aldara

Avatar m tn If you are using imiquimod cream to treat genital and anal warts, you will probably apply it once a day for 3 days a week (e.g., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). Imiquimod cream should be left on the skin for 6 to 10 hours. Continue using imiquimod until all of the warts are healed, i found this on a website. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar m tn I had a small group of warts on my genital area for years. I applied this cream for 3 times a day, and after 6 days the warts fell off naturally. I had tried Imiquimod, Aldara and some other creams for a while without seeing improvements. My girlfriend used Imiquimod and got positive results. Maybe, I was not so lucky.
Avatar n tn Ive been on aldara (imiquimod) 5% for approximately 2 months now. I cant notice if im seeing any improvement with my genital warts. However, ive developed a ridiculous rash around the application site. which is extremely red and irritated. The rash looks almost like if i ran really fast and slid my knee on a rug, except its around the base of my penis. Its sometimes itchy and i feel as if at sometimes its developing a particular scab. will this redness ever go away?
Avatar m tn 75% cream which my doctor has told me to use every other day for a month. In the first 2 weeks, nothing happened, only just a couple days ago I noticed a very slight indication that the medication might be working, but I'm still not sure. I have about 20-30 very small warts, and notice 2 or 3 of them showing a bit of redness and drying up a bit. Still not sure if this is due to the medication. Other than that I haven't noticed any effects or any type of side effects.
Avatar m tn I recently found two small condylomas around my anus and was referred to a proctologist for treatment. I paid him a visit this past Thursday and he froze the warts and applied something for the pain then prescribed an ointment to be applied locally by myself during the next couple of days. I have a standing appointment now for this Monday However, besides treating the symptoms is there something I should additionally be prescribed by him?
Avatar f tn warts are due to HPV virus, they develop and dont clear or reappear from time to time in people with damaged immune system due to unhealthy diet and life styles it is treated by imiquimod an interferon inducer cream, while doing imiquimod vitamin c by liposoms or injection (not normal vit c which is not absorbed by the stomach, only 10-16% gets absorbed by stomach), vitamin d3, good diet of fresh vegetables only, very little meat, sugars, fats, good sleep 8hrs minimum
Avatar m tn I would think it reasonable to apply the medication to the areas that had visible warts for 2-3 treatments after the warts seem to be gone, but probably it isn't necessary to go beyond that. 5) Missing. 6) Because of imiquimod's immunologic mechanism, it is often assumed (hoped might be a better word) that it might be associated with fewer recurrences than other wart treatments, and in its marketing efforts the manufacturer is happy to let people think so.
Avatar f tn Last January however I noticed more appearing. I never for a moment even thought they were warts until I saw an episode of Girls and the subject was genital warts..I began to panic and scheduled an appt with my nurse practitioner. Upon examination she thought they were skin tags and gave me a test to rule out warts. Little did I know then there was no such test. A few days later I received a call from my Dr's office saying the test came back negative.
Avatar n tn 3) I would like to continue applying the Imiquimod cream, but I also want to monitor my penis over the next 14 days for any signs of herpes. Is it possible that application of Imiquimod cream could delay/alter the appearance of HSV2 lesions, so that I would not know if I have acquired HSV2??? I know the blood test for herpes would not be affected by Imiquimod, but I'm wondering about the appearance of herpes lesions. Can I continue applying the Imiquimod??
Avatar f tn HI I AM USING IMIQUIMOD ON MY GENITAL WARTS WHICH ARE AROUND 50 IN NUMBER VERY SMALL BUMPS. WILL I WILL GET RID OF WARTS SOON.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Aldara (imiquimod) to get rid of a few perianal HPV warts since cryotherapy was only making it worse. After only about 2 weeks of usage almost all symptoms of the warts were gone however I now have perianal psoriasis in its place. That is one of the side-effects of imiquimod and it mainly strikes people whom are genetically prone to having psoriasis.
Avatar n tn Ive been using imiquimod for almost the full term. The area affected is between my scrotum and inner thigh crease. In the matter of a night i got redness and sores. Ive stopped using it and wash daily. It doesnt help that its right where my jeans and underwear ride. Any help in relief?

Avatar n tn So I have genital warts obviously caused by HPV. I got the TARO brand Imiquimod cream to remove them. It seems to be working, but now where that portion of the shaft that is being treated makes contact with the scrotum, it's causing what seems to be jock Itch. Is this possible or just an unlucky coincidence?
Avatar f tn t shown any signs of any type of growth near or on her genitals. The Dr. prescribed me imiquimod cream which I have used as directed for the past two weeks and I have not seen any change whatsoever. Are skin tags resistant to imiquimod cream? Is it possible it is not HPV but in fact just a skin tag and the dermatologist was too quick to diagnose? Please help. Thank you.

Avatar m tn Three months ago, a doctor gave me the cream Vyloma. For the first time, I saw encouraging results. I used the for 8 weeks, as prescribed. The warts were gone but now (3 weeks later), I see that a small one seems to be coming out again. It says everywhere that I should not use the cream for more than 8 weeks. I've waited 3 weeks, does it mean I can use it again or should I wait some more?
Avatar n tn You should consult a skin specialist for the symptoms. If these are plane warts - she would benefit by using salicylic acid cream, cryotherapy, curettage and light cautery. If these are filiform warts - cryotherapy or curettage and light cautery would help.
Avatar m tn I have had genital warts for over a year. I can trace my aquisition of HPV to an encounter 2 months before my first outbreak. I have had all visible warts frozen off 8-9 times this past year and they keep coming back. I have completed 2 courses of therapy on Aldara and that just seemed to make the warts grow faster. I have used salicylic acid, 4 weeks of duct tape occulsion therapy and have started regularly taking echinacea to boost my immune system.
Avatar m tn I have had flat warts on my arms for at least 14 years. I also have them on my face, mostly my forehead. Recently we noticed that my wife has them on her legs. I have read they are extremely contagious, but on this post site, it says they are not. I have read, all forms of HPV are spreadable, through contact, if there are abrasions to the skin, etc. Is there anything I can do to speed up the disappearance of the flat warts?
Avatar m tn Hi guys, of all things that could happen to my body, this is one of the ones that freaks me out the most (and makes me a little queasy too). Here's the story: After doing a little dry humping with my girlfriend, I went to the bathroom and noticed some blood spots in my boxers. I thought "wtf?!
