I did understand and I did read your whole post. There is a difference in outpatient aftercare (NA, PA, AA) and inpatient aftercare (rehab). Rehab is obviously more intense and safer and a great thing if you're falling apart. I went and it didn't haunt me through my personal health record. It is expensive....but can you really put a price on your life and family and well being and happiness? Insurance, many times, will cover it....opiates are sometimes not covered...

So we tried admitting him (while high) to an inpatient drug rehab. He once again said he has delusions and paranoia and even admitted to coke use. He ended up in the psychiatric unit and after a week of eval. he is outpatient with a brand new scrip of psych meds even with his violent tendencies and pissing hot for coke. Anybody know why they went outpatient when is clearly abusing his medication, taking street drugs and threatening people's lives?

We are in TX and found that the outpatient rehab that was affiliated with the inpatient rehab hospital that my husband was in had water therapy.

After going home from the inpatient rehab center, is it necessary to follow up with visiting the the outpatient rehab center regularly or just continue at home the rehab exercise which be taught at rehab center?

If I remember correctly, you're trying to come off very high doses of Fentanyl and oxycodone. And did I just read yesterday that you are done for some reason with the dr that has been prescribing the patches and won't be getting any more from that dr? Maybe I dreamed that, I'm not sure....but you are down from 200 mcg to 100 on the patches, right? All things considered, your health issues and your drug history....

Well I leave Thursdays to do an inpatient detox and rehab. After several surgeries I became dependent on oxycodone 15mg 5xday. When I first realized I was addicted I tried to ct and ended up passing out due to my Bp dropping. Then I decided to taper but my dr stopped that as well because they said I needed to have a 3rd back surgery even tho my last one was in April. I'm not walking correctly, kinda hunched over.

does anyone know how much it cost to goto rehab if udont have ins.? im hooked on percs for almost 2 yrs and want my life back!! i tried to wean down just had no luck and cold turkey didnt work. please help!!

Inpatient Rehab or Intensive Outpatient rehab. I am in a foreign country right now so I have to wait about two months until I can begin whatever treatment I end up choosing. I am so ready to get clean. It so very hard to taper myself off when I have basically an unlimited supply. I know I need to do something. I am lucky enough to have great parents who have told me that I can go to any type of treatment anywhere I choose.

My 18 yr old granddaughter has been arrested for calling her boyfriend who had a restraining order against her. She also has pending, stealing cigarettes, verbal abuse to a nurse, breaking a car window in an argument with someone & we did not post bail & would like to get power of attorney & see if we can have her put in a rehab. She has been on a downward spiral for at least 4 years. We know she drinks & are pretty sure that she takes various drugs. What can we do?

I would seriously SERIOUSLY consider having him detox in a hospital or rehab center. Not only will they treat his physical state so he can detox safely, they'll help treat his alcoholism. If he's been this addicted to alcohol it's almost absolutely 100% that he'll continue drinking without going into rehab, inpatient detox, and a 12 step program.

My situation is I just finished 10 days of inpatient treatment for Opana ER. That went fine. I tapered for 4 months before inpatient tx, and the anxiety got so bad that I couldn't taper any more. I left the hospital on subs. I feel like I am addicted to subs now. And I have just gotten off the phone with a doctor at the treatment center asking whether I should come back to get off the subs. He said he wants me to try tapering first. So I am processing this info. now.

out I went to an inpatient detox. It was a hospital and I stayed for 5 days. It was an incredible experience for me. I learned so much about the problem that I had and didn't even realize. I also found out that there were so many other people who had the same problem. Some had a different DOC but at the end of the day, we were all there because we were addicts to something. I met people from all walks of life....doctors and lawyers and police officers as well as homeless people.

thats how it is in new orleans ,la. after the hurricane i was inpatient at the nicest rehab hospital just to get off xanax and vicodin. i was fine and off it with subutex and phenobarbitol in like 3 or 4 days. i just hated the way i was treated and i was forced in all the groups and all that. i was prescribed the medicine from my doctor for my medical problems and i decided i wanted to get off so i went to detox. all i want is to just detox. i will not do an inpatient detox.

I was thinking how good it would be if she could go to a rehab hospital for a week or so after this surgery. Didn't know how it could be arranged for an outpatient surgery though as admission usually has to follow an inpatient stay. I'm so glad there's a doc who knows the ropes and uses them to help an MSer recover mobility. Hang in there and heal Ess. Try not to fret too much over slow connections. We're all well acquainted with those, aren't we?

Thanks guys, the surgery is the 21st. I'll be in hospital 2 days the inpatient rehab. I shouldn't need any meds by the time I get out of rehab should I? I really don't want to bring any home or fill a script for them. Thank you for your prayers.

what will rehab do for me? im in the process of calling the ins co to see where i can go. will they give me something to stop this crazy jittery feeling? will i be not so anxious to the point of not coping? i am comin g out of my skin. i cant take it. will rehab help? or will i be in a strange room with strange people going thru the same exact thing? i cant do this alone i just cant... i need help im just not sure what i need.... i am willing and able to go for inpatient treatment.

He is paralyzed on the left side, has vision and swallowing problems, but can speak/communicate well and his mind is very sharp. He was sent to an acute care rehab hospital on 1/5/08. m not certain where you live but in your situation I would recommend an inpatient detox and rehab program. The reason is you show high enthusiasm and readiness to address your addiction head on and because it is placing stress on your family, an inpatient program can provide you a safe environment in which to detox, learn new coping strategies and get established with aftercare. The inpatient programs are highly recommended for people with minimal suppot.

I was bleeding and cramping and the hospital believed I could be miscarrying. They suggested bedrest for a week. The rehab medically discharged me at that point. I was in no way ready to leave. I needed to be there and needed the help, badly. I had lost almost everything when I entered that rehab and to leave early was the wrong choice. I eventually relapsed again about a month ago. This time to methadone. I am scared, have been thrown out of my home and am losing both my girls.

going away to rehab is scary, but if this is what it will take to get u clean, then i suggest checking in to inpatient rehab. are u talking about crystal meth?/methadon?. getting clean is tough, beyond tough, but the fight is worth it. u need to do whatever it takes right now. i would suggest start by finding an N/A meeting. getting a good support group is essential for any addict so i hope u stick around, u can learn a lot here. best of luck to you. fight with all u have.

Ask your MD about inpatient rehab. Because w/d can be hellish. Also let your physician perhaps \\suggest a suppot program and psychotherapy, also a pain specialist that can help you w/o opiates.

Well now im in negotiations with the da and they want me to go back to in patient rehab to get the charges dropped. 28 days in rehab. ive never gotten more than 60 days while in in patient. i got my 112 by going to meetings, working and just doing ordinary stuff. I cant go back to inpatient im starting school i have a job my own apartment and im doing well. I had a court case today. Its really bugging me because my lawyer hasnt called me yet to let me know the news.

I know I'm going to have to go into rehab to come off the Xanax but I'm just curious about what they do to you, give you and how it feels? Is it like a hospital setting or more laid back and relaxed? How long would you have to stay in order to come off a medication like Xanax?
