memory

Avatar f tn It is basically a softening of the brain matter as a result of an ischemia or infarction, degenerative changes, infection, craniocerebral trauma, or other injury. Thus any damage to this lobe can lead to long term memory loss. Certain types of epilepsies and seizures and sleep disturbances too cause short term memory loss along with tiredness or fatigue. Chronic infections too are known to precipitate memory loss. For this you can try yoga and meditation.

Avatar f tn My husband had a very large Pineal Meningioma Tumor removed 1-7-11. He has no short term memory. I believe in miracles but medically I feel/know his memory won't every come back. This is a rare situation as Pineal Meningioma Tumors are rare. The tumor was right in the middle of his head above the brain stem. He also had to have a VP shunt. His quality of life is so sad because he doesn't make new memories and has lost so much memory that he once had.
Avatar m tn hey guys, I was diagnosed with short term memory back in high school...teachers were made aware of this issue & I was given extra time to take tests/study. Avatar m tn in comparisson to short termmemory loss and how to overcome short term memory loss without using a pill but with FAITH IN INDEPENDANCE and organizing the electrical synapses that our brains use most frequently/ rely on the most frequently.... you might need to forget some of your most valuable memories to be able to regain your short term memory... Avatar n tn Within the last 4 weeks she has lost most of her short term memory and some of her long term memory. The other day my wife phoned to say hello and was not reconized, (this seems really odd to me as my wife and my sister-in-law are twins and no one can tell them apart when they are on the phone). My sister-in-law has taken her to a psychiatrist, a doctor, and had a CAT scan done. The diagnosis is that it is the onset of a form of dementia and unlikely to improve.

Avatar m tn I have memory issues big time. My long term recall is horrible, and I am finding new learning tough. There is a site called Lumosity that has brain games that are supposed to help with memory and recall. I am going to join in the new year (once the Christmas bills are out of the way.
