Common Questions and Answers about Ideal weight realistic

Avatar n tn Hello, I am a 29 year old female, 5'4 and 131 pounds. I recently lost over 100 pounds in the course of a year through diet and exercise. (starting weight 244 in September of 2010). I have always been overweight, and now have a lot of excess skin, which is to be expected. My question is about my ideal weight. My goal started at 150 pounds, then 140, then 130, now I'm thinking my ideal would be 120.
Avatar n tn Your ideal weight depends on your age, as well as your height and weight. A child's ideal weight will be different from that of a teenager and a teenager will be different from that of an adult. There are a variety of exercises that will burn fat.
Avatar f tn 1 .Alkaline, low carb diet. No junk foods, no sodas, no sweets, no fast food. 2. Drink plenty spring water 1 hour away from eating. 3. Coconut oil increases metabolism- Use only as a replacement for other fats. 4. Increase activity level, do some weight training (muscle burns a lot more calories than fat-don't worry, females do not "bulk" up easy, lol!), walk everywhere if possible, take the stairs instead of elevators. 5. Visualize your ideal body as often as you can!
Avatar f tn I'd like to start by saying, you should focus less on trying to cut fats out of your diet, and focus more on cutting out BAD fats and intaking GOOD fats. When your body gets low on good fast people can have problems losing weight, menstrual problems, heart problems, etc. Good fats: avocados, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil. Avoid the bad fats: animal fats, greese, fried, butter.
Avatar f tn BG level was 226! How can I get it lower fast?! In one night, what's a realistic expectation?
1676558 tn?1305460105 Do what feels right for you. I myself want to get to around 170 which is a size 8 for me but all the charts say that is obese. I don't look or feel obese at that size. If you want a more formal opinion go to your doctor. They should messure your wrists and use other tools to calculte your "ideal weight". But you got to be realistic. At 42 it would be VERY hard for me to go back to 125 lbs. I don't even think I would look good being that small. And then again.
479244 tn?1271563659 Does anyone know anything about the IDEAL study? This is where I think the info came from regarding my original decision to go with the pegintron.... less relapse rate, less sides, stays in system shorter amt. of time when you come off , etc. My new nurse, said that study had a lot of flaws and she did not put a lot of faith in it and talked me into pegysus... any comments would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Hi to all! my name is karen and am new to this community. I need to lose 84 lbs over a year and I want to know is that a realistic goal?? I am currently 224 lbs and 5' 6''. I am reasonably healthy and have tried to lose weight before but find it hard as I have pcos, so any tips for losing weight would be extremely helpful!
Avatar f tn your best weight depends on several factors besides your age. How tall are you? What is your body type, i.e., small boned, large boned, average boned, medium boned. The best thing to do is type into your internet, "Ideal weight, or what is my ideal weight"? The internet will help you figure it out. I am 5'11" tall and my ideal weight would be 105 lbs. (if I were younger) to 112 lbs. I have a small frame.
Avatar m tn Are you really saying that all of us that HAVE lost serious weight through proper diet and exercise are wasting our time or are you just not happy with the results of your efforts? I know what the ideal BMI is and I have that as my goal. To say EVERYONE has a predisposed weight they can never alter is either an excuse or just plain backwards thinking.
Avatar f tn His goal is not necessarily to get all MI off meds, but at low enough doses to decrease or eliminate side effects of meds. Of coarse the ideal is med free, but not everyone can do that. I like his realistic approach. Good luck.
18428579 tn?1464968484 If yes how much should i lose. If no, what is my ideal wight. If 55 kg is not my ideal weight, what is my ideal weight?? I wanna lose. Because i have 3-4 slim friends who are taller than me but around my weight.
Avatar n tn o=0 I’m rarely ill and I can loose and gain weight easily. I’ve been around many people with viruses and not caught anything. I also got my blood pressure tested two years ago; it was practically normal. I suppose my questions go as this. 1.I’m not sure, if this is one fungus infection that has spread or is multiple ones. Most likely spread since they are localised to the top half of my body and I haven’t treated them.
Avatar f tn Your midwife or doctor will let you know how much weight is ideal for you to put on during your pregnancy. If you have a normal BMI they say between 11 - 16kg weight gain is fine.. I at 29w and I think I have gained around 10kg so far, but in the beginning weight gain was very slow! At this stage I think your fine :) But remember weight gain is not all you putting on weight.. bub, fluid, placenta all add to it.
Avatar f tn Way to much weight for a12 yr old.At 15, I weighed 150, & that was to much forme!!!I ended up losing 35lbs. to get tomy ideal weight!!!
Avatar f tn I would suggest making an appointment with your family doctor to discuss a realistic weight loss and a possible new food plan to achieve this new realistic goal. Losing 15 lbs in 2 weeks is not realistic and can put your health in jeopardy, big time. I wish you well.
Avatar m tn If you have already reached then then you should work owards maintaining it and not losing weight further. Too fast weight loss can cause rebound weight gain. Also, it can cause other problems such as loose skin, flabs at unwanted places etc. Apart from losing weight, you need to tone up the body. A combination of aerobic, strength training and stretches works best. Many people find it difficult to fit an exercise regimen into their lives.
Avatar f tn No, that's realistic. Safe weight loss is 1-2 pounds/week. Trying to lose more than that could be dangerous.
