milk

1205562 tn?1554747006 Of course there are other ways to increase milk supply such as Mothers Milk tea, napping, double pumping, making sure you're drinking plenty of water, etc. Remember this: if you do chose to drink a beer, dark beer (Guiness for example) is the kind to drink, and you don't need more than 1.
3588173 tn?1357317184 If you want to increase your milk production you can pump more frequently and/or continue pumping for a little while once you no longer have milk coming out. Both of these things will tell your body it needs to produce more.
1080032 tn?1326414386 After pumping can I leave my breast milk sitting out if my daughter will be eating 2hrs later? I don't have a bottle Warner so I would hate to put it in the fridge.
Avatar f tn I began pumping a little earlier and as more milk started to be produced I invested in breast milk freezer bags. They're good for an entire year! How awesome is that! The pressure you feel is no doubt EXTREMELY painful. Any little thing from warm showers to pumping early helps.
4437866 tn?1388119624 Breast massage and/or breast compressions before and during pumping can be very helpful in increasing milk output during a pumping session. Try different sized flanges or inserts (such as the Medela Soft-Fit®, Ameda Flexishield Areola Stimulator®, or Avent® petal massager insert) or rearrange the flanges after five to six minutes to help stimulate different parts of the breast and areola, which may result in more let-down reflexes, thereby increasing milk output.
Avatar f tn m 29 wks and already producing milk I looked up online to see how long breastmilk stays fresh while frozen and it says three to six months.
Avatar f tn Nothing wrong with pumping and bottle feeding. The important thing is getting them the breast milk.
1209036 tn?1299178657 Brittny and Clysta have given you some good advice. I also recommend checking out the Breastfeeding forum - I have learned a lot there. I would definitely invest in a good double pump if you will pumping a lot. The medela pump in style is one of the best. The general advice is to pump 15-20 minutes or 2-3 minutes after the milk stops flowing, which ever comes first. A double pump will stimulate more milk and cut your pumping time in half. How often are you pumping?
Avatar f tn I read online pumping in the morning is best because thats when you produce the most milk. I want to have breast milk ready so I can have help with feeding when she is home since im planning to start work and school almost right after birth.
Avatar f tn Put her to the breast more often. What makes you think you aren't making enough?
Avatar f tn t the right forum but I feel more comfortable asking questions here...I had my daughter on the 9th and at first I had a really good milk supply where my breast would become engorged every two hours if I didn't pump or feed regularly....and I was pumping 2/3 ounces from each breast every time.....now I can hardly get an half an ounce :(....I try to have my daughter on my breast every two hours but it seems like she gets so irritated because nothing is coming out....
7385294 tn?1412105739 Well what you might be pumping is the "pre-milk" which I can't think of the name for it right now. And the baby really only drinks that until your milk supply comes in, hours/days after birth. I don't think your actual breast milk will come from pumping? So I don't know if there's an actual point to it (you might have to Google that) Nipple stimulation has been known to bring in contractions, and causing labor in the long run. Just do whatever you want to do.
Avatar f tn It's not recommended that you express breast milk regularly before delivering baby. If I were you I'd be questioning my midwife. Expressing breast milk can put you into preterm labor as it releases oxytocin which causes uterine contractions. Also it can make it so you don't develop a good supply after baby is born.
373683 tn?1218997212 I am by no means an expert on breastfeeding, but how old is your nephew now? I hear that you should wait a little while before pumping so your milk gets established. I think maybe like 6-8 weeks. Has she called the doctor about it?
1149221 tn?1304827966 Is anyone else pumping and really getting tired of it? After the hospital made him have a bottle he would never take the breast so I have to pump. I am really getting tired of it. I just feel guilty if he has to have formula all the time (he gets it 2-3 times a day) plus pumping is free. I just find it so hard to take 30 minutes every 3 hours to pump. By the time I'm done both my boys are upset and I have to calm them both down. I just don't know what to do.
362119 tn?1223137936 I had my son on august 15th, my milk came in 3 days later... I have tryed pumping and i only get about 2-3 ounces a day.. why is that? When he feeds a have a lot of milk, and then it seems that whenever i want to pump it takes FOREVER to come out. will this get easier?
4545793 tn?1394592544 / I want to be able to store breast milk for just incase stuff and to be able to breast feed until he is at least teething idk if I could breast feed when he has teeth bc right now he is randomly pulling away on my nipple and when he does that he pulls ny nipple also lol
Avatar m tn Hi ladies, my milk came in yesterday, quite a lot I made add and I have been pumping ever since. Brandon is being lazy again and not latching on as much as I'd like to. Do you all think I will eventually dry up if I dont continue to latch him on? I have never breastfeed so I am not to experience on this. My mom keeps telling me I wont I as long as I continue to pump regularly. Everytime I pump I get like 2-3 onces per breast. Is that good enough?
Avatar f tn You can give formula while pumping to breast feed but like others said it will be hard to keep up milk supply. Make sure to get the right pump, my first wouldnt latch so I had to pump but I lost my milk by 8 weeks and had to supplement with formula the whole time. Turns out I didnt have the right type of pump and didnt do it enough. I thought I would have problems having a baby breastfeed but my son did and I actually found pumping more awkward.
7913021 tn?1418048620 Anyone ever take it or do you suggest another breast milk/pumping supplement that will help your milk come in?
Avatar n tn m wondering if I should do expression of colostrum which is the practice of expressing your breast milk while pregnant. As if my boobs won’t get enough of that over the next year or two. Since I didn't breastfeed with my 1st I'm scared I won't get enough milk which I know expressing won't help with that but since I do not want to actually feed from my breast at the hospital I'd rather her have the colostrum from breast milk rather than them give her formula.
Avatar f tn ) Have you tried pumping? If your already breastfeeding it would be much cheep er a deep your supply up..
Avatar f tn What would u all suggest breast or bottle feeding because this is my 3rd baby and I wanna try pumping to lose weight and keep the baby healthy?
Avatar f tn They let me put him to Breast a couple times but that was until he was a couple weeks old so I had been pumping my milk for him til then. He never latched after the one time so I exclusively pumped for a year.
Avatar f tn Are you suppose to be pumping while pregnant?
4437866 tn?1388119624 Pumping is a poor indication of how much milk you are producing so don't let that freak you out. There is a good chance they are just going through a growth spurt. Things that help boost milk production are staying well hydrated, nursing frequently, eating oatmeal and garlic. Taking the herbal supplement fenugreek did wonders for me with my second son but shouldn't be taken if you have nut allergies because its related to nuts.
Avatar f tn how many times do you think i will need to pump though out an 8 hr work day? and about how long each time? also have any moms pumped so they can have breast milk while their gone but still put baby on the boob when your home? is it easy for baby to go back nd forth??
