Avatar f tn I am a 56 years old female and in relatively good health. I take one medication for hbp. Recently the middle joints of my little fingers are very tender, red and tend to be very itchy, if that makes any sense and I've also begun noticing some tiny red nodules at the first joint of my index fingers and little fingers. Some times the nodules are a little more pronouced than other times.
Avatar f tn For a visual, imagine a small callus on the outer side of your index finger, where there should be a finger print still, now has a little swirl that doesn't follow the pattern. Can this be something else? What can I use to treat it? No health insurance so seeing a derm is out of the budget. I use my hands for delicate work quite often, please help!

Avatar f tn I woke up one day with my thumb, index finger and middle finger on my right hand numb and tingling. 2 weeks later my bottom lip and tip of my tongue went numb. 2 weeks after that my thumb, index finger and middle finger on my left hand went numb. Then 3 weeks after that both lips, my chin and area around my mouth and part of my cheeks went numb. This is all in a 3 month timeframe. 1108194 tn?1378424522 My 9 yr old son has been having brief episodes of a burning sensation on the side of thumb side index finger. Sometimes its both index fingers at the same time and sometimes its only one side. One time it was only the thumbs. The side of the finger actually turns red. It last for about 10 seconds and then its gone. So far it only has happened about 1/2 hour or so after he wakes up. He said running it under cold water helps. He is on fish oil, multi vitiamin, D3, Probiotics, and B50.

Avatar n tn My right index finger has been swollen for a month now. the knuckle is painful to the touch, but i'm able to bend it. Any ideas what it could be?? Thanks for any help!
Avatar m tn I took a puck off of my right index finger and didn't really notice any immediate pain. Over the next couple days I noticed that I couldn't form a fist because my finger was very swollen and hurt to bend that far. Upon further observation I noticed that my first finger knuckle had become very wide, but the rest of my finger remained regular size. It is also very sensitive to touch.
Avatar m tn Several years ago, I injured my right index finger at the third joint. Now, if I let my hands get cold, suddenly the fingertip becomes death white. I have to warm up by rubbing the tip and use either warm water or blow wam air over for several minutes before color returns normal. Sometimes it feels like I may lose my finger tip altogether as the blood flow does not come back for four to five minutes. It is only on the one index finger. What needs to be done. I am 70 years old.

Avatar m tn However first a nurse check on every patient that comes to take notes and use a pulse oximeter on your index finger. The thing is when she introduced the oximeter on my finger i filled like a scratch on my finger as it seems it impact the inside of the pulse oximeter and the top of my index finger was red(small spot). Avatar n tn Back in March I was holding a little girl that was standing on my lap and she lost her balance and squatted down. My hand was behind her knee and my right index finger popped and then hurt really bad for awhile. I assumed it would go away and it didn't. A few days later I went to urgent care. They took x-rays and saw nothing and told me to take ibuprofen and continue to use it like normal.
Avatar m tn Hello, Yesterday, I was moving some furniture and the gentleman helping me move accidentally scratched my index finger. This scratch caused a small cut on my finger that bled a little. Was I at risk for contracting HIV? I don't know the gentleman's health status. Please advise. I am nervous about the situation.
Avatar f tn After the voting I realized that my index finger has the lilltle thingy ( like skin peel off ur index finger and present a small cut). Because my finger already cover with the ink I cannot see clearly if the cut already formed the scab to protect the open and m not sure when did I get that.
Avatar m tn I had surgery the following day and had 2 pins inserted into my index finger. I had those pins in my index finger for 4 weeks (just had them removed on 1/10/11). I haven't been able to move that index finger for 4 weeks since the pins were still in there, as any movement in that finger caused extreme pain...but now my index finger seems to be stuck in that same position (slightly curved, as if holding a cup).
Avatar m tn My index finger has chronic pain when it is exposed to cold temps. or if my circulation is lessened in that arm. It's just that finger and only at the finger nail, cuticle area. The feeling is similar to getting it smashed into something. Also, when no pain is present, if I hit it ever so slightly on something, it might as well have been smashed in a door, the feeling would be the same!
Avatar f tn My wife has been to 3 hand specialists, 2 EMGs, x ray, MRI and nerve entrapment surgery. She has loss movement in her index finger, middle finger and the ring finger. It’s been 1yr+ and continues to get worse. The EMG says no chance of nerve recovery. But not sure why it is getting worse and no one can identify a root cause. No sudden injury or anything. Should she see a different specialists outside a hand one? Anyone have ideas?
