aldara

Avatar m tn Can anyone describe their experiences with Imiquimod? I am on the 3.75% cream which my doctor has told me to use every other day for a month. In the first 2 weeks, nothing happened, only just a couple days ago I noticed a very slight indication that the medication might be working, but I'm still not sure. I have about 20-30 very small warts, and notice 2 or 3 of them showing a bit of redness and drying up a bit. Still not sure if this is due to the medication.
Avatar m tn t worry, I used to have warts on my butts, and my doctor gave me Aldara cream 5% (imiquimod) and it went away within two weeks. Please ask you doctor for a prescription.
1094370 tn?1317134825 Hi! Sorry to hear about this. I'm 32 and have had my fair share of basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma. I think the cream you are referring to is Imiquimod/Aldara? It is essentially a topical chemo. Generally if it scabs it means it's working. Unfortunately I haven't had great success with it and have had to have the cancer surgically removed. Not sure where you live, but I have fantastic Doctor recommendations in NYC. Let me know if you want more info.
Avatar m tn Dear doctors , I have a small genital wart on my foreskin and I started to use imiquimod cream recently . The instruction says that I should use the imiquimod cream during bedtime . However , I have more erections during sleep (than day time ), the imiquimod cream might be wiped off by the underwear when I have an erection. In this case , Can I use imiquimod during the day instead of bedtime ?
Avatar f tn they told me they could freeze them off or use a topical cream that is commonly used in chemo therapeutic procedures. Her dr said with her being so young that it is up to me if i want to use the cream and I dont. I also dont want to freeze them off either cause it would hurt her and there are so many. I have looked up home remedies that i plan on trying soon. One being apple cidar vinegar and the other tea tree oil. Hopefully one will work.

Avatar n tn Hello, For small warts , several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts. Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation. These methods are more long lasting and permanent than application of topical agents which provides only temporary relief.
Avatar n tn Other therapy with topical calcipotriene, tacrolimus 0.1% ointment (under occlusion) and imiquimod 5% cream may also be useful. PUVA and photodynamic therapy is also found to be useful. You can consult any good dermatologist in your area or in the metro cities and discuss these treatment options with him. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Avatar n tn (I already have oral HSV1) 2) I have HPV with a small genital wart that I am treating with Imiquimod cream but has not yet gone away (the wart is on the other side of my penis, not the part of the penis that rubbed against her as I laid on my back, so I am sure the wart did not touch her) What is her risk of contracting genital warts from me??? 3) I would like to continue applying the Imiquimod cream, but I also want to monitor my penis over the next 14 days for any signs of herpes.
Avatar m tn If you are using imiquimod cream to treat genital and anal warts, you will probably apply it once a day for 3 days a week (e.g., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). Imiquimod cream should be left on the skin for 6 to 10 hours. Continue using imiquimod until all of the warts are healed, i found this on a website. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar m tn In vivo studies of humans and animals treated with topical 5% imiquimod cream or topical 0.1–1.0% resiquimod gel have, however, confirmed the induction of mRNA for IFN-α and TNF-α in treated but not untreated skin.8,,9 In addition to monocytes, keratinocytes in skin were stimulated to produce cytokines. Imiquimod upregulated IL-6 and IL-8 in vitro,3 while resiquimod induced mRNA for IL-1α, IL-8, TNF-α and transiently IFN-α.
Avatar f tn t shown any signs of any type of growth near or on her genitals. The Dr. prescribed me imiquimod cream which I have used as directed for the past two weeks and I have not seen any change whatsoever. Are skin tags resistant to imiquimod cream? Is it possible it is not HPV but in fact just a skin tag and the dermatologist was too quick to diagnose? Please help. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Ive been on aldara (imiquimod) 5% for approximately 2 months now. I cant notice if im seeing any improvement with my genital warts. However, ive developed a ridiculous rash around the application site. which is extremely red and irritated. The rash looks almost like if i ran really fast and slid my knee on a rug, except its around the base of my penis. Its sometimes itchy and i feel as if at sometimes its developing a particular scab. will this redness ever go away?
Avatar n tn Hi, Warts often regrows after the skin has healed.Treatments that may be prescribed by a medical professional include Keratolysis, removal of dead surface skin cells usually using salicylic acid. -Cryosurgery, which involves freezing the wart (generally with liquid nitrogen), creating a blister between the wart and epidermal layer, after which the wart and surrounding dead skin falls off by itself. -Surgical curettage of the wart. -Laser treatment.
