Avatar m tn Could there be a cyst under the vein or an aneurysm? It is on my lefthand index finger between the knuckle and first joint. I am a 65-year-old woman and did not injure the site.
Avatar n tn My problem is that my index finger falls asleep when I write or even scroll with a computer mouse. Even when I exercise the index finger starts tingling. Its really weird this has never happened to me before. Can you help? I'm not sure if its serious enough to see a doctor. Thanks for your help in advance.
Avatar m tn All fingers are dexterous, I can feel pressure when applied and nerves seem ok. The index finger is burned on the area near the nail bed including the nail itself, the burn is isolated to the right side of the nail and finger. My question being what will a Doctor do to ease my pain and help the healing process?
Avatar n tn Back in March I was holding a little girl that was standing on my lap and she lost her balance and squatted down. My hand was behind her knee and my right index finger popped and then hurt really bad for awhile. I assumed it would go away and it didn't. A few days later I went to urgent care. They took x-rays and saw nothing and told me to take ibuprofen and continue to use it like normal.
Avatar m tn In slipped disc or disc prolapse conditions symptoms may originate due to nerve root pressure, pressure on the spinal cord and pressure on the tail bone. Common symptoms could be paralysis of muscles, pain radiating to the arms or legs, leg pain and numbness, tingling, or weakness. Warning symptoms can include loss of control of the bladder function, numbness/pain at genital areas, paralysis & spasticity of both the legs.
Avatar m tn My index finger has chronic pain when it is exposed to cold temps. or if my circulation is lessened in that arm. It's just that finger and only at the finger nail, cuticle area. The feeling is similar to getting it smashed into something. Also, when no pain is present, if I hit it ever so slightly on something, it might as well have been smashed in a door, the feeling would be the same!
Avatar m tn My question is regarding the first joint of my right hand index finger. I believe it is called the proximal interphalangeal joint. The joint has been very sensitive to the touch for a few weeks with no sign of abating. The joint also hurts a little if I bend it fully, but not nearly as much as if I just touch it with a little pressure. I do not see any outward signs of injury. It is not red or swollen. I have no similar pains in any other fingers or joints.
Avatar f tn I am a 56 years old female and in relatively good health. I take one medication for hbp. Recently the middle joints of my little fingers are very tender, red and tend to be very itchy, if that makes any sense and I've also begun noticing some tiny red nodules at the first joint of my index fingers and little fingers. Some times the nodules are a little more pronouced than other times.
645800 tn?1466860955 I guess going to that one appointment was more than I should have done. Oh and I am more convinced than ever that the index finger pain is MS. Yesterday when I got up my right shin has been feeling like it is broken just like the index finger does.
3095819 tn?1341019345 my left foot is swollen at the front of my foot and toes. it hurts tremendously. my index finger and the area around my index finger on my right hand is swollen and hurts real bad too. my heel on my left foot hurts as well and my neck. i've been aching all over lately, but the worst parts are my foot, hand and neck. i have a serious lack of movement in all those areas and my muscles hurt too. i've been to about 7 different doctors and nobody has been able to diagnose me with anything.
Avatar m tn Recently my index finger on my right hand is sensitive to pressure in the digital pulp area. The pain or sensitivity is toward the medial side on the distal phalanx. I am not sure what caused it. I have full flexion in the joint, just pressure pain when touching and object. On a scale of one to ten with ten being the highest, the pain is about a 5. However, I am unable to comfortably use a guitar pick when playing guitar. What is going on? Should I see a medical doctor?

Avatar f tn Which part of the finger is painful and does it affect both hands? Aside from the finger pain, what other symptoms are present? Finger pain is pain may be attributed to rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, injury, blood flow problems, nerve problems and even from conditions such as diabetes. Try to avoid activities that cause or worsen pain. Anti-inflammatory medication can also help. If it persists, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper diagnosis.
Avatar n tn My right index finger has been swollen for a month now. the knuckle is painful to the touch, but i'm able to bend it. Any ideas what it could be?? Thanks for any help!
Avatar n tn I have this problem, burning pain between index finger and 2nd finger. I cannot clench my fist unless I straighten index finger then I can make fist with the other three. I have never heard of this before, so if you have no answer I will have to goto.
Avatar m tn I am 23 year old female and have enchondroma on my left hand index finger. Should i get it operated? What diffrence will i feel after it has been operated.
Avatar m tn I took a puck off of my right index finger and didn't really notice any immediate pain. Over the next couple days I noticed that I couldn't form a fist because my finger was very swollen and hurt to bend that far. Upon further observation I noticed that my first finger knuckle had become very wide, but the rest of my finger remained regular size. It is also very sensitive to touch.
Avatar f tn Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.
Avatar m tn In my other post I have given lots of details on this issue, but recently due to the pain re-arising I have researched and found the names of the areas specifically in pain. The pain is where I believe the extensor carpi radialis brevis inserts into my hand, pain is also present over the lunate bone and over the scaphoid bone. There is almost no pain with pressure applied on the hand while it's straight e.g. holding a bucket.
Avatar f tn I am 16 and for about 3 months I've had a bad pain in my right index finger. It started in the base knuckle near my palm. 2 weeks ago the pain gradually started to move up my finger. It starts to hurt during everyday activities like brushing my hair, taking off caps to bottles/jars, and mostly anything that requires force used by the fingers. The pain also occurs randomly, mostly in the evening and at night.
Avatar m tn I am having pain in my Right index finger (knuckle) for almost two months now. I don't have any swelling, warmth, or redness around the site. Could it be related to the distal radius fracture surgery which I had one year back on my Left hand. Thanking you in advance for your highly valued advise.
Avatar n tn I posted prior about pain in my knuckle starting in my left index finger knuckle. Since then, in early January of this year it transferred to the opposite knuckle. I went in to get tests done and they came back negative for RA, OA, and gout. Everything looked good on the x-rays and there was no cartilage worn down on the joints. Since I got it tested, the pain has continued to transfer to surrounding knuckles but not to the same pain level as the original left index finger knuckle.
