5353702 tn?1367886247 Thanks for the informative reply. I am a new member and trying to learn the mechanics; maybe the intended reply went nowhere due to operator error (me).
414635 tn?1272217693 I'm sure you have noticed that when you post a question all of the topics listed are about pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Walking on toes may signal neurological issues. That can be characteristic of children with ASD (autism spectrum disorders). How is he with conversations? Does he start conversations? Initiate play? Takes turns? What about his play skills - does he engage in imaginative play? Does he imitate you or peers? My child (4.5) has some borderline ASD characteristics, although some doctors are positive that he does not have it, and some are not so sure...His teachers do not think he has ASD.
293157 tn?1285873439 s part and parcel of the MS speech and communication issues, and I know it very well lol i think technically its called dysphonia. When it's happening and I answer the phone, I often get mistaken for a man or can't get my voice loud enough to be heard, oh and I'm constantly having people commenting on how sick i sound. If I had a dollar for every time someone said "ohhhhh you poor thing you sound so bad, have you tried......
Avatar m tn doctors can help you with the choice of therapies (speech therapy, OT, social skills classes, behavior modification). If you can not affort the private evaluation, you live in the US and he is turning 3, you need to call your local public school district for help. The school district will need to help you free of charge.
1961938 tn?1398718101 I am giving a persuasion speech about natural child birth. I figure its a good topic because I want to know all about it before I do it anyways lol. Anyways do any of you ladies have good resources on the topic? Even resources pro interventions are welcome. I don't want to be so narrow minded in my speech ;) also birth stories of natural births and others would be very helpful.
84015 tn?1211461201 I see you have been on here a long time, so you have probably read a lot of posts. Please look back in your memory as to what you have read for ideas. Also, we don't know how long you would be allowed to speak, and who you will be speaking to. If you only will be speaking to other graduates, then speak about what you have suggested above, not only for him, but praise the others. They will need that also. Speak about how important aftercare is.
Avatar f tn “One of the reasons is that I want a forum where people can have intelligent informative discussions and where free speech is given a high priority; but not a place that is totally unmoderated,” explains the Lyme patient who lives in Friesland, a northern province in the Netherlands. His other website LymeNet Nederland is in the Dutch language. This article is about LymeNet Europe because of my language limitations.
Avatar n tn Thanks so much for your informative comments. The doctors thought it might be POTS, however they thought the lack of speech combined with the 3-10 hour right arm spasms/tremors were not symptoms of this disorder. So have you heard of these symptoms with POTS? The Midodrine appears to be helping, as she has had only one episode in the past few weeks since she started this medication. THanks again!
770551 tn?1305578901 My son has been seeing a dr to try to get help with some behavior issues. At school he can not sit still and often goes into what we call his wild man, attacking other children, ripping things off the walls. He is O.K. with one on one but horrible in a group. Even with other children will only play with them one at a time. He can never tell me the names of anyone he's played with. He walks on his tippy toes and drools.
Avatar n tn why would you say that to me?? is that related to the topic I posted?? do you think I have nothing to do and wasting my time here posting stuffes here and therE?? why don't you just answer my question enthusiastically if you are really here to help?? are you saying i'm creating too much nickname here?? you're wrong...it's my first time,,,maybe it's very similar to whoever was it posted here...but definitely not the same one...
572651 tn?1530999357 I found two pieces of information that I would like to share with you here - the first is a research article I found at Nursingtimes, a UK organization for nurses. One of their specialties is continence nursing and there were many informative articles there. Of interest to us is one titled Pelvic Floor training for lower urinary tract dysfunction in MS . Did you know that 50% of us with MS develop bladder problems within the first 5 years of our dx?
Avatar f tn m not a health care professional so am not qualified to answer your questions. When I originally setup my profile i thought i was setting topics that i would hear about not set myself as a subject matter expert.
Avatar f tn I think that is the only thing that can help me I am in so much pain today.....I was tapper from 140 mlgs oxy for six months and was at 70 with the help of my doctor, well I went down to 40 a day 4 days ago and the hell has started.
Avatar m tn I presented about 1 year ago complaining of slightly slurred speech (and a noticeable qualitative decline in penmanship) and got an mri, which showed lesions of endetermined age on the brain. Since that time I have continued to self assess speech mildly worsening along with a significant depreciation in handwriting ability. I have incurred financial hardship during this period and would like to have another mri now but that request has been denied...however a spinal tap has been approved.
524608 tn?1244418161 I know...I have lost my freakin mind...I don't know how I did that and I did it twice! I hope I get my brain back after tx!
Avatar f tn Well you're certainly not alone! If you try to google "child licks hands", google completes the phrase after just typing in "child licks". There are theories that it's related to autism, and many say it's not related to a disorder, but rather, anxiety. It will be informative what your doctor says.
Avatar f tn t share well, makes goofy noises at times, and, literally, does not stop talking, even on medication for ADHD. His persistent need to talk, comment on the topics being taught in class, correcting others, etc., aggravate others and, thus, he is teased alot and has been the recipient of a lot of bullying. Additionally, he has difficulty writing notes from dictation, from the board, and a lot of difficulty getting his thoughts on paper.
Avatar f tn It seemed to loosen up my speech a little. then on the way home there were times when my speech seemed a little crazy. I just found out from my boyfriend that he thinks I have sleep apnea also, but apparently this has happened on and off for two years and I have always snored so I assume that this would not be another sign of MND. It is just so scary.
