Avatar f tn And the Latissimus Dorsi receive their motor Innervation through the Thoracodorsal Nerve which is supplied from the C6, C7, C8 roots. C5-6 = C6 nerve root.
Avatar m tn - Blood test showed vit. B12 deficiency. My result is 51 pmol/l (while normal values are between 141-489). Iron, folic acid and everything else is fine. - Microbiological test of saliva found Klebsiella pneumoniae and Condida. I have prescripted Zinnat 500mg treatment that i haven’t started yet.
Avatar f tn A benign, unworrisome cause of muscle twitches is called benign fasciculation syndrome, is a condition in which there are involuntary twitches of various muscle groups, most commonly the legs but also the face, arms, eyes, and tongue. If the diagnosis is confirmed and other causes are excluded, it can be safely said that the likelihood of progression or occurrence of a serious neurologic condition is low.
Avatar n tn With intrinsic factor, 56% of a 1 mcg dose of vitamin B12 is absorbed. However, if you exceed the capacity of intrinsic factor (between 1 and 2 mcg) the percentage of B12 absorbed is reduced. Approximately 10 mcg of B12 is absorbed from a 500 mcg supplement. A small percentage (1 to 3%) of vitamin B12 intake is absorbed through passive diffusion without intrinsic factor.
Avatar f tn HI, over the past two weeks I have been getting attacks that start with an intense burning sensation that starts in my chest, and then spreads throughout my body followed by tingling throughout. Then the reaction continues to numbness in my face and tongue, itchy throat, and then finally goes into an asthma attack. My doctor thought it was food, so I have been on a liquid diet but the reactions still occur.
Avatar n tn Restrictive lung disease is either intrinsic or extrinsic within the lungs. Intrinsic means that the lungs themselves are causing the restrictive defect, usually from scarring that is preventing the lung from expanding properly with each breath. Some disorders that cause intrinsic restrictive disease are pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis,etc....
Avatar m tn Fasiculation observed in right hand base of thumb muscles when contracted. Some spasms in muscles of little finger of left hand. Tingling quite frequent. No fasiculations seen elsewhere in hands or arms. Fine motor movement still ok but easily fatigued, writing ok but becomes painful. Occasional burning neuropathic pain, fingers, arms. Two weeks ago both legs, parathesia mainly pins and needles, frequent and extensive. Some "crawling sensations" in legs but no observable fasiculation.

Avatar m tn you contract the intrinsic muscles of your feet when you bend the foot back. when your muscles are not used to these movements, they go into spasms. i recommend soaking your feet in warm water and doing toe curling exercises: bend and extend your toes (like waiving bye bye).
Avatar m tn The loss of response from the bilateral femoral motor nerves may indicate a nerve root compression problem, or a primary nerve problem like ALS. The lack of motor innervation can really cause the muscles the nerve supplies to shrink or atrophy. The first sign of these events may be weakness of the involved muscle group. The condition of the vertebral column should be assessed to rule out extrinsic compression. This can be done through an MRI of the spine.
Avatar n tn For the last 3 months I have been having constant muscle twitching and a feeling of tension in my tongue/throat/jaw. These feelings make very worried and anxious. My neurologist has diagnosed me with small fibre neuropathy but I don’t think these symptoms match with the diagnosis. I am wondering what sort of neurologist I need to see. About a year and a half ago I had what was believed to be a 9 day viral infection: head aches, muscle pain and extreme fatigue.
559187 tn?1330782856 I have had this sore tingling/burning feeling on my tongue for literally months. It has been more of a nuisance than at first, but now I am tired of not being able to taste anything and am miserable with it. I have had this before starting Lyrica or any other drug, so that is ruled out. And I have been on B12 supplements (nasal spray) for only a month and that hasn't made it go away...So, what could be causing this? Better yet, how can I make it go away?
Avatar f tn 2)also i noticed mouth paresthesia like buzzing or tingling in mouth and tongue?does this has anything to do with als or are this is how tongue fasciculations feel like? 3)i also had throat tighness(like muscle tighness in throat and when i look up its soar)happened twice and i yawn a lotbut i dunno maybe it was my anxiety?can anxiety cause that or could it be something else? 4)can radiculopathies cause buzzing and stiffness? 5)do you believe my symptoms indicate only radiculopathies?
