rehab

Avatar f tn I did understand and I did read your whole post. There is a difference in outpatient aftercare (NA, PA, AA) and inpatient aftercare (rehab). Rehab is obviously more intense and safer and a great thing if you're falling apart. I went and it didn't haunt me through my personal health record. It is expensive....but can you really put a price on your life and family and well being and happiness? Insurance, many times, will cover it....opiates are sometimes not covered...
Avatar m tn So we tried admitting him (while high) to an inpatient drug rehab. He once again said he has delusions and paranoia and even admitted to coke use. He ended up in the psychiatric unit and after a week of eval. he is outpatient with a brand new scrip of psych meds even with his violent tendencies and pissing hot for coke. Anybody know why they went outpatient when is clearly abusing his medication, taking street drugs and threatening people's lives?
Avatar n tn inpatient rehab is a must for some, and i have been to a couple.
Avatar m tn It takes a lot of courage to go into inpatient rehab. Its not an easy thing to do to admit that you can't control your drug habit. Most people can't admit that the drugs control them addicts think there in control. I guess if you live in insanity for a long time it starts to feel normal. How many days are you going in for rehab?
Avatar m tn going away to rehab is scary, but if this is what it will take to get u clean, then i suggest checking in to inpatient rehab. are u talking about crystal meth?/methadon?. getting clean is tough, beyond tough, but the fight is worth it. u need to do whatever it takes right now. i would suggest start by finding an N/A meeting. getting a good support group is essential for any addict so i hope u stick around, u can learn a lot here. best of luck to you. fight with all u have.
Avatar f tn Well I leave Thursdays to do an inpatient detox and rehab. After several surgeries I became dependent on oxycodone 15mg 5xday. When I first realized I was addicted I tried to ct and ended up passing out due to my Bp dropping. Then I decided to taper but my dr stopped that as well because they said I needed to have a 3rd back surgery even tho my last one was in April. I'm not walking correctly, kinda hunched over.
Avatar f tn Okay I have just been informed I have to go inpatient by a counselor for rehab. I have already detoxed myself off drugs. So I wonder what will it be like, if anybody has been in a recovery inpatient facility and what to expect especially since I am already off the meds. I am trying to be open minded about this but find it ridiculous to be inpatient for detox when I've done that. Maybe they will offer me a drug screen so I can prove I am drug free and maybe do some outpt therapy instead.
Avatar n tn Inpatient is not the only road you can take but it is the best. While you are in you usually can't smoke, you get to detox under constant supervision, and you get a lot of education. Education about the effects of drugs on your brain and education about yourself. You can also make friends in there and it is nice to see other people in the same position as you. I would actually recommend it to somebody who isn't abusing any substances.
Avatar f tn Ok. Thanks so much. No more suboxone. I'm going to inpatient rehab any day now and I don't want to be detoxing there.
6815927 tn?1395511425 All things considered, your health issues and your drug history....going to inpatient detox would be one of the best gifts you give yourself. If we wait for that moment of "absolute certainity"....we won't ever do anything. No road is the "wrong" road....it will fork....or lead you to another road. From all I remember about your life situation.....going to inpatient detox regardless of whether it's at a hospital or rehab.....is a GOOD thing to do.
Avatar n tn i voluntarily put myself into an 18 month drug rehab in 1993. i was about to lose my kids. i had to do something. they made me detox for 3 days prior in a hospital. it was a really good program. they helped anyone with drivers license problems, fines, court ****, etc. i was able to take nursing classes. they help ed me find a job, save money, and have a place to live so that i slowly re-entered the "normal" world.
Avatar m tn I am new to this forum. I have been using oxy intravenously for 3 months now. I got out of rehab and only made it one month before I went back. My life """"ks! I have hurt my parents physically and financially. They paid everything they had to put me through rehab and here I am back again. I have no money, no job and don't know where to turn. I am in my early 20s and want my life back. I was an athelete and had tons of friends.
Avatar f tn Inpatient Rehab or Intensive Outpatient rehab. I am in a foreign country right now so I have to wait about two months until I can begin whatever treatment I end up choosing. I am so ready to get clean. It so very hard to taper myself off when I have basically an unlimited supply. I know I need to do something. I am lucky enough to have great parents who have told me that I can go to any type of treatment anywhere I choose.
