Avatar m tn Can anyone describe their experiences with Imiquimod? I am on the 3.75% cream which my doctor has told me to use every other day for a month. In the first 2 weeks, nothing happened, only just a couple days ago I noticed a very slight indication that the medication might be working, but I'm still not sure. I have about 20-30 very small warts, and notice 2 or 3 of them showing a bit of redness and drying up a bit. Still not sure if this is due to the medication.
Avatar m tn Hello, Although many topical preparations have been tried like betadine, Australian lemon myrtle, tea tree oil , tretinoin and Methisazone but their use is limited and without full proof results. The best method of treatment of molluscum is excision, cautery, cryosurgery by liquid nitrogen and laser removal.cryosurgery and laser are painless and the lesions heal well in 2-3 weeks. I sincerely advise you consult a dermatologist and get it excised. Hope it helps.

Avatar f tn Hello, Stucco keratosis is characterized by benign growths on the skin especially the extremities. The modes of treatment are topical 5% Imiquimod, scraping the lesion, cryotherapy and electrodessication. Red light collagen therapy is used for healing of wounds like diabetic skin ulcers, serious burns, and severe oral sores and proposed to be helpful in erasing wrinkles but I am unaware of its use in stucco keratosis.

556286 tn?1215553880 This is a rash my love is suffering with, which started out on the backs of both thighs and was diagnosed as psoriasis about two years ago. With topical steriodal creams the rashes went away, but came back with a vengance. Now the rash is all over. It itches so badly that scratching for relief causes bleeding and deep gouges in the skin. Our bed sheets are covered in spots of his blood from this rash. It is now affecting his testicles with redness and itching.
Avatar n tn Other therapy with topical calcipotriene, tacrolimus 0.1% ointment (under occlusion) and imiquimod 5% cream may also be useful. PUVA and photodynamic therapy is also found to be useful. You can consult any good dermatologist in your area or in the metro cities and discuss these treatment options with him. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn they told me they could freeze them off or use a topical cream that is commonly used in chemo therapeutic procedures. Her dr said with her being so young that it is up to me if i want to use the cream and I dont. I also dont want to freeze them off either cause it would hurt her and there are so many. I have looked up home remedies that i plan on trying soon. One being apple cidar vinegar and the other tea tree oil. Hopefully one will work.
Avatar n tn Sir, I had protected sex with a women / sex worker around 37 days back. She was having periods at that time, which I was not aware about. While removing the condom, a drop of blood came on my finger (My condom was not torn or damaged). After around 20 days, I developed a small genital wart on my pence. I immediately went to a dermatologist / STD specialist and told him the entire episode correctly.
Avatar m tn Laser therapy, curettage and cryotherapy are the available treatment options. Topical medications like imiquimod, salicylic acid may be used to remove the bumps but they may not be very effective. Continue the treatment as advised by your dermatologist. Do keep me updated. Best of luck and regards!
Avatar m tn In vivo studies of humans and animals treated with topical 5% imiquimod cream or topical 0.1–1.0% resiquimod gel have, however, confirmed the induction of mRNA for IFN-α and TNF-α in treated but not untreated skin.8,,9 In addition to monocytes, keratinocytes in skin were stimulated to produce cytokines. Imiquimod upregulated IL-6 and IL-8 in vitro,3 while resiquimod induced mRNA for IL-1α, IL-8, TNF-α and transiently IFN-α.
Avatar n tn Hello, For small warts , several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts. Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation. These methods are more long lasting and permanent than application of topical agents which provides only temporary relief.
Avatar f tn In some specific cases where treatment is require, the mode of treatment includes external compression therapy, topical steroids , topical antiseptics like Eosin, which also has antiangiogenic properties, high dose oral corticosteroids , propranolol, vascular laser therapy and medicines like vincristine and imiquimod . I would suggest an examination by a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.
1094370 tn?1317134825 Hi! Sorry to hear about this. I'm 32 and have had my fair share of basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma. I think the cream you are referring to is Imiquimod/Aldara? It is essentially a topical chemo. Generally if it scabs it means it's working. Unfortunately I haven't had great success with it and have had to have the cancer surgically removed. Not sure where you live, but I have fantastic Doctor recommendations in NYC. Let me know if you want more info.

However , I have more erections during sleep (than day time ), the imiquimod cream might be wiped off by the underwear when I have an erection. In this case , Can I use imiquimod during the day instead of bedtime ?
Avatar n tn (I already have oral HSV1) 2) I have HPV with a small genital wart that I am treating with Imiquimod cream but has not yet gone away (the wart is on the other side of my penis, not the part of the penis that rubbed against her as I laid on my back, so I am sure the wart did not touch her) What is her risk of contracting genital warts from me??? 3) I would like to continue applying the Imiquimod cream, but I also want to monitor my penis over the next 14 days for any signs of herpes.
