Avatar m tn Newer thinking is that the waist/height ratio may be more relevant than BMI at least in terms of ideal body composition. Your height should be twice your weight in inches (or more), at least for men. Don't think this emphasis on belly fat was studied in terms of SVR but it couldn't hurt to lose any excess prior to treatment.
Avatar n tn I want to know if my weight is correct for my age and height. (Male, 54, 5ft 5in, 145 pounds, Asian Indian). I'm a marginal diabetic (excellent control with 1/2 tablet of 1 mg metformin at night). I walk 40-60 min every single day (3.5 mph), do 30 min of pranayama and 30 min of yoga asanas on alternate days and 30 min of dumbbell weight training on the other three days. Yet, my weight won't go down.
Avatar f tn Stick with your healthy diet, proper amount of sleep, sufficient exercise, and stay away from tobacco and let nature take its course. You may or may not have reached your full height, but as you are still young, you may still see some further growth.
Avatar f tn If you google BMI calculator, you will find any number of programs that will let you enter your height and weight, and they give you your BMI. The ideal range for BMI is considered to be 20 to 25, and your BMI is right about in the middle of that range. No need to worry. Just eat healthy foods and get a healthy amount of exercise, and you will stay in the same weight range that you are now. If you grow in height, you will naturally gain weight, but it will be proportional.

Avatar n tn I do eat at least 3 meals a day and sometimes snacks in between. My concern is that, is this a healthy weight for my height? And how can I get back to my previous weight a healthy way? My weight was always steady and I felt more comfortable at 130. I know this must sound crazy with today's world where people are trying to lose weight but I am having a problem gaining weight. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Ideal pregnancy weight gain is all based off your starting weight/height ratio. If you feel you are gaining to fast maybe try healthier smaller meals and adding some excessive (light eversizs) you can't do a whole lot about weight gain during pregnancy besides earrings right and trying to avoid binging on cravings and instead eat just enough to knock the craving out. Unless your dr is concerened (and they will tell you) just enjoy the pregnancy!
Avatar m tn There really is no "average" weight for a 14 yr old. There are recommended weights that depend on whether you are male or female, your height, etc. Someone who is taller should, typically, weigh more than someone who is shorter.
2100308 tn?1388496839 I'm not a 100% sure, but I've heard RE's prefer you are not under or over weight for your height. I would just check with your RE if that's a problem. Best of luck to you w/ IVF!
Avatar f tn The ideal body weight for your height (5ft 2in) is between 125 and 136.63 lbs. So your weight is fine. If you are worried about it you can just start getting involved in school sports or if that is not your thing, just start walking for 1/2 or more a day. It never hurts to be more fit!
Avatar m tn I have since lost about 15 KG and it is still going down @ 1 kg per month. I was happy to reach my ideal weight. However, I do not know how to stop further loss. I am Diabetic, so can not discontinue Metformin. Any suggestion ?
Avatar f tn Has your veterinarian examined your new dog yet? They would be best able to assess his weight and determine if he is too thin. A fecal exam for parasites would also be a good idea. The most common nutritional problem in US dogs is obesity, and it is generally a good thing to be able to see a "waist" from above and from the side.
