1257808 tn?1322762215 I had an inguinal hernia. Got out of surgery around 14 days ago. I had an open mesh repair. I have documented my surgery and recovery here: www.myhernia.co.
Avatar m tn ve had a hydrocele surgery at the age of six, left side inguinal hernia surgery at the age of 10, and a right side inguinal hernia surgery at the age of 24. My right testicle have been attached closer to my body since my hydrocele surgery and I can clearly remember how uncomfortable it felt to have such an abnormal position of your testicle. After 20 years, I still feel some discomforting pains (on my right testicle) when exercising.
Avatar f tn Yes, I think a hernia can go into the scrotum. Hernia pain can also come and go. https://www.urologyhealth.
Avatar f tn So I had a inguinal hernia repair about 2weeks ago on my left side and everything has been going good I hope I’m just a really worried person on account that I try not to do much ...
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have a hernia, probably not an inguinal hernia, they tend to bulge down into the scrotum. There is another hernia near there, can't remember the name. I have had 6 children with inguinal hernias. Only one of them had pain before we had them repaired...he was 13 and it was bulging into his scrotum. You do not want to wait until you have pain. I personally think your doctor gave you bad advice. A hernia can become a big deal sometimes.
Avatar f tn Hey has anyone had a robotic Hernia surgery done before? I have two inguinal hernias and I wanted to know if the recovery time is quicker than a traditional laparoscopic? Thanks!
Avatar m tn After I had hernia surgery Surrey I was told not to do anything that could prevent by recovery.
Avatar f tn i have had chronic pain in my lower right abdomen for almost 8 years. what started out as a simple inguinal hernia repair has been a nightmare. the doc put the mesh patch in for "good measure". the adhesions are massive. from many doctors i have been diagnosed as having probably 3 nerve paths trapped in the adhesions. The inguinal, hypogastric and genital femerol nerves are all involved. After years and years of procedures I have not had any pain relief that lasted more than a day.
Avatar m tn I had laparoscopic surgery to repair an inguinal hernia. After 4 months, the hernia returned, and so I had a second repair surgery by incision. Now, 10 months after the second operation, I'm having some odd "tearing" pains and tenderness under the incision site, and down toward my groin. I'm trying to understand the geometry of the two repairs.

Avatar f tn I had hernia surgery a year ago, not too long after the surgery i realized that it was back. I didn't think anything about it, but the past month I have had really bad pain, worse pain than when I got it fixed the first time. The doctor just used permanent sutures the first time, is there any way that I could have this surgery without having to have the mesh screen put in this time? Also, my abdominal muscles are separated pretty bad, could I ask the general surgeon about diastasis repair?
Avatar n tn If there are complications, such as the presence of an inguinal hernia, an incision is made in the groin area. This approach allows the doctor to repair the hernia or other complicating factors at the same time as correcting the hydrocele. Some surgeons use a minimally invasive laparoscopic approach to repair a hydrocele.
Avatar m tn I had prior scans 2006 showing inguinal hernia. I also had sigmoidectomy surgery in 2007. Next thing up is the gallbladder surgery in Nov 2011. Should the surgeon have used Laprascopic procedure versus Open surgery? Gallbladder removal went ok, I think, but I woke up the next day and after walking a little discovered huge swelling to left groin area. Bottom line I went into get gallbladder removed now I need OPEN Hernia surgery to repair inguinal hernia.
202436 tn?1326474333 Has anyone every had any experience with this? What type of surgery was done and how long was the recovery time? What type of limitations were set after the surgery and for how long? DH is our only source of income at this point and while this is most likely going to be a workmans comp issue I want to be prepared. Thanks for any insight!
Avatar n tn I got operation on 11/30/2011 for multiple inguinal hernia. Bilateral scope surgery. I had this hernia for over 15 years. As of right now I feel tenderness and throbing in my left scrotum. "the same EXACT pain i had when I had my hernia" I was constipated for about 4 days. after 4 days I was ok using restroom. I have to use it now however I have pain in scrotum and scared to use any muscles cause it feels like something will bust out of my testicles if I try pushing. Please help.
Avatar m tn Sometimes, post inguinal hernia repair there are new sensations (such as a tight feeling upon ejaculation) probably a result of scar tissue in the inguinal canal. But most men eventually lose those sensations and in some cases it is several years before that happens. I'd give it some more time. You probably had a more invasive than usual repair and more scar tissue than usual, but I can't say. The impotence thing is unlikely related in any way to the surgery.
Avatar m tn I know many doctors and health professionals have a sceptical view on people who self diagnose, but I'm slightly embarrassed about this issue and it's beginning to cause me some problems.
442658 tn?1563386491 Most hernias in puppies are umbilical hernias that appear as a little bubble where the umbililcal cord was attached, and they are caused at birth by the mother chewing the cord off too vigorously and too short. The chewing and pulling on the umbilical cord causes a tear in the wall and the hernia is formed. In most cases of umbilical hernias, unless they are so large that they are a threat to the dog's health in the way of the intestines slipping through them, they are left alone.
Avatar n tn hernia is any protrusion of visceral part to the skin. in inguinal hernia the inguinal ligament protrudes thru the skin. this may be due to the weakness of underlyiny structures in that region. it requires a very small surgery in which the protrude part is again fitted back to its position. but u didnot respond to it during initial stages because of which it has now extended and has come out of the skin leading to infection and pus formation. you must see to a dr as soon as possible.
Avatar n tn Even as an adult my right would at times retract into the inguinal canal. In 2006 I had a hernia repair and after that no longer have the right testicle retract in the inguinal canal. I don't think that there is much to worry about if the testicle at times moves up towards the abdomen. I'm now 45 and have 3 children, so there is no worry about firtility. I hope that this gives you some answers. If the testicle is in the scrotum most of the time, than there is nothing to worry about.
Avatar n tn another thing , he is telling me that i have to stay away from weightlifting for about 6 weeks , does recovery from this surgery take that long , i heard that it takes about 2 to 3 weeks , why is he telling me 6 weeks ?
Avatar m tn It is not uncommon to have fat containing inguinal hernia which is benign. Also lipomas can also occur in that area that is also a benign finding. Lymphadenopathy would certainly need to be ruled out in the case of a lump that you feel but it seems that CT did not detect any enlarged lymph nodes. CT is probably the most accurate in this case.
Avatar n tn Hey I also had a inguinal hernia, I believe my car accident caused this. The problem was I am female so everyone thought it was an ovarian cyst and I actually had laproscopy only to have the bump come back in a month. Turns out he cut the hernia open. Even with ultrasounds and ct scans they couldnt see it because you have to lay on your back. Finally after 9 years of pain I had surgery and it was so worth it. You will have pain till you heal.
Avatar f tn I had Bilateral Inguinal Hernia Repair in 2012. It was a very painful recovery. The doc prescribed Vicoprophen for 1 month with a refill. I only took for 3 days and tossed the rest. It was painful yes, but I remembered how painful the detox was years ago and decided the pain from the surgery wasnt as bad as pain accompanied with all the other stuff that comes with detox. (Sleepless night, bathroom issues, depression, anxiety, restless leg, nausea, etc...etc) Good luck with the surgery...
