It would help knowing exactly what you have tried so that I could suggest medications that you have not tried. Also, how many migraines do you get per month? Yes, most migraine medications do work well for most people. But, not everyone has the same success with all medications. For acute treatment of migraine headaches, first line treatment is triptans.

I'm back with another question :-). DS is 11.5 yo, recently diagnosed. He was put on topamax and imitrex for migraines which are supposedly unrelated and are what sent us to the neurologist in the first place. Migraines continue, some tingling in hands and feet, which is likely the topamax. However, today he had a migraine (been on topamax just over three weeks). Once it wore off I took him to school.

His Doctor told him to go to our GP for pills to treat his side effects. We finally went to see a liver specialist and found out he was allergic to the meds and should abort them immediately. There was a supposed 98% cure rate for this type of Hep C but it did nothing but tear down his body. On major side effect is Cluster Headaches. They are migraines that last for days and weeks and are very frequent. The only small relief is acupuncture. Has anyone else experienced this?

that dissipated and headache nausea began. as hgl went down fatigue and weakness/breathlessness began. when nausea ended just a loss of appetite and lost taste buds appeared. skin issues did not show til well into treatment and have remained. arthritis pain showed up about week 15. my journal tracks most of this should u care to look. just remember everyone is different. i have had alot of the sx but none debilitating as i asked the folks here what to do and i followed their advice.

the LAST thing you want is morphine side-effects, which are extreme nausea and stomach upset and vomiting... hydromorphone has NONE of these side-effects, so it is much better for migraine treatment. it is also a billion times stronger so make sure they do NOT give you any more than 2mg as a starting dose... otherwise you might end up feeling worse than when you first went into the hospital... trust me, being high is NOT fun. all you want is relief from your symptoms...

I posted a question asking if zomig knocked other people out.... or if anyone found any sort of knock-out side-effects with triptans... I totally feel out of it after I take my triptans... it takes the pain away... but I am out of it... tired... fatigued... and even confused sometimes for hours after the migraine... sometimes for the rest of the day!!!

I have been on Sovaldi, Olysio and Riboviron for 4 weeks. I am finding that I feel very poorly with a laundry list of noxious symptoms. I feel very alone since my docs said that the side effect profile would be very tolerable. Many years ago I was on interferon and riboviron but could not tolerate the tx. I don't know if it is the roboviron that is causing the side effects. At this point I am pretty much bed-ridden. Is there anyone out there with a similar experience?

I'm not a doctor, but every time I get a migraine, which I've been getting for 16 years, I've noticed that during the most severe migraines, I'm very nauseous and even thrown up...which made my migraine so bad, that I had to got o the hospital for pain meds. I started getting headaches on the right/back side of my head about 2 1/2 weeks ago. They started out slight but after drinking alcohol heavily one weekend they got pretty intense for a few nights. Hello, I was seen in the ER today for a migraine and they gave me a mixture of compazine, benadryl, toradol and a steroid through an IV. I was wondering what possible side effects I may encounter.

I called my old primary and they told me to wait off the side effects of the imitrex instead of going to the ER. My head continued to burn for two months when another doctor finally pulled me off of the serotonin medication. The burning is gone for the most part but I am left with what they are now calling generalized dystonia. I also have a chiari malformation and a cousin who also has both disorders. I'm currently on valium and artane for the muscles spasms.

s office and asked about these symptoms, the nurse stated the doctor said these were not normal side effects. How do I get my Oncologist to see that I am having these problems and to treat them?

The doctor suggested Lyrica as a possiblity. I am worried about the side effects and how hard it is to get off of it as I read that it is habit forming. I take Klonopin and Imitrex for migraine problems so I am limitied and have palpitations due to a PAC (pre atrial contractions). So, I can't take prestiq or Cymbalta. I can't take Valium or a benzodiazepine because of the Klonpin.
