Avatar f tn as well as being able to feel my femoral vein running down my inner thigh to my knee cap, which I’m not sure if it’s normal to be able to feel that vein on the skin or not. But I’ve been having inner thigh pain and calf pain when I walk. Is this a serious issue or just common with varicose veins? I’m thinking about seeing my PC doc.
Avatar n tn This essentially means a softening of the cartilage of the knee cap. The anatomical sources of pain in this area is now considered to be from the richly innervated subchondral bone (bone below the articular cartilage), infrapatellar fat pad, or the medial and lateral retinaculum of the joint. “...certain mechanical conditions may predispose you to a mistracking knee cap. ” Cartilage does not have the same blood supply that bone does.
Avatar f tn Today while running up the stairs I fell and landed on my left knee, it has three small bruises (inner side) about an inch from the knee cap, although the whole area hurts, it's not all bruised... is it something I should worry about?

Avatar n tn Just 2 days ago I performed a leg workout, and came home with a dull ache and stiffness in my left inner calf/ inner lower knee part as well, Not excruciating pain or anything, just a dull pain. The next day, different parts of my left calf, and hamstring have been twitching all day, when I am just sitting or laying. My right leg has also been a little bit too, but not near as much as my left leg.
Avatar n tn Lack of progress and improvement becomes understandable when one considers that typical evaluation and treatment are directed at the symptoms. But with chronic knee pain, and many other pain syndromes, actual benefits may be obtained by addressing underlying biomechanical problems. Faulty biomechanics are at the root of many ongoing knee problems. Of course, various other diseases and orthopedic conditions may cause the same type of chronic pain.

Avatar n tn Hi I am 15. I have had pain in both of my knees from excessive running. And I would like to know what it is that is wrong with my knees. I went to the doctor and he diagnosed me but I lost the paper. So I do not know what is called. The pain is under both sides of my knee cap. It occurs when I go down stairs; bend my knees to jump, and thrust forward on a bike.

Avatar n tn I have for the last month developed inner knee pain. Feels like an electrical jolt at times. Is not a constant pain but wakes my up at night.
Avatar f tn Had surgery to remove the ostheocondroma at the age of 13, which resided on the inner part of right knee. Around 20, it started bothering me again. Couldn't sit or stand in the same position for long, walking long distances and running meant I had to wear something around my knee and, after sitting at the office for too long, when getting up, I just couldn't extent my leg without a bit of force, let's say.

Avatar m tn And then 2 days ago, 20 days from possible exposure I got this horrible pain (like a charley horse) in my right leg. It went from my inner thigh, down the back of my leg to the back of my knee. My calve muscle was even twitching a little. Never experienced anything like this. It was bad enough I could not sleep, but I could walk fine. It did not hurt to touch. Thinking I was probably dehydrated, I drank plenty of water the next day and ate a couple bananas for the potassium.
Avatar m tn First I woke up with lower back pain, then the knees. Inner medal bone on bone. Both legs. Just like that, BAM! It has never gotten worst or better. I would expect a change. That is my concern. Does this seem odd? Why no change? I would assume it would get worse. It seems odd too that I can ride a bike, sit, sleep like heavy things with little to no pain but standing and walking running kill me. I have tried Stem cell and pnp injection twice. All the super foods do nothing.
Avatar f tn My knee is stiff and painful today underneath the knee cap where the pes anserine tendon inserts and to the inside of the knee cap (medially). I also have pain in the middle of the back of the knee, is especially sharp if I push into it. In terms of comfort and daily activities, I am having no trouble walking except that my knee will get a little swollen (very slight) and stiff if I walk a lot.
Avatar n tn I had a patella realignment procedure in April. My knee has healed great and is pain free. I'm back to doing all physical activity - except running. The knee feels excellent; however, I have alot of pain at the graft site on the tibia when I try to run. My three month follow up x-rays showed the bone was healing excellent, the screws were in place, and the grafted piece was in perfect alignment with my tibia. Is the bone pain normal, and is there anything I can do to speed the recovery?
1470596 tn?1286713970 I had this problem and realised thanks to my physio, that I overpronated when running. This can cause knee problems which is why I needed to buy shoes with arch support which stops the foot rolling inwards. For walking you can buy orthotic insoles but I would not recommend running with these. I use Adistar Salvations to run. A good running shop will check you for pronation before you buy. Also this might seem obvious but are you stretching before and after running.
Avatar m tn The outside of my left knee (the left side) clicks whenever I'm bearing weight on it and I bend it more than about 45 degrees. When I touch it, what feels like a bone just above and to the left of the kneecap pops out a little bit. My right knee (which is fine) does something similar but much more subtle and I can't feel it unless I'm actually touching it.

Avatar f tn Now, it still hurts to walk for a long time on it and sometimes while sitting I have an aching pain. The main area of the pain is on the inner part of my left knee. If anyone knows of what could be wrong or what could help, I would grately appreciate it.
