Avatar m tn I have just started getting this burning sensation, like I just touched something hot, in the tips of my thumb, index finger and middle finger. The worsens when I close my hand tightly but gets better if I soak it in water. What could be causing this?
Avatar f tn I woke up two days ago and noticed that my left index finger was sore. The soreness is over to the side in the soft part of the index finger between the first knuckle and the nail. It hurts if I type or if I press on it in anyway. It also throbs a little and feels hot. There is no detectable swelling or any sort of cyst of any type but the pain has become more bothersome over the last 24 hours. What could be causing this? Should I be worried?
Avatar m tn I have been getting a sudden hot feeling that starts at my knuckle and travels down my finger and lasts few seconds. It feels like something has just released some hot liquid ( like a bubble popping) in my finger and travels all the way down my finger. I happens very often throughout the day and has been happening for several months. Its a very strange feeling.
Avatar m tn The cheese was cold and my other fiingers felt the cold and my index finger felt the cheese as hot. The second time that I happened, I had nothing in my hand and I had the sensation that my finger was being burned, as if I had touched a hot pan on a stove. The third time it happened I was touching another person on the shoulder and once again the sensation that I was touching something hot. What kind of doctor should I see about this? I have not been to a doctor in more than a year.
Avatar m tn They are mostly on the pads of the fingers with a couple on the sides and one on the top of my index finger that feels and almost looks like a hangnail. These spots are limited to my right hand only. On my middle finger the red spots almost form a ring. Ideas? I also notice that they are especially sensitive to warm/hot water and if I happen to bump them, it really hurts.
Avatar m tn I am 23 year old female and have enchondroma on my left hand index finger. Should i get it operated? What diffrence will i feel after it has been operated.
Avatar f tn m a 28 year old female and I have been having swelling, stiffness and pain of my right index finger knuckle for over 2 years. It started off as a little right itchy bump on my knuckle (it kind of looked like a welt) and it felt like it was on fire. I noticed it would flare up when it would rain and there was high humidity. From there it has progressed to swelling and it is usually stiff. It has been swollen for so long now that it has started to deform my joint.
Avatar n tn not hot enough to hurt, but hot enough to make the hand very red. Hot tap water is usually hot enough, and cool it down with cold if you have to. The red means that there is a lot of increase blood flow to the hand, bringing the body's natural infection-fighting cells to the site as well as lots of antibiotics. The soaks should be about 20 minutes long, and often the hot water needs replacing. If it cools off before the 20 minutes is up, put more hot water in.
Avatar m tn Hello, hoping someone might be able to help me with this. I was playing guitar and I hit the strings with my index finger. I didn't even notice at the time and it didn't hurt or even draw blood. But the finger was sensitive for a few days and then it started to swell. A few days later the entire top half of the finger was twice the size. I went to see a doctor and she x-rayed it and said she couldn't see anything inside it although the x-ray doesn't pick up everything.
Avatar f tn So for a few days on and off my left index finger has been tingly. It's just the tip of my finger and it is on and off. I work as a server and use my hands a lot. I've been wondering if it's just a burn. It feels like there is a string around the first joint of my finger. Not to tight but just annoying. I can still move it and feel things so it's not completely numb just a little tingly.
Avatar n tn ve been having increasingly frequent sharp, stabbing pain under my fingernail on my left index finger. It makes me wince every time. I also have a strange, semi-numb feeling on the palm side of that same fingertip. The fingernail looks nice and healthy. I've had a digital mucous cyst on my right index finger (which was removed surgically but is back almost as big). Both of these fingers have large bumps or swellings on them at the joint closest to the fingernail.

Avatar f tn I had my pins taken out Monday from my right index finger this week, and today is Friday. I still have minimal movement and much stiffness. My finger is stuck in the position it was as when the pins were in, and I am still unable to make a fist. Also my top part of my finger is pointed more towards my pinky finger than sitting in the normal position. Is this how it it will stay, or will this get better when my knuckle swelling decreases?

Avatar m tn I had k-wire removed 10 days back from the index finger and middle finger of my right hand. However, both my fingers are very stiff, bent and swollen. There is hardly any movement in both of them. I have been doing physiotherapy (3-4 times a day for last 4 days). 1. Is this stiffness normal? I feel extreme pain as I try to straighten them 2. How long does it take for fingers to become normal?
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm 11 eleven years old and while I was doing my hair, I felt my left index finger shaking from left to right. It was painful, so I looked at it while it continued to happen. It then stopped, but I'm very worried. I don't know what caused it and what I should do. My mom said it may have been a muscle spasm, but she's not sure. Can anybody give me some insight into this? Thank you.
Avatar n tn Do you have numbness of the index finger along with the pain? if yes, it could be carpal tunnel syndrome as it involves index finger mainly. Another possibility is of Raynaud’s phenomenon which is constriction of the blood vessels of the fingers and toes. But it is accompanied by skin color changes. Apply ice compresses over the finger. You can also take OTC pain killers. They should help. Also get your blood sugar levels evaluated.
Avatar f tn I fell at a baseball game around 6 weeks ago, I fell on my hand and fingers were bent back under me. I had x-rays done and have 2 small fractures in Pinki finger, However, My pointer finger 2ND joint is twice the normal size, skin keeps peeling off, and I can't fully straighten it out. Also, the back of my hand and palm swell when I use them for a period of time. The pain in my hand is about a 6 on pain scale. I have been to the Dr. twice now. I ice it and massage it as best I can tolerate.
Avatar n tn specifically, the two finger joints of the pinky, the top joint of the ring finger, the central joint of the middle finger and sometimes the knuckle and central joint of the index finger. My thumb's central joint can be popped but causes no pain or tightness. Pressing my hand flat on a surface and forcing it to remain there causes tightness at the wrist and I can feel what can only be described as a 'spring effect' at the knuckles when I release.
1625195 tn?1332178662 There is little to no numbness. The ring finger is the same as well. But my middle finger, index finger and thumb are definitely numb and slightly swollen. My index finger, though, is the only finger experiencing some pain along with the numbness and swelling. Things to note: I did not bang my elbow on anything.

The same Applies to the neck but the neck does not bother as much as the ones on my hands But instead the neck looks purple ish but it looks similar to a hickey but it feel dry and is very wide ..

959691 tn?1259410214 s from playing the basss guitar because a play so hard I get blood blisters on my right index and my twicthing finger quite often. I get restless and some anxiety at night. I just realized that my middle finger twitches when I played the bass guitar intensely or after I did some tough garden work using my right hand. I don't know what's going on with the rest of my body though. Between my elbow and wrists feels like it's burning some times now.
