Avatar n tn It is very rewarding, but I am having a great deal of trouble getting insurance. I wanted to get an individual policy, high deductible, with the physicians we use in the network. The problem is that I have a benign arrthymia known as PACs (premature atrial contractions). I have been assured by my internist and cariologist that there is no problem, and no treatment is required.

Anyone know if I could somehow get them to get a jump start on it if I tell them I may be experiencing one or think I am going to have another miscarriage?
Avatar f tn You have cirrhosis that is decompensating. So you are in the final stage of liver disease. Commonly called End-Stage Liver Disease (ESLD). It time you will need a liver transplant. No one can say how long before your need a transplant as each individual progresses at different rates. You need to be under the care of an experienced hepatologist (a liver specialist) as they are the only doctor that is qualify to treat someone with ESLD.

Avatar m tn A few months after cataract surgery, I started experiencing blurred vision and double vision that has become quite debilitating. The surgeon wants to remove the current IOLs and replace them. I am not getting good vibes about a positive and permanent good outcome. I am getting a second opinion. My question is whether it would be safest to simply remove the IOLs? I realize I would need to wear strong glasses or contacts but if it would permanently fix the problem I would consider it.
Avatar f tn My husband's insurance rate sky rocketed Also and we had to drop the insurance. Luckily we found out that I would approve for a type of pregnancy Medicaid called kancare. I live in Kansas. It took a couple weeks to be approved but they cover for me back a few months. This all happened last week at almost 35 weeks. I would jump on getting state insurance they cover you 100% and believe me it's a huge weight off your shoulders.

1530342 tn?1405016490 html WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A federal judge refused Thursday to block a new Kansas law restricting insurance coverage for abortions, saying opponents failed to prove their claim that legislators' real intent was to create obstacles for women seeking abortions. The law prohibits insurance companies from offering abortion coverage as part of general health plans, except when a woman's life is at risk.
Avatar f tn t have insurance so he went to SD for dentist since it was the cheapest and we asked if they accept Iowa state insurance and they told us no. Avatar f tn We are interested in people that have had blurred vision, trouble with light arcs, either dark or light spots mission in the peripheral vision and that have had to undergo a neuroophthalmology work up especially if MRI or CT scans were done and that the final result is that it was due to the multifocal IOL. We have about 5-6 cases so far. We are presently working on getting approval from the research committees at the U of K hospital to proceed.
Avatar f tn Can small cortical cataracts cause ghosting an/or blurred vision to be MUCH worse in contact lenses than glasses?
Avatar m tn No other doctor ever really mentioned it except one a couple of years ago that gave me prisms in my eye-glasses for it but that just caused double-vision. Another optometrist, after the prisms, gave me eye-glasses without them stating my brain was ignoring the bad eye and they wouldn't work together anyway so why spend the extra money. I am wondering, at age 32, if I am beyond help with it other than surgery which my insurance will not cover.
211940 tn?1267881266 The two year wait only applies if you go from work to SSD. If you apply and are accepted for needs based you get Medicaid right away. With health care reform there is a high risk insurance you can get. You can't have had insurance for six months and it is $500 a month premium more or less. Those of us in the advocacy community are continuing to lobby to change the law. Law makers came up with it to discourage those in the work force from seeking SSD.

Avatar n tn Hi, I need some help. I recently went to have my yearly examination, at a new doctor because I've moved since my last exam. My previous presciption was -3.5 OD,-3.75 OS. Well, she did the exam and told me my eyesight was now -4.0 OD,-4.50 OS. That seems like a drastic change in one year, right? Well, OK so she gave me new contacts and I've noticed that I cannot focus with them. Literally, my eyes constantly cross, I can't maintain straight vision. Is my prescription too strong??

The results are excellent but it is more expensive, many surgeons do not have experience with it. Most surgeons can come within +/- 0.50 diopter of planned target in spherical eyes.
