invega medication dosage

My friend was hospitalized and put on Zyprexa, Trileptal and Invega over a period of 21 days. Now he's been released but can not afford the drugs so he hasn't taken taken any for 5 days. The invega was only given to him 6 days ago, and is a monthly injection, so the withdrawl for that hasn't started yet. I know one isn't supposed to just stop anti-psychotics but he hasn't been able to get Medicare and I don't think he'll manage it right now. So this is his reality...

You should never stop taking your medication except under the guidance of your prescribing doctor. You don't say what type of medication you are taking so it's hard to say what you should do. Don't get lulled into a false sense of not needing your meds because you are feeling better, you are feeling better because the medication is doing it's job. I used to take Remeron for about a year. I was at the 30Mg dosage also. I also was given Xanax, but at that time only 1/2Mg per day. I had found that the withdrawl from Remeron was not as bad as the withdrawl I had from many other antidepressants. (had to switch the remeron for another med because Remeron was no longer working to control my depression) You said that your on 4Mgs a day of Xanax? HOLD UP! That is WAY too much and if you continue at that dosage you will get severly addicted.

but I have read Invega may cause thyroid issues. If this is so, is it reversible once you stop taking Invega? I'm very concerned! Please help.

is anyone out there to help me deal with withdrawals from invega 3mg...put on as a trial basis, now can't afford the medicine.. and my xanax was stolen last week.... i have none.. i don't abuse my meds.. never had this problem before.. in a bad state now for several days that keeps getting worse by the day...don't wanna look bad to my dr.. he has helped me with my ptsd...so hurt and don't understand what my head is doing.. the medicine was working.

I have been taking invega sustenna (antipsychotic) injection every month for over a year now and since then have no semen coming out when I ejaculate and have no pleasure from the orgasm at all... could this be permanent?

m having depression from an antipsychotic medication called invega. My pharmasist friend told me that it decreases something called dopamine in your brain I'm wondering if getting on anti depressants could help reverse this or perhaps that just touches base on other issues other than what I have reason to be the cause (the invega). Also is it possible to ever feel happy without these medications or do I need something that potent (the antidepressants) to get back to normal?

Hi 7 months ago i was given a drug called invega that is time released and i was instructed to cut it n half and take it wich almost killed me. This drug is known for causing arythmias by prolongation of the QT interval. I have since stoped taking the invega. I dont take any drug, not even asprin.

Is there a general doctor you could go to? It is better than nothing. If you do some research as to the different medications you can try and go in with a suggestion that will help a lot. There are a lot of atypical antipsychotics such as risperadol, invega, you've tried seroquel, geodone, ziprexa (although weight gain and cost are a factor) and abilify (cost may be a factor). There are also the mood stabilizers such as lamotrigine and depakote that may be useful.

Well,I'm not on the Invega anymore.Seemed too strong for me.Now I'm on Lamictal,Seroquel,Xanax,and Propranolol.I just had my thyroid tested and I'm borderline Hyperthyroid.I have read that either Bipolar can cause Hyperthyroid,Hyperthyroid can cause Bipolar,or it just plain mimics Bipolar disorder.Now I have to make an appt with an endocrinologist to see what to do about this.Has anyone else heard of this before?

Enalapril, Spironolactone 20mg, Digoxin 0125mg?, Invega XR 6mg, Celexa 40mg. I dont know what the heck is wrong. I dont know if it a mental problem getting worse and causing physical problems, or a physical problem causing mental ones, Or if it has to do with my heart. Im really scared becuase I can barely control my actions and even my personality is changing. I had a CT scan, but wont know results till Tuesday. Does anyone have some suggestions?

Finally, since about year he began giving him INVEGA (paliperidone) injection 50 mg which he is fine with it. The problem is that he has become sperm non-existent as he told me. As you will know Seroquel is a very calming anti psychotic, whereas Invega is quite agitating, I think by dropping the Invega you will have a lot less side effects ( fingers crossed ) You might feel quite drowsy for a few weeks because of the Seroquel but the extra 50mg he has given you isn't going to be too harsh, my doc usually increases my Seroquel by 100mg. With it being the XR version as well, you will have less drowsiness.

285lbs and i smoked a pack a day till just recently. 5 mos. ago i took a drug named Invega wich is an antipsycotic but was given to me for bipolar disorder. This drug is a revoloutionary drug in that field in that it is a time released capsule of palpharidone wich should never be crushed, chewed, or cut before taking. Unfortunately I didnt know this at the time.

However I have learned from the psychiatrists I have seen over the years who at times did allow me to lower the dosage of a medication if they felt I could maintain stability was that what can appear as if a person might not need a medication or a specific dose could easily be because it is working. Also I didnt feel the effect of the lowering of the medication until two weeks later because it took that long to get out of my bloodstream.