Avatar m tn does anyone know how much it cost to goto rehab if udont have ins.? im hooked on percs for almost 2 yrs and want my life back!! i tried to wean down just had no luck and cold turkey didnt work. please help!!
5901196 tn?1395543909 Hello! My name is Dee. I'm 53 yrs. old, have 3 adult sons and 8 grandchildren. My history of drug use is very long, 30-33 yrs., so I'll just get to it. (I have to thank God right now for letting me have a home and my family.) I got off Suboxone about a month ago. What I need advice on is this: Even though I'm clean, I'd like to go to inpatient drug rehab, (at least a 30 day program), to work thru all of these emotions that are coming to the surface.
Avatar m tn So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.
401786 tn?1309152034 can't help with the meth but I can answer here other questions on her arms lol
Avatar m tn What drugs is he on? He really needs to go to a rehab inpatient. It will get him clean, if he goes to NA OR AA after the treatment that helps alot. Sometimes for people it takes afew tries of getting up and falling back down, depending on the drug its not an easy road for most people to get clean.
Avatar m tn m not certain where you live but in your situation I would recommend an inpatient detox and rehab program. The reason is you show high enthusiasm and readiness to address your addiction head on and because it is placing stress on your family, an inpatient program can provide you a safe environment in which to detox, learn new coping strategies and get established with aftercare. The inpatient programs are highly recommended for people with minimal suppot.
Avatar f tn we finally detoxed husband who has been on shabu for about 4 years (not heavy user, but started displaying paranoia etc recently). do we need to enrol him in an inpatient rehab facility? or can he stay clean on his own as he promised (he totally regret using it, sorry for all the pain he gave us)? he promises to visit the doctor and subject to random drug testing too. how addictive is shabu really?
Avatar n tn My 18 yr old granddaughter has been arrested for calling her boyfriend who had a restraining order against her. She also has pending, stealing cigarettes, verbal abuse to a nurse, breaking a car window in an argument with someone & we did not post bail & would like to get power of attorney & see if we can have her put in a rehab. She has been on a downward spiral for at least 4 years. We know she drinks & are pretty sure that she takes various drugs. What can we do?
Avatar f tn I know I'm going to have to go into rehab to come off the Xanax but I'm just curious about what they do to you, give you and how it feels? Is it like a hospital setting or more laid back and relaxed? How long would you have to stay in order to come off a medication like Xanax?
725350 tn?1318680468 A lot of you know my story. I'm a 23 year old recovering drug addict. Before I got clean I was taking about 400mg of oxy every day. I have been clean now for over 14 months, thanks to AA/NA programs. Here's my question: A lot of people on here (I was one of them when I first started surfing the forum ages ago) know they have a drug problem and are addicted, but have ruled out the possibility of going to an inpatient facility to detox and begin recovery.
Avatar n tn Hello, I'm hoping someone who understands addiction could help. My 21 yr. old son is an addict. He's been in rehab a few times in the past 4 years. His drug of choice is mainly marijuana, but he's used cocaine, oxcy and various other drugs and he drinks. Over the last month... he began drinking a lot, smoking pot a lot, snorting coke and doing a bit of this or that (I'm not sure).
Avatar f tn s usually two basic types of rehab, inpatient (where you stay there....like in a dorm) and out patient (where you go during the day but sleep in your own bed). I'm assuming that "extensive" means you'll be going either all day long, or for an extended period of time (usually either 6 weeks or 3 months).
Avatar f tn My daughter has had a drug addiction to many drugs, went to rehab, but when she came out, went right back to the drugs, her doctor wants to start her on a suboxone detox. Is this a good idea, since she doesn't do drugs every day, but when she does, she does have withdrawl symptoms because of the inconsistency in use.
1895503 tn?1332373374 I recently went through detox and rehab for Opana ER, which was long and very challenging. Now I am on 12 mg Suboxone a day taken in three doses of 4mg. I have just started to get what I think are withdrawal symptoms between dosing--muscles in my upper and mid-back tighten up and ache and I get a little anxious. I am wondering if other people experience the same thing, and what they have done about it.....
