1108194 tn?1378424522 My 9 yr old son has been having brief episodes of a burning sensation on the side of thumb side index finger. Sometimes its both index fingers at the same time and sometimes its only one side. One time it was only the thumbs. The side of the finger actually turns red. It last for about 10 seconds and then its gone. So far it only has happened about 1/2 hour or so after he wakes up. He said running it under cold water helps. He is on fish oil, multi vitiamin, D3, Probiotics, and B50.
Avatar m tn I am having burning sensation on the side of my index finger between the middle joint and top joint. There has not been any injury, no blisters, skin breakage, tingling or discoloration. The burning seems to be closer to the middle joint and more tender if I put any pressure on the joint. I had surgery many years ago for carpal tunnel but this doesnt feel anything like that. It is in only one finger and always on the side. I have tried using an anti imflamatory cream with no relief.
Avatar m tn The cheese was cold and my other fiingers felt the cold and my index finger felt the cheese as hot. The second time that I happened, I had nothing in my hand and I had the sensation that my finger was being burned, as if I had touched a hot pan on a stove. The third time it happened I was touching another person on the shoulder and once again the sensation that I was touching something hot. What kind of doctor should I see about this? I have not been to a doctor in more than a year.

Avatar n tn My 3rd toe is numb and when I touch it I feel a burning sensation. It's been like this for weeks. Also just this morning in my right hand my index, middle, and ring fingers including my thumb are numb and tingle when I touch the tips but burn when I touch lower than the tips. My pinky is fine though oddly. Will this ever go away and what might be the cause?
Avatar m tn There is no sign ofany damage to his index finger. He cried and we put a pain killer gel on his finger and a soft glove for it to not ruboff. Does anyone know whats wrong with his finger?
Avatar m tn About a week later (and a little bit of anxiety) my index finger started to tingle. It progressively got worse and turned into more of a burning sensation and this has now been occurring for about 4 weeks now. There are not visible issues with the finger except a small blister which has been there for about 3 weeks now. I saw 3 dermatologists and none of them were concerned and they said I should just wait for it to pass or go see a neurologist if it last another few weeks.
Avatar f tn Why does my daughter get a twitching and burning sensation of the left hand.
Avatar n tn It starts in the knukle of my poniter finger and then the burning sensation starts. It does this about a few times in the day. When I go to use that finger it also starts. What could be causing this?
Avatar n tn I have a recurring blister-like rash on my index fingers and, occasionally, my thumbs. There are many tiny bumps, about a mm thick, filled with clear fluid. There is severe itching and a burning sensation, releived and aggrevated by scratching. I've been given hydrocortizone and piriton but they do little to help the problem. The itching is only briefly releived by pouring very hot water on my fingers. What can this be?
Avatar m tn I have recently been having a burning sensation in the palm of my hand. It doesn't last long and comes and goes unpredictably. It seems the pain is also moving into my index finger. Any information any of you have or experiences related to this sort of thing would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn Ever now and then, some days more than others I get a sharp burring sensation in my left pinky, or index finger that comes and goes quickly but is painful enough to make me stop what I am doing and if I am holding something I would either let go or drop it. I'm thinking arthritis but am not sure.

Avatar n tn Later that day, I still felt pain in my lower legs. For the past two days my right hand middle finger (next to my index finger) has been tight and felt numb. The right leg still has an intermittent pain. Should I be concerned? Also there is a small soft knot on my left leg but it doesn't hurt and I don't know if it was already there prior to the massage.
1744581 tn?1311302411 I cut the knuckle of my R index finger on a deli/meat slicer 2 days ago, The ER dr said I had a layer of fat over the muscle left over the bone & that was it. I got 12 stitches. The dr didn't think I cut the tendon b/c I could move my index finger although I had a lot of pain. He diagnosed it as a AVULSION INJURY.
Avatar m tn I have had a burning and tingling sensation down my arm, my index finger and thumb also have the same sensation. I have had this for 7 months now, i suspect i have pulled something, or a nerve is damaged somewhere. Its not alot of pain but it is very bothersome. I have full movement of the arm, and i know it is nerve not muscle. I went to a chiropractor several times, and a massage therapist, none have helped only a temporary relief.
Avatar f tn I continued to work with the shoulder throughout the shift and by end of shift, I had an intense burning sensation in my axilla. I went to the company clinic--X-rays were neg and I was given naproxen and and an ice pack. Went back the next day and complained of some relief, but felt tightness in my hand. I continued treatment with NSAIDs and subsequently 6 PT sessions. The intense, burning pain in axilla persisted and I was referred to ortho.

Avatar n tn When scalene muscle is the cause of pain, the pain is referred (either all or a combination of) to chest, inner lining of scapula (shoulder bone), shoulder, posterior and lateral sides of the arm right up to the thumb and index finger.
Avatar n tn I also notice the same numbness whenenever I ride my bike after 20 minutes or so. There also is a rash (?) on my index finger than resembles eczema on the backside of the finger and just dry dead skin on the side and palmside of the finger. What could be causing this? What should I do? I do not experience the same numbness with my left hand at all!!
1108194 tn?1378424522 My 10 year old son had a burning sensation in is index/thumbs for about a week. In monitoring that I notice that he keeps moving his hands and touching his fingers together. He has been twirling his hair, biting his nails for years now. This hand movement is new. I am afraid that it is like Tourettes or something. Is there something I can do? He has had some anger/stress issues in the past . I don't know if that helps.
Avatar n tn I have this problem, burning pain between index finger and 2nd finger. I cannot clench my fist unless I straighten index finger then I can make fist with the other three. I have never heard of this before, so if you have no answer I will have to goto.
Avatar f tn Once in a while the burning pain does spread further across the palm below index and middle finger but not as often compared to below little and ring finger. Gripping objects, bending my fingers or typing increases the burning sensation in the palm.. My back, neck, shoulder, upper arm is not painful, no problems in these areas. I did go back to see the surgeon for a follow up, mentioned injury. They waited it out and told me to come back in 4 weeks.
