invega for bipolar disorder

I have just been prescribed Invega 9 mg for Bipolar Disorder along with 12oo mg of Trileptal and 50 mg of Topamax.I am still having bizzare dreams and feel as if I am sleepwalking and doing odd behavior throughout the day.I feel extremely drugged.Is this pretty commom with this combo of drugs or from any one of these.I have periods to where I just "can't think".Thank you for your response.

I have been experiencing high nerves in my arms and face and was wanting to know how long it will take wellbutrin,klonopin,depakote and invega to begin working. Or is there something that I can do to make these feelings to go away.

Hi. I think things like weight gain that happens can be a judgement call. Is the weight gain worth the feeling better with the mental health disorder? Can I do 'anything' that can offset the weight? But you describe more which is that you are having depression. THAT you must talk to your doctor about.

Have you spoken to your doctor about him possibly having something else besides the Bipolar disease? I know it's hard to think of something besides what the doctor's already given him but if the medication isn't doing what it's suppose to do, there may be another underlying problem that needs to be dealt with.

He was earlied diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and this time his prescriptions say Schizoaffective disorder. He lives in New Jersey. I will ask him to look into Medicaid as well as talk to the state health dept, thanks. Understood that withdrawal may not be too dangerous after just 21 days. Thanks for re-directing me back to his diagnosis and the importance of treating that.

I wouldnt advise anyone take this drug ever. In my opinion the risks arent worth the reward. I was given it for bipolar and had I known anything about it then I wouldnt have taken it. It realy irritates me as well that I was given this for bipolar since it is realy made for sktzo. I could and should have been given something with much less risk.

HEy guys Ive been on lamictal for a while now and invega and ive been doing pretty good, Id say about 70 percent of where I feel I should be. I still feel a lil sad at times but overall Im in a constructive mindset. My therapis talked about adding an anti depressent in the future if I want so im wondering which one works for yall? I dont want one with sexual side effects(negative) she recommended wellbutrin. How should I feel on this if I decide to take it?

i suspect they will find he is bipolar to but not adhd he is 7 ...there mother is bipolar and she has really had a hard time of it....but the kids are doing ok...she is on straterra in the am and invega at night....hope all goes well ...keep us posted.....

is adderall being used for manic depressive/ bipolar disorder, especially when all other treatments have been ineffective even ect the persons mind is racing, foot is shaking, but body cannot get in action., like add of the mind.

I am on an invega shot for my schizo affective disorder but cannot find a doctor that will treat me for adhd and because of the symptoms of my adhd I have developed a substance abuse problem in an attempt to self medicate and fight the anxiousness and boredom that I always feel....I need help but no doctor is willing to help me...

Perhaps your son is on the wrong combo of meds?

Abilify, Geodon, and Invega are atypical antipsychotic medication. They are not typically helpful for ADHD. Medications like Adderall can worsen paranoia and delusions. Perhaps a non-stimulant medication like Straterra would be of benefit.

t until then that I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder while I was receiving treatment for my depression. Not only that but without treatment kids will most likely try to self medicate with drugs if not taken care of. My cousin is in rehab right now for her addictions and she didn't start treatment until she was 22. So again, with PROPER counseling it's better to catch the problem early on before it's too late.

t really remember he is not avoiding the question. It is fairly common for people with bipolar disorder to not remember the details of episodes. I am not saying it is always easy to live with someone who had bipolar disorder at times but if you truly love him it is something you can get through and have it grow a deeper relationship with each other. Most people with bipolar live full and satisfied lives. And as an aside - don't let email posts scare the crap out of you.

Has anyone else been diagnosed with Soft Bipolar Disorder? I recently was and I am looking for others with whom I can share experiences and support through the ups and downs. Sometimes people ask me what Soft Bipolar is. It is subtle hypomania with severe depression. I also have rapid-cycling. Can anyone relate?

Bipolar I requires a full manic or mixed episode. Bipolar II requires at least one full depressive episode and at least one hypomanic episode, with no full manic or mixed episodes.

Xanax is NOT used primarily for bipolar disorder. It can cause much worse problems in the long run if your husband is addicted to it. It has a short calming effect, (to calm a person down when going through a panic attack). Then it wears away, causing your hubby to get manic again. It is by no means a mood stabalizer like Lithium or Lamictal. He seems to be self medicating with it. I love the stuff- that's why I don't touch it anymore. ;) Good luck!
