn There are some websites that tell you about medications giving you the affects it has on the body, with all the info. You can put in medication side effects, or drug information and pull up sites. I just check on a med by doing that.
Avatar m tn Weight gain is a known side effect of Invega. The second concern you mentioned is a potentially rare adverse side effect of Invega. It would be essential to call these concerns to the attention of your psychiatrist so they could see what the potential cause was and decide what the appropriate follow up was within their professional discretion.
Avatar m tn Hello, Invega sustenna may cause difficulty maintain and erection, decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm. But these side effects are not permanent and should go away one the medicine is stopped. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. 1069565 tn?1255536393 Your symptoms of involuntary movements in the arms, hands, and legs and achiness, headache, drowsiness, decrease sex drive etc are side effects of Invega that you are taking. Headache, drowsiness, decrease sex drive etc are also seen with Celexa. Your symptoms are probably due to improper control of the bipolar disorder and taking medications with similar side effects. You need a change of medication. Please discuss with your doctor and ask for a change in prescription. This may help.
1895346 tn?1321305844 Is there a general doctor you could go to? It is better than nothing. If you do some research as to the different medications you can try and go in with a suggestion that will help a lot. There are a lot of atypical antipsychotics such as risperadol, invega, you've tried seroquel, geodone, ziprexa (although weight gain and cost are a factor) and abilify (cost may be a factor). There are also the mood stabilizers such as lamotrigine and depakote that may be useful.
Avatar f tn Well,I'm not on the Invega anymore.Seemed too strong for me.Now I'm on Lamictal,Seroquel,Xanax, and Propranolol.I just had my thyroid tested and I'm borderline Hyperthyroid.I have read that either Bipolar can cause Hyperthyroid,Hyperthyroid can cause Bipolar,or it just plain mimics Bipolar disorder. Now I have to make an appt with an endocrinologist to see what to do about this.Has anyone else heard of this before?
20914619 tn?1637171288 m a 37 yo female and have been diagnosed as schizoaffective with bipolar features, and in May was started on Invega 224 mg injectable and 12 mg oral once daily along side Topomax 10mg once daily. But since being prescribed the Invega in May I've gained significant weight (30 lbs) being the heaviest I've ever been in my life. My hair is growing in darker and coarser, and I've been battling extreme depression. Usually an active person I cant seem to motivate myself to do anything.
Avatar f tn As you will know Seroquel is a very calming anti psychotic, whereas Invega is quite agitating, I think by dropping the Invega you will have a lot less side effects ( fingers crossed ) You might feel quite drowsy for a few weeks because of the Seroquel but the extra 50mg he has given you isn't going to be too harsh, my doc usually increases my Seroquel by 100mg. With it being the XR version as well, you will have less drowsiness.
Avatar f tn Weight gain is one of the documented side effects of invega sustenna; if you are on it, you aren't going to lose weight unless you work hard at it. I suggest you talk to your doctor and see what kind of weight-loss plan you can devise. Also, one form of exercise that does chip off the weight slowly but surely, is walking. If workouts are too much or too hard to keep up, try building a walking pattern into every day. (Park further from your work or school and walk the difference, etc.
Avatar n tn My therapis talked about adding an anti depressent in the future if I want so im wondering which one works for yall? I dont want one with sexual side effects(negative) she recommended wellbutrin. How should I feel on this if I decide to take it?
Avatar n tn How does one switch from Risperdal Consta (50mg Q2wks) to Invega Sustenna??
Avatar m tn In less than 30 minutes after taking Zoloft, I get these side effects very profoundly. It is interfering with my daily activities, and my temperature seems to fluctuate easier. It lasts almost all day, but it subsides as the day goes. My guess is that My medication, and it might be Zoloft, is producing these bad effects. I think serotonin syndrome is a reasonable idea. My idea is to try to only take 50mg tomorrow instead of 100, and see what happens. Thoughts?
Avatar f tn Its important to distinguish temporary movement disorders (extra pyramidal side effects) from permanent movement disorders such as tardive dyskinesia as temporary movement disorders are very common with antipsychotics and its essential they be treated or they can be quite painful and debilitating.
Avatar f tn You should never stop taking your medication except under the guidance of your prescribing doctor. You don't say what type of medication you are taking so it's hard to say what you should do. Don't get lulled into a false sense of not needing your meds because you are feeling better, you are feeling better because the medication is doing it's job. Let us know what medication you're taking and we can be of more help to you. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Abilify, Geodon, and Invega are atypical antipsychotic medication. They are not typically helpful for ADHD. Medications like Adderall can worsen paranoia and delusions. Perhaps a non-stimulant medication like Straterra would be of benefit.
Avatar n tn m having depression from an antipsychotic medication called invega. My pharmasist friend told me that it decreases something called dopamine in your brain I'm wondering if getting on anti depressants could help reverse this or perhaps that just touches base on other issues other than what I have reason to be the cause (the invega). Also is it possible to ever feel happy without these medications or do I need something that potent (the antidepressants) to get back to normal?
Avatar n tn Since your panic attacks are happening less, are the headaches numerous and a reason that you cannot take the medication anymore? Or are some of the side effects okay with you now that your anxiety is much better? What does your prescribing doctor say about this? Headaches can also be caused by an endless number of factors in my opinon. Are you getting enough sleep? Are you still under a lot of stress? The point is, that the headaches may not even be related to the medication itself.
