I had a really bad pain in my ear yesterday, so I went to see a doctor, and he put me on antibiotics for an ear infection. Just recently, I was laying down and felt a drainage of some sort in the ear, and I carefully put a cotton swab to the edge of my ear to clean it, and found a bit of blood. When I went to check again with a fresh cotton swab, there was no more blood. An hour later, and still no trace of blood since then.
after the surgery my father complained of pain on the ribs and there was profused drainage from the wound. he is a diabetic too. on an MRI scan it was revealed that the wire caused infection and he was read9 admitted( 6 months after the surgery) and 4 out of 6 wires were removed.
It turned out that I had a sinus infection and the reason I had nasea and vomiting was because of the infected sinus drainage. I was given a medication to help dry up the drainage and an antibiotic. Once the infection was cleared up, the nasuea and vomiting went away. At the time I didn't have gerd.

When the endodontist saw the infection, he said he could not do the root canal because the infection was too severe. He sent me to an oral surgeon who did surgery to drain the area. My left cheek swelled up then went down within a day or 2. I was on antibiotics (clindamycin) for 2 weeks after. Since the surgery,(drainage) I have had numbness in my entire left cheek extending down and including my left side of my lip. I also have a small droop to the left side of my mouth.

On Monday morning I woke with an ear infection. I went to the doctor right away and was given Otic Edge, told to continue an antibiotic I was already on, to call if it wasn't felling better in a couple of days, and to schedule a recheck for a week later. It could have been aggravated by a dental infection . Since sometimes the roots of teeth are very close or inside the sinus , periapical infection of the tooth may cause pus formation in the sinus . If the pus doesn’t come out through the tooth canals , it is likely that discharge will be through the nose . Please consult your dentist and ENT surgeon for examination and diagnosis. It sounds like a minor infection of the fungal kind. A nurse I know told me that belly buttons are prime real estate for infections because they are moist and warm and dark. Use a little rubbing alcohol and see if you can buy some anti fungal cream otc. If it doesn't clear up on its own within a few days, have him call his doc to get an rx cream.
I have had sinus drainage for 3 weeks. I went to the doctor and got a shot and it didn't work. I don't have an infection because it is all clear. However I can't get any sleep at night because as soon as I get asleep I wake up coughing and sometimes I feel like choking. because it draines down my throat and wakes me up. Please tell me what I can do besides going to the doctor?
It is possible to get infections of the ear canal (external ear infection) as well as an infection of the middle ear (if there is a hole in the ear drum, drainage can escape to the ear canal). A careful exam of the ear by a physician will help differentiate the two. If there is an infection, you would need treatment with antibiotics. Using Q tips in the ear canal is not the best idea. It tends to push wax in further rather than remove anything.
last few days my 12-yr-old cat has had severe eye drainage of his left eye along with difficulity in opening the eye all the way....I do not see evidence of any pus, the drainage is clear...I gave him an eye wash with warm water that seemed to help temporarily, but his eye went back to draining...he is also less active as he has a favorite toy that he has not wanted to play with...is this a simple eye irritation or should I be considered of something else...
Well, it may not be strep if he hasn't done a strep test or culture. Do you have pus in your throat or did you? Do you have a high fever/ He is probably just treating for a variety of bacteria. Yes if you haven't cleared the sore throat and ear infection (which could also be viral. You should really get cultures done if it hasn't cleared or clarify if he thinks it is viral but is treating empircally to make sure you don't get a secondary infection such as pneumonia.
My 2 year old developed a bump on her bottom area (almost her back). I'm pretty sure it is a staph infection.. However,today (day 3) it started draining, but it's not like anything I've seen before.. it started out normal yellowish, but then turned basically blackish colored pus. Is this ok/normal? Should I drain it on out, leave it, dr??
