Common Questions and Answers about Instant cold ice packs

cold

Avatar m tn The question I have is, can you use too much cold on hemorrhoids or keeping does keeping them cool and, hopefully, not as swollen trump that? Basically, could I sit on cold packs all day without any harm? Thanks.
645800 tn?1466860955 Yeah right..I can see me now going to Walmart wearing a towel wrapped around me. :) I actually have a very narrow temperature tolerance range. Below 65 and I get chilled and start to shiver. Once I get to that point the only thing that will stop it is a hot shower. Above 71 and my MS symptoms go wild. In fact I keep my bedroom at 65 and sleep with my lower legs uncovered just to keep from overheating during the night.
Avatar n tn but there is NO relief. The only thing that seems to help is an ice pack, but I have bought those over the counter cold packs and keep refreezing them only to give myself frostbite.......it just doesn't get cold enough. My four sisters have the same thing, as did my Dad. What is it and how can I get it to stop? When we are out, I often ask for a glass of ice to run up and down my arms........it is worse at night....but I have it all the time. Please help...........
1794411 tn?1321495731 I am wondering what seems to work best for others~ ice packs on your neck/back of your head or a heating pad type thing? I have a bed buddy for my neck and the heat seems to help, but there are times where the pain just feels like I need the ice pack...I have the pain in the back of my neck from a bulging disc in C6-C7, plus a lot of the headaches are always at the base of my neck. So I am just wondering what others find to work better. Thanks!
Avatar f tn They say to wear a tight bra don't pump at all. They also told me when u take a shower to scrub with soap.
1903798 tn?1333905288 The only problem was the lumpy ice hurt so i had to empty some out. When I was released I asked my Mom to get me ice packs from walgreens like we had as kids at school. They don't freeze...stay squishy like a gel. They have been perfect! I have posted daily pics so I can see how my head is healing...even if you don't like ice you might give it a try.
11374118 tn?1424678451 I am with you there on the ice cold drinks. Unfortunately I can't walk outside in a t - shirt as much as I want to since it is -20 right now.
Avatar f tn I started leaking at 17 weeks. I don't think it should hurt that bad! Mine were just a little tender. Are they hard too? I'd call a or see your doc. Until then, ice packs or cold washrags on it should help.

422823 tn?1229736847 I do believe the 100 calorie packs have artificial sweetener...sugar free instant puddings do have artificial sweetener...Just please don't have the sugar free stuff. It is much better to have sugar. Put DH on alert so he can be sure not to buy that stuff...we want you and baby to be healthy!
Avatar n tn Depending on where you go, you may be able to get ice buckets at night or ask to refreeze cold packs in the kitchen fridge. I carried a note from doctor (I was on a trial and had no prescriptions) but no one every asked to see it. I assume they saw lots of medications go through and were not interested in mine. You could mention in customs that they are your chemotherapy meds. I was in bad shape on TX and we asked for wheel chairs in US airports.
1755089 tn?1376053555 I love my gel packs from the drug store because they don't freeze hard and there are no lumps...I can lay my incision on it and it does not hurt.
284738 tn?1283106819 No!!! You don't want to put cold ice packs on your breasts... That will prevent milk from coming in.....My sister in law did that .. She was breastfeeding my nephew, and she put ice packs on her boobs, and her milk dried up......
645800 tn?1466860955 The phase change packs freeze at 58 degrees so it is easier to tolerate the cold. The only way I could tolerate the ice pack version was to also just put it in the fridge which wouldn't actually frees the water in them. Then it would only last about 1 hour before I needed to change packs in order to keep myself cool. The Phase Change cooling vests are kind of expensive (~$300 with tow sets of packs), but I think well worth the price if they continue to work this good.
Avatar m tn Also, there are disposable instant cold packs you can buy from 99 cent stores to use for the cold, this makes it easy to find relief when driving, at work, or some other place a sink is not always available.
1961938 tn?1398718101 I had that early on in my pregnancey and pepermint oil helps I even used ice packs on my head and neck (not at the same time, use a cold cloth opilosit the ice pack) but I felt even better after I ended up hurting so bad I threw up and it hurt less. My doc said its from the increase in blood flow cus of baby and ur head isnt used to it. Ur muscles could also be stressed and tight.
Avatar f tn will be okay in the coolers for a while(maybe days) if I keep making sure the ice packs are cold? Like I said my freezer works and i have back up ice packs in there to replace them as needed.
Avatar f tn The pain starts off center-right of my chest in close proximity to my right pectoral and esophagus. Sometimes I can sense an episode coming on and nip it in the bud with ice-cold water. The pain radiates in an area about the size of a softball and left unattended becomes devastating. “When I refer to cold water throughout this discerption I mean a 30-ounce Yeti tumbler filled with ice first then filled with cold water, then refilled with ice and water until the pain is extinguished.
Avatar m tn Hello, Tennis elbow is also called lateral epicondylitis and is a condition where the outer part of the elbow becomes sore and tender. Give rest to your elbow. Apply some cold packs on it and some analgesic (pain reliever) gel or cream. You can also take some over the counter anti inflammatory like ibuprofen or diclofenac. Orthotic brace or straps to reduce stress are also useful. Other useful treatment options are soft tissue massage, stretching exercises and ultrasound therapy.
572651 tn?1530999357 m writing about those reusable ice packs and styrofoam mini coolers that come to my door every month. My family and friends can't use anymore. I hate to throw them into the landfill trash here - 20 months into the program I could just about build an igloo out of styrofoam blocks. I've shoved leftover foods into them for my children to take home every chance I get.
Avatar f tn Extra blood circulation makes them active as well. But most of all the cold water does help, I put the music on, on my phone as set it on my belly and my baby kicks it..
2170635 tn?1357911686 I used an ice pack a couble hours ago it kinda help hopefull the more i use it the better the results
Avatar n tn I have had that kind of itch in my right arm for 21 years. Then it slowly started moving from my hand, up my arm and now into the other arm and my neck. I saw a neurologist. I have some nerve damage in my shoulder and also a herniated disc in my neck. They told me it can show up as pain or itch. Nothing helps it except for ice packs. I feel I will go crazy someday. All the meds I've tried don't work.
Avatar f tn ve only ever used ice packs (made from condoms half filled with frozen water). Might try both though as I imagine the ice packs stay cold for longer...
154668 tn?1290115995 I will be traveling to Europe next month and I was wondering how to keep the Peg cold while on the flight. I don’t think the ice packs will stay cold from the time I leave home plus 3 hours wait at the airport and an 8 hour flight. Anyone have any ideas?
Avatar f tn I agree with the above. Use an insulated case with frozen ice packs. They will stay cold down in baggage but I would worry too much about them being broken and I felt compelled to hand carry them. I'd carry the riba too. They will look at them but usually won't be too interested in touching them.