Avatar f tn hand and leg cramps usually affect the calf muscles and intrinsic foot muscles, and are characterized by strong involuntary contraction of muscles that can be extremely painful. While benign and transient in nature, it can be a source of considerable distress for patients. cramps occur mainly due to lack of exercises... if ur not having time to do exercises just....just do stretching exercises...before sleep or morning....
Avatar n tn but whats new - I have feeling my arms are quickly tired and my joints are cracking. Im scared - what if some muscles there atropfied and thats why the tendons and bones do such noise? I had shoulder RTG - ok, surgeon said "no atrophy". But Im so scared, I know its not typical to get ALS after 1,5 years of twitching, but I also know there are exceptions. My EMG was done 10 months later - clean. EMG exam (last month) - clean.

If the diagnosis is confirmed and other causes are excluded, it can be safely said that the likelihood of progression or occurrence of a serious neurologic condition is low. When BFS is present but not particularly bothersome or disabling, treatment is not necessary.
Avatar m tn Hi......I'm one of the latest HIV forum rejects........I had a risky episode with a CSW about 2 months ago in which my condom partially slipped off....I do not recall if it slipped off completely or not, hence my anxiety and concerns...... Additionally, 5 days after the episode I started developing an awful lot of ARS like symptoms, which have further fueled anxiety in an already insecure, self conscious 22 year old individual. It's been pretty much that way ever since....
Avatar n tn There is a laryngeal nerve that can hit while doing surgery. This would cause a weak or hoarse voice due to the vocal folds receiving a lack of innervation. Sorry I don't know much about treatments, just pathologies at this point.
Avatar n tn Were you under a physician's care at the time? Muscle wasting is a serious sign of pressure on the nerve in the back. This would generally be an indication for back surgery to get the ruptured disc (the usual cause of the pressure) off of the nerve. Doing whatever exercises you can do to work the involved muscle group will help, but if the nerve has been destroyed and the muscles don't work, you are too late.
Avatar n tn I hypothesize that my levatator muscles or, more likely, their innervation mechanism(s)/pathway(s) were damaged during a surgury I had when I was 25 to relieve chronic sinnusitis, rendering them sensitive to stress, bacterial infection, and certain medications with anticholinergic activity that can disrupt the (para?)sympathetic "chain" which controls them. The doctors look at me like I'm a lunatic when I propose this latter pathology. Any thoughts?
486038 tn?1300063367 What's this? My muscles that control my face/jaw/speech are funky! So, when I had my flare two weeks ago I noticed that when I would speak every once in a while my jaw would wobble or jerk while I was speaking. I ALSO realized that it was a lot worse when I was singing. Today, I was in front of our church with the worship band, and when I started to sing my jaw just flipped out! So, have you ever had the chills and your jaw shook really bad and your teeth clattered?
Avatar n tn I have experienced twitching of the muscles in my calves and feet since i was a teenager (now almost 50). I have occasional problems with cramping but not to the extreme. I am active and healthy by all accounts exercising regularly and eating properly. I have not had this looked into by my doctor but am concerned as i get older, it may become an issue of sorts.
Avatar m tn I had sex with a Crossdresser I met through an online app. This was the first time I've ever had sex. I'm a 24 year old male btw. We had sex on July 1st, 2018. She mostly gave me unprotected oral. I then was the insertive partner when we had protected anal sex. I laid on the bed and she got on my penis which already had a condom on it. After we were done, I pulled out my penis and the condom seemed to get stuck inside her anus. She assured me that she was clean and HIV negative.
8713268 tn?1399464525 I have parietal cell antibodies and intrinsic factor antibodies which is a classic diagnosis of autoimmune pernicious anaemia. My blood cells didn't enlarge though I was severely vitamin B12 deficiency (I had masked megaloblastic anaemia). Enlarged blood cells show up with a high MCV (mean cell volume). Excerpt from ASCIA/RCPA Consensus Guidelines Anti-Intrinsic Factor Antibody Testing...
Avatar f tn Just had a MRI this past Saturday which showed Laminectomy changesL5-S1 more to right. Mild muscular atrophy and enhancement in the right para sacral muscles more than the left. Facet Joints: Mild sclerotic arthropathy at L4-5 and L5-S1. L4-5: mild signal loss and bulge. Mild stenosis. L5-S1:Laminectomy changes more to right. Signal loss and bulge to the left. Mild left foraminal stenosis. I also have DDD.
