Avatar n tn I truly believe that stress and/or mood has been my biggest trigger. Yes, certain foods like corn get me every time. But what never fails, guaranteed makes me sick are the stressful events like going back to school, worrying about my job, trying to lose 5 pounds, etc. The best thing I do is to repeat my mantra to let go of the things I cannot change. Take a few minutes every day and try some deep breathing. I take a hot bubble bath.

562962 tn?1216236181 Has anyone heard or know anything about the Rational Recovery AVRT (Addictive Voice Recognition Therapy) which came about in or around 1995. If so any thoughts on the success?
756140 tn?1294767094 I love inspirational and motivational poems and quotes, they help so much! And thanks for the video as well!!!
199177 tn?1490498534 That is very inspirational especially for people still in earlier stages of being clean....I am so glad you stuck around to help others....I think that is important when people do that and so helpful to others! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Avatar f tn They are using the slowness in recovery - normally called plateau - inorder to stop treatment. This is a insurance/HMo term, not a medical term. Stroke recovery is extremely slow but it does keep going. You need to ask your medical staff about neuroplasticity, recovery can continue for years. Sinbce they say he is not going to get better, ask for a specific reason they are saying this(they will not be able to provide it but keep pushing).
Avatar f tn Hey everyone...I know I'm new on here, but I found something that is really helping me early on in my recovery (I'm on Day 6 opiate withdrawal), and thought I would share it in case anyone else could benefit from it as well. It's an App for Ipad or Iphone called, Recovery Box....and I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone who is fighting the fight against their addiction.
476246 tn?1418870914 Hey lovely lady...I love that "Attitude" poem/quote, it's been a favorite of mine, since I first discovered it. I love collecting "quotes", and making some quotes of my own...you never know, when just one kind word might make another's day. I like this quote [excerpted from "A Return to Love"] "...let there be the possibility of a loving purpose in everything we think and do.
Avatar f tn as I know alot of my MH friends are as well... I thought it would be cool to get some of our favorite quotes in one place.... So, here's my first favorite and I'm sure I will post others later.... Can't wait to see yours as well... " If you can't convince them, confuse them!" -HARRY S.

Avatar m tn I hope someone out there will find this inspirational, you can ask anyone that knew of my problem if they thought i would get off of them and their answer would have been a definitive no. Maybe thats where all my inspiration comes from but idk i hope this helps someone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar f tn Thank you both very much for your comments. I agree with walking. That would be a help. Also, have been considering counseling. Grew up with a mother and Grandmother obsessed with looks.
Avatar m tn I have been seeing quotes from others and writing quotes, and others in detox are requesting more. I know in my darkest hours that I chanted, "There is no problem so big that drugs can't make it worse." What has helped or is helping you? God, Grant me the serenity to Accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference.
Avatar f tn Hey Pip I had the same problem but what I did I got an app and there's tons of them that you DL & they're full of positive quotes & inspirational sayings that'll help a lot! I also go to psych/counselor and talk 1x every 2 weeks which helps a lot I wasn't a big believer at first but it does help to talk to someone who's knowledgeable in the med anxiety/panic field.
579258 tn?1250649343 Your 2nd one reminded me of looking at life through the eyes of a child. I'm sure you've noticed that with children, "everything is a miracle", so I really, really appreciated your inspirational quote by Albert Einstein. Thank you so much. I am going to reflect on this today.... My youngest (6 years old) is 1350 miles away right now (in FL), so I am hearing 2nd hand the "cute" things she is saying.
424839 tn?1268186246 My question is about these quotes I have been posting I would like to know if I posted some on religon would that offend anyone being that must would be refferancing Buddhsium but when you read the quotes the can be transfered into anyones faith so I would like to know if people would be offended thanks.
Avatar n tn my boyfriend is a recovering every drug in the book addict but his drug of choice was meth and it is taking a toll on our relationship being that i have no clue what he is going through seeing how i have never done drugs. i was wondering if anyone can give me advice as to see what he is going through and how to help him trhrough his recovery process. thank you.
Avatar f tn Be sure you're getting some exercise. Just a nice long walk every day will help. And eating right. Cut out caffeine and sugars. And talk to someone, be it a family member, a good friend, your MD or a psychologist. If you don't want to go on medications, that's fine. Just attack this with exercise, talking about it (and some good cries!) and good nutrition. Maybe some supplements too. Fish Oil and Vitamin D3 are supposed to help depression.
Avatar f tn t tell you all how much your support, advice and love for this virtual stranger has helped me continue on this journey of recovery. I am much humbled by your selflessness and thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Have a great day whatever stage you're at, and anybody thinking of jumping off their own crazy drug ride...DO IT...the light at the end of this particular tunnel is almost blindingly bright!
Avatar m tn I have seen a posting requesting an answer to a question about a drug to combat wd,s, I have a friend who is a judge and runs a very successful drug court and he stated the his court administers a drug called visiral, I'm not sure if that is the correct spelling, but he claims that it immediately arrests the craving for opiates, in his words, it is a miracle drug, one dosage type thing. Unfortunately I,m not in a position to come out to my Dr., family, & and friends.
Avatar f tn Yes, it certainly does get better! Just keep going each day. I took a long walk every morning and most days still do. Now I like to run or go to the gym, but just getting out first thing really helped me. Break up your old routine!
