I have been eating advil and excedrin tension headache. I have been digging looking to see if I can find some imitrex here. I had a prescription years ago and I don't think I used them all, but that was "back in the day" and I don't really know what I have/had. With all the excitement of the weather here and my kids and husband all being shut up in this house for 2 days already, the noise and craziness has gotten to me.

I don't have much of a question, but wanted to introduce myself. I've periodically had migraines throughout my life, but they were never very often. I called my GP back and they say well that is why I said to take half a pill, plus the pills were expired for two months (he had given me a sample).

what is the difference between the imitrex injections and pills? Which is more effective and prescribed more?

Is it safe to take Lexapro and Imitrex? There is a warning on the package against this but I thought I would ask the professionals first.

does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. so there is no reason to become an addict or to crave the medication, but ones body will still become highly dependent on the medication to a point that if you take the body off the medication abruptly you can cause seizures and even death... Imitrex is NOT like that!! Imitrex does not cause any sort of high or euphoria so you cannot become addicted to it, you will not "crave" it when you are not in pain...

If the test strips were kept sealed they "probably" are good. The sure way to test this is to take a blood sample with a strip that has not expired, and then shortly afterwards, use a strip from the "expired" container. If readings are comparable, it suggests the "expired" strips are good to use.

I am pretty loyal to Imitrex. But always at max dose of 200mg. There is a new drug from makers of Imitrex called Trixamet. It is Imitrex plus an NSAID. I got a sample from my doc. I loved it. Trixamet is supposed to be covered by any insurance that takes Imitrex, but mine doesn't cover it. Maybe yours will. Hope I helped.

I have been taking 1 imitrex when I have a headache. My question is, "Is Imitrex habit-forming?" I have researched all the websites, but they also say that ultram isn't habit forming. Hello. I've been suffering from sever migraines for years but recently they have gotten worse.. For a week now I've had a constant pain. Ive tried imitrex and that hadn't help. I took a pain med n it help for a little while. But the pain is back ten fold. Is that because of the pain med.? Any suggestions on migraine medications?

I used to get so many migraines and I was taking imitrex injections. When I moved the migraines got worse from stress and I started taking the imitrex daily, sometimes even multiple times a day. After about 3 months of this I started getting heart palpitations. They got so bad that I stopped taking my imitrex (cold turkey) on the whim that it was causing them. Like Imitrex, it is made to be taken at the onset of a migraine, but is supposed to work faster and better to reduce migraine pain. I have been put on everything from narcotics (which I refuse and hate) to Beta Blockers. (Which Do help) Currently on Propanol. But my very FIRST and ONLY time using Imitrex Oral Capsule. I get my drugs from my home country because it is cheaper. Why problem is that I have a box of tenofovir that expired in april 2012. am afraid my next supply will reach me after two months. t know that it was expired. it was expired on november 16th itself.i bought it on october and came to know only now that it has got only 1 month shelf life. when i washed my face that sunday when i used it(some particles fell on my eye), my left eye (it was usuallly dry)got redenned and it has got few nerves clearly appearing on it.i never expected this to happen because of usage of expired gram flour.
