Well,I'm not on the Invega anymore.Seemed too strong for me.Now I'm on Lamictal,Seroquel,Xanax,and Propranolol.I just had my thyroid tested and I'm borderline Hyperthyroid.I have read that either Bipolar can cause Hyperthyroid,Hyperthyroid can cause Bipolar,or it just plain mimics Bipolar disorder.Now I have to make an appt with an endocrinologist to see what to do about this.Has anyone else heard of this before?

As you will know Seroquel is a very calming anti psychotic, whereas Invega is quite agitating, I think by dropping the Invega you will have a lot less side effects ( fingers crossed ) You might feel quite drowsy for a few weeks because of the Seroquel but the extra 50mg he has given you isn't going to be too harsh, my doc usually increases my Seroquel by 100mg. With it being the XR version as well, you will have less drowsiness.

Your symptoms of involuntary movements in the arms, hands, and legs and achiness, headache, drowsiness, decrease sex drive etc are side effects of Invega that you are taking. Headache, drowsiness, decrease sex drive etc are also seen with Celexa. Your symptoms are probably due to improper control of the bipolar disorder and taking medications with similar side effects. You need a change of medication. Please discuss with your doctor and ask for a change in prescription. This may help.

Hello, I was seen in the ER today for a migraine and they gave me a mixture of compazine, benadryl, toradol and a steroid through an IV. I was wondering what possible side effects I may encounter.

Hi 7 months ago i was given a drug called invega that is time released and i was instructed to cut it n half and take it wich almost killed me. This drug is known for causing arythmias by prolongation of the QT interval. I have since stoped taking the invega. I dont take any drug, not even asprin.

t know about the other meds but I take depakote and I found it helped with my anxiety and stabilised my mood quite quickly, i think it was simply because of the sedation side effects though..and the dose. Are you experiencing high anxiety at the moment? Could you be breathing fast? sometimes we get pins and needles and tingly sensations when we hyperventilate. Hope you feel better soon!

oops, forgot to say that the odd thing about your symptoms is that they have lasted even after all the drug is gone from your system. That would seem to mean that some damage was done, but on the other hand maybe there's some weird and very unusual other effect going on. I'd guess your best hope is to find others who might have undergone the same thing as you, either through J & J or maybe the FDA. Good luck to you. P.S. m a 37 yo female and have been diagnosed as schizoaffective with bipolar features, and in May was started on Invega 224 mg injectable and 12 mg oral once daily along side Topomax 10mg once daily. But since being prescribed the Invega in May I've gained significant weight (30 lbs) being the heaviest I've ever been in my life. My hair is growing in darker and coarser, and I've been battling extreme depression. Usually an active person I cant seem to motivate myself to do anything.

I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. I just started on Zohydro ER because the idea of not taking acetaminophen with hydrocodone was tempting. (There's a Black Box warning about the acetaminophen in Vicodin). The first day I started the Z. (about 5 days ago) I got less pain relief and much more pain than I had with 5/375 Vicodin! That's seems totally wrong but it happened. In less than 30 minutes after taking Zoloft, I get these side effects very profoundly. It is interfering with my daily activities, and my temperature seems to fluctuate easier. It lasts almost all day, but it subsides as the day goes. My guess is that My medication, and it might be Zoloft, is producing these bad effects. I think serotonin syndrome is a reasonable idea. My idea is to try to only take 50mg tomorrow instead of 100, and see what happens. Thoughts?

This drug is a revoloutionary drug in that field in that it is a time released capsule of palpharidone wich should never be crushed, chewed, or cut before taking. Unfortunately I didnt know this at the time.

My mood haas fianally improved after being horribly voulatle and easily upset. But for some reason I can't sit still. Its really bad I feel like I'm having some kind of anxiety or something and that I'm constantly pacing or walking back and forth. Its like even when I was sitting down to study my flash cards with my mom I was just rocking back and forth on the floor cuz I couldn't sit still for even five minutes. Its important to distinguish temporary movement disorders (extra pyramidal side effects) from permanent movement disorders such as tardive dyskinesia as temporary movement disorders are very common with antipsychotics and its essential they be treated or they can be quite painful and debilitating.

I do know that all to often things like this are not listed as side effects. The problem is that the doctors and or patients do not report them and so they too often get looked over as is the case here. I am sure there are many documented cases they just are not reported. I am supposed to start trileptal this morning but worried about the side effects particularly dizzines. Has anyone had these symptoms? what are the likelyhood that I would become dizzy and nauseas while taking trileptal? I will be starting out w/ 150mg twice daily for 3 days then increasing?
