Avatar n tn About 2.5 years ago, I had an encounter with a female masseuse in Pittsburgh. During a moment of incredible stupidity and irresponsibility I slowly and briefly entered her anus about 1-2 inches or so. It was a very slow unforced entry, minimal lubrication other than baby oil she had been using on me a few minutes earlier, and I was in her about 1 minute with almost no back and forth, just slowly entering.
Avatar n tn Surely you researched all possible side effects before you used a drug for fun? Everybody just hears heart attack and death and they figure if they live through it, there are no other permanent issues. Sorry, but I have no patience for self-inflicted injuries from illegal drugs.
168348 tn?1379357075 The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced today a ban on cigarettes with flavors characterizing fruit, candy, or clove. The ban, authorized by the new Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, is part of a national effort by the FDA to reduce smoking in America. Smoking is the leading preventable cause of death in America.
572651 tn?1530999357 In Canada, the panels are the same for all grounds for drug testing 1) because the sole objective is to mitigate risk for injury/death due to drug use by those in safety sensitive roles, & 2) to underhandedly screen out candidates who may have an underlying medical condition is illegal in this country.
Avatar n tn I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but considering I think you're being a bit judgemental... you have no proof that her addiction had anything to do with the baby's death... if you do have suspicions you could always request a death certificate and clearly see the baby's cause of death.. methadone addiction for infants is a treatable thing and as long as the hospital knew the mother was taking it during pregnancy the baby should have survived..
547368 tn?1440541785 Hello Members. I'm sure you are all aware of the opiate phobic climate that exists in America. Different states vary a bit as do different PMPs. However it's clear that the government and it's agencies have waged war against Practitioners prescribing opiates for Chronic or Acute pain. That certainly feels like war against Chronic Pain Patients also. More and more Chronic Pain Patients are being prescribed less and less opiates.
547368 tn?1440541785 Most of us - including some well known physicians and pharmacists believe that these statistics today are not true ones. Included in these numbers are suicides and drug addicts. It's also noteworthy - again according to what I have read - that when a death occurs and the deceased has an opiate in their system (even when not lethal) their death is often reported as opiate related. You'd be surprised at way these deaths are recorded/reported.
Avatar m tn Could be Kratom. It is bought online, and they put "not for human consumption" on it to please the FDA and DEA. Otherwise, it would be illegal. On the sites, it sells itself by saying, "it's incense for burning" or some crap. The thing is that he's YOUR child, underage, living in your home??? I'd toss it and send him to rehab before it's too late. That may sound harsh, but you may be saving his life. This is what you actually found.
Avatar n tn No- it is illegal. Doctors in most states are required by law to check the drug database to ensure a patient is not obtaining prescriptions for controlled substances from multiple providers. Pharmacists must also check the database for last fill date, quantity, dosing instructions, and notify any prescribers that you attempted to fill another prescription from another physician. They may also be required to report to law enforcement.
Avatar f tn Hello- From June of this year til October of this year, I was in a monogamous relationship. The first 2 months we used condoms when we had sex, the last 2 months we did not as I was on birth control and I thought I could trust him. With our work schedules and just general life we only saw one another once a week, which is when we had sex. In October he told me he had been cheating on me almost the whole time we were together and we broke up. Scared of having something exhibit #1.
518031 tn?1295575374 I do not tolerate any use of any drug that is illegal as it adds to our already growing problems of obtaining pain management help.
Avatar f tn -- 72 percent had used alcohol at least once in their lives. -- 37 percent had used marijuana. -- 8 percent had used hallucinogenic drugs, such as LSD or mescaline. -- 6.7 percent had used ecstasy. -- 6 percent had used cocaine. Clearly, alcohol poses a greater risk to the greatest number of teens than does any other drug, even marijuana.
223152 tn?1346978371 Before starting tx number two in 2011 I had to have a Fibroscan in order to qualify for the free drugs from the drug company before they were licenced here. My fibroscan showed 6.7 which was equivalent to F0 - F1 and below the threshold required to qualify. They redid the fibroscan 5 minutes later and got a reading of 7.2 -equivalent to F2 which bought me the golden ticket. so I guess I count as F2. I have a new fibroscan being done in 6 months to see if things have changed now I am SVR.
Avatar n tn If a doctor prescribes you a drug that is FDA approved, as appears to have happened in this case, you didn't take an illegal drug. It's only illegal if you take it without a prescription.
Avatar f tn Who knows? It's not an FDA approved drug, somebody cooked it up in their bathroom for all we know. It's basically a synthesis of clonazepam and alzoprolam, from what I can tell, but since it's not used by docs or in hospitals but only by those seeking a recreational high you're in territory without a lot of officially reported reactions.
Avatar m tn These negative aspects make it a potential drug. That is why there are countries which have banned this drug. In the United States, however the drug is fairly new and it is banned only in a few states. If found possession of kratom in those states, you could land in up jail for 6 months or could have to pay a fine of $500 or both. Some people categorize kratom products as a legal high drug. Legal high drugs are those which can get you high but are still not banned by FDA.
Avatar m tn The mean age at death was highest for those with HCC (64 years) and lowest for those with drug-related cause of death (36 years). The mean age of decedents with liver disease (without HCC) was 51 years. Overall, HCV-infected individuals had a mortality rate 3 times higher than that of the general population (SMR = 3.0 for both men and women). The number of deaths from unrelated medical causes and suicide in the study cohort was close to the expected number of deaths in the general population.
Avatar m tn Death from opiate wd is about as infrequant as death from taking aspirin. Sounds like you were physically dependant. Tapering for a non addict, physically dependant person is a much more doable thing then tapering for an addict but great if you can do it.
Avatar n tn If you are on methadone because a doctor is prescribing it to you then probably not because you have to be weaned off of it or it has severe effects.. even death.. its not something you can quit cold turkey.. be open with your doctor about it.. If he/she is aware then its a different story.. if you are taking it for recreational use, then there is a chance the ywill be involved once your baby is born.
1649704 tn?1402778437 Should we do more than slap people on the wrist for selling illegal drugs? What more can be done for those who are lost in drug addiction?... Illegal drug use has effected some of my family and friends, and probably yours. I would really like some input on this.
Avatar f tn m still trying to figure out. That will tell us something one way or another. I already know that illegal drug use per capita has declined from the 70's and 80's but I don't know if it has remained static percentage wise per capita from 1999 to 2009 or gone up or down. Generally the percentage of illicit drug users per capita remains within a couple percentage points up or down from year to year. And these kinds of statisics are hardly very accurate.
