Sorry forgot to answer the actual question. I think Zantac is fine as long as your kidneys and liver are not diseased. However, it isn't as effective as a proton pump inhibitor. I would speak to your Doctor if heart burn is an issue because something like Omeprazole would be much more beneficial. I can also vouch that it doesn't reduce the effects of Clopidogrel or Lipitor.
I've followed this research, and from what I've learned the drug interaction of Plavix and PPI's (proton pump inhibitors) is not not that strong. I doubted the report from the start as I took Plavix and PPI's and my blood was as thin as tea, I bruised very, very easily, and the blood tests to determine my clotting factor wasn't changed by taking the two drugs.

Immediately, I was rushed to the hospital placed in ER and ICU for observation for a day and then transferred to Ward for a day.In between, In between they had done the ECG with same results, as before.I was taken for ECHO and diagnosed as “Diastolic Dysfunction”. It is easy to find information regarding drug-drug interactions for omeprazole (Prilosec) and atorvastatin (Lipitor). I don’t think there’s any drug interaction between progesterone and anacin. The pain which you suffered is probably due to some acute gastritis/peptic ulcer pain which typically occurs in the night and is usually associated with nausea. If you take some antacids/omeprazole/pantoprazole, you’ll be fine. Please consult gastroenterologist/physician and you may need an endoscopy in case the symptoms recur on regular basis, otherwise a short course of anti-ulcer drugs should be fine.
ve eight stents and always was given a handful of Clopidogrel (Plavix) during the prep time before the surgery, and a couple of aspirins. They want the blood as thin as possible during the procedure to reduce the risk of stroke or arterial obstructions, obviously. I'd not be concerned and take the medication as asked.

I have suffered from excess acid on and off over the last 10 years and been diagnosed with h.pylori twice. I have tried Omeprazole and din't like the dry itching skin so came off of it and controlled it with diet and occasional anti acid chews.

I'm taking 9 mg of methodone a day and are taking 4mg of Ativan and 4 mg of dilaudid 2 a day. I've been on meds for 6.5 years. I'm 39 and fill all I do is take meds . I quite once and the pain was to bad is this a lot of med?

Was given endoscopy and prescribed omeprazole (40mg) until next endoscopy in one year. Was told the pain should go away in about a month. It's been about 2 months and the pain is still just as bad. Could I not have a hernia or ulcer and could this have been overlooked somehow in the endoscopy?
After six years post MI and ef varying between 25-35%, my cardiologist now feels that I should shift from aspirin(150)+clopidogrel (75) to warfarin. Two years back he did tell me that he is double minded on whether to put me on warfarin. But this time he appears to be very sure and has insisted me to go for warfarin.

I would just keep to the medications prescribed and eat a healthy diet. The Clopidogrel is important for the Stent and the drug coating on the stent will help to inhibit the formation of scar tissue.

I am currently taking plavix, 81mg aspirin AND coumadin on a daily basis. I had a stent put in in July 2008 and triple by pass in 2006. I'm 64 and had my first MI at 33. My father died of an MI at 46, my EF is under 30%. My EP (at one hospital) just suggested I eliminate the plavix while my CHF specialist (at a nearby major research university) said I would be on plavix for a "long time" (forever?).
