invega

Avatar m tn I have been taking invega sustenna (antipsychotic) injection every month for over a year now and since then have no semen coming out when I ejaculate and have no pleasure from the orgasm at all... could this be permanent?
Avatar m tn Weight gain is a known side effect of Invega. The second concern you mentioned is a potentially rare adverse side effect of Invega. It would be essential to call these concerns to the attention of your psychiatrist so they could see what the potential cause was and decide what the appropriate follow up was within their professional discretion.
Avatar f tn t know about the other meds but I take depakote and I found it helped with my anxiety and stabilised my mood quite quickly, i think it was simply because of the sedation side effects though..and the dose. Are you experiencing high anxiety at the moment? Could you be breathing fast? sometimes we get pins and needles and tingly sensations when we hyperventilate. Hope you feel better soon!
Avatar n tn The sites I have found all back link to the company site that makes invega, it shows all the symptoms, side effects etc... but does not indicate how long it takes to get the drug out of the body nor how long (after discontinued use) the symptoms begin to fade. Has anybody experienced these symptoms?
Avatar f tn Well,I'm not on the Invega anymore.Seemed too strong for me.Now I'm on Lamictal,Seroquel,Xanax, and Propranolol.I just had my thyroid tested and I'm borderline Hyperthyroid.I have read that either Bipolar can cause Hyperthyroid,Hyperthyroid can cause Bipolar,or it just plain mimics Bipolar disorder. Now I have to make an appt with an endocrinologist to see what to do about this.Has anyone else heard of this before?
Avatar f tn As you will know Seroquel is a very calming anti psychotic, whereas Invega is quite agitating, I think by dropping the Invega you will have a lot less side effects ( fingers crossed ) You might feel quite drowsy for a few weeks because of the Seroquel but the extra 50mg he has given you isn't going to be too harsh, my doc usually increases my Seroquel by 100mg. With it being the XR version as well, you will have less drowsiness.
Avatar f tn Weight gain is one of the documented side effects of invega sustenna; if you are on it, you aren't going to lose weight unless you work hard at it. I suggest you talk to your doctor and see what kind of weight-loss plan you can devise. Also, one form of exercise that does chip off the weight slowly but surely, is walking. If workouts are too much or too hard to keep up, try building a walking pattern into every day. (Park further from your work or school and walk the difference, etc.
Avatar m tn I was wondering what effects occur in the male body as a result of shrinking gonads. Does it affect T levels in the body?
Avatar f tn You might want to do a bit more research on the timing of taking this injection It takes a few hours for the side effects to hit and by doing your injection just before bedtime the timing is you are feeling flu-like as you are waking in the morning. As I understand it, if you adjust the timing and do it several hours before bed, the flu-like symptoms occur more while you are asleep. There is good information on the page for Rebif, which is another interferon like betaseron - http://www.
Avatar f tn Hi all, I had an injection in summer 2013 and before that I was on the pill for about a week, and took some emergency contraception before all that. On average I was on the pill for just a week and half and had injection that last 3 months. Due to side effects I didn't return for second dose and I didn't take pills again. Can anyone tell me the long term side effects because my body has not been the same again.

1069565 tn?1255536393 Your symptoms of involuntary movements in the arms, hands, and legs and achiness, headache, drowsiness, decrease sex drive etc are side effects of Invega that you are taking. Headache, drowsiness, decrease sex drive etc are also seen with Celexa. Your symptoms are probably due to improper control of the bipolar disorder and taking medications with similar side effects. You need a change of medication. Please discuss with your doctor and ask for a change in prescription. This may help.
1967803 tn?1325679473 ve been on a titration dose for about 5 weeks now and I can still see the the bruise from my first injection. A majority of the other injection sites are red blotches that are about 2 inches in diameter. These marks are mostly visible on my thighs and stomach. Sometimes I get a little residual pain and a red welt. I don't inject in the same area twice, I pre-medicate with Ibuprofen, I pinch, inject, let go, rub, apply Hydrocortisone cream.

Avatar f tn It is my 2nd week on the triple therapy and the side effects that I have been experiencing seen to be very mild. But there are some noticeable changes that I am still trying to get my head around which are: Over active bowel movement - it doesn't mean that I am suffering from diarrhea but probably with helps from a healthy diet regime that I am on at a hospital, I go to a loo at least three times a day Static shocks - I get what it feels like static shocks in my hands and toes.
