This will sound extremely bizarre, but I would be grateful if anyone is able to shed some light on this very annoying thing that I am experiencing. It all started when I rubbed my eyes in my mirror 2 years ago, and then my eyes started stinging really badly, and I found I couldn't sneeze for about 2 weeks.
For about 2 years now, I have been experiencing an inability to sneeze naturally. The sneeze builds up, but it never completes.
I have tried snorting pepper, snuff etc and looking at bright light - no Sneeze, not even a desire to sneeze. I have a number of neuro symptoms, no gag reflex, partial paralysis of throat, difficulty swallowing, Exotropia (eyes constantly tend to cross) along with muscle cramps, pain, weakness and fatigue - all progressive. Neuro says MS but never had a positive MRI.
My question: Is anyone aware of a neuro/muscular disease with one of the signs being the loss/lack of the sneeze reflex?
I hate the sneezing sooo much I been clean now 6 days and it has been a sneezing none stop time. Today I went out with a friend he drove. My eyes hurt sooo bad from the sun light I could barley open them I did not have my glasses with me. I have got the sneezing, watery eyes and the yawning none stop also.
I am a doctor caring for a patient that was in a car accident and is hospitalized. Yesterday i cut myself shaving under my chin and the patient sneezed right in my mouth, eyes, and (especially my cut). Its was a thick sneeze. Do i go for pyp or test ?
A while ago, I was looking through albums, and I happened to find a picture of me sleeping with my eyes half open as a toddler. I thought this was a funny, but then I began to find many pictures of me sleeping with my eyes open when I was much much older, and it wasn't funny anymore. As shown in the picture below, only a small sliver of the white of my eye is exposed. This only appears to be on one eye and the other eye is closed.
It's 2012. Time to see if there are more informative sources regarding this condition. My eyes squirt fluid whenever I sneeze or blow my nose. The fluid sprays across my reading glasses (if I'm wearing them). Now, in stark contrast to this excessive fluid situation, both eyes seem to be experiencing "dessicated tears" (according to tests by my optometrist).

Also, I read that it could be related to allergies, but I rarely sneeze, cough or have any symptoms related to allergies. I know I have seasonal allergies but I've only seen it bother me in the spring when the mold count gets really high.
So I am wondering for the most part if there is something I am missing, or if my under eye circles are just heredity and what I can really do to improve my appearance, if I haven't already googled all my options.
Whenever I try to look at distant objects my eyes go cross eyed and I cant see very well. This makes driving impossible with both eyes open so I have to close one. This has slowly gotten worse over the past 2 years and is starting to become troublesome.
I am not a doctor ,but have you ever been to see a neurologist.if you have not you should go see one ,they should do a sleep study on you and and EEG witch might help find out if they see anything going on with you.also they should do some blood test to see if your blood levls are where they should be.

When I wake up in the middle of nite to visit the restroom, I can not open my eyes. And when they finally open they burn. The following day at times,they burn all day. The longest that I have not been able to open my eyes was approx. 30 sec. and at times, I get tired of waiting that I just go back to sleep.
I have used tear drop drops, lubercating gel and it aliviates it a little, but continues to burn.
I also didnt know that there were going to be lingering effects of the drugs so far as long as 2 weeks of being clean that only make it that much harder to stay clean...Just posting to prove no matter how bad it gets you can always turn it around with enough will power and desire to live a positive CLEAN life....Anyone out there battling addiction keep fighting the good fight and take it day by day and just know that you BETTERING you life with everyday clean!!!!!!!!!
What else is going on in your life? Are you consuming any thing that can damage your body or mind? Live a healthy life style.
As to are you awake? Since you remember the eye open problem, if not awake you are having a vivid dream. Do you think you can remember to try something next time that happens? I mean remember when you are in the can't open eye state. Can you see anything, i.e.
THE PERSON CAN OPEN AND CLOSE HIS EYES, HOWEVER, IT SEEMS DIFFICULT TO DO SO.. HE USES HIS FINGERS AND TALKS TO HIMSELF IN ORDER TO OPEN HIS EYES. SOME TIMES HE CAN KEEP HIS EYES OPEN FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, BUT HIS EYES WATER HEAVILY THERE IS SOME JUSTICATION THAT THE INDIVIDUAL HAS BEEN HYPNOTIZED, AND COMMANDED TO KEEP HIS EYES CLOSED AND HAS GOTTEN PROGRGRESSIVELY WORSE IN THE LAST 7-9 MOS. HE HAS TAKEN AMLODIPINE 10 MG FOR OVER 10YEARS. IS IT POSIBLE THIS HAS HAD

This problem is really confusing, isn't it? When I first started connecting the dots and deciding that it was something about me that was making people cough, I hoped it was just some kind of temporary food poisoning, bacterial infection, or something like that, and I hoped it would subside within, say, 3 months at most. Over the next year, however, the problems did not subside but rather got worse.
One simple thing that can help is to get a back massager and run it across your browline, under your eyes, near your ears, and then on your nose to make you sneeze. This helps break up my sinus pressure. You can also do the top of your head, your neck, and anywhere on your face that seems to have built up pressure. Good luck.
I posted on May 27, but did not receive a response, probably because it seems that I don't really have a problem. I did not acknowledge it in the previous post, but I overeat out of fear. I signed up for the 4 articles on your website. The 12 reasons for overeating looked familiar. I have struggled with and conquered a couple of those in my lifetime, but the problem I have now, is not mentioned and I cannot talk about it. My solution is to only overeat with "healthy" food.
