Is Motrin ok to take while breastfeeding , I'm n pain && I don't wanna take the prescribed medicine.
I was taking tramadol and ibuprofen that my doctor prescribed me after i came home she knew i was only going to breastfeed, i did research and they were ok to take while breastfeeding.
My midwife said I could take advil because of pain and fever and it was safe for my baby he's perfectly fine.
Oh just re-read your question and honestly I don't know. I do know you can take ibuprofen while breastfeeding and you can take tylenol and ibuprofen together. So if you have ibuprofen I'd take that.
With that said I am curious as to what pain medicine would be safe to take while breastfeeding? It hurts to move around and the initial sitting down and standing hurts too. I know I just had some traumatic stuff happen down there and it takes time but I need the pain dulled a little bit.

My son is two days old, we just got home yesterday. While I was in hospital I was taking percocet and Motrin for pain and I was sent home with oxycodone and ibuprofen. I am strictly breastfeeding. While in the hospital only my colostrum was coming out.. now my milk has come in and I'm thinking that the pain meds are in my milk bc every time my baby eats he is knocked out cold after only eating for a few minutes, nothing wakes him except a diaper change..
ve had chronic hip pain aka bursitis for about 18 years it got worse when pregnant pain still lingers all the time my dr think i am faking it because i do take anything but ibuprofen already take many drug s for ptsd did not while pregnant nor aftef due to breastfeeding baby. filed claim with va and ssdi they state if so bad off why do i have custody of my kids nevermind i did not what to take medications out of fear for myself and child.

Is it true you shouldn't take ibuprofen it can harm the baby? I just seen this today while doing research as to this is my first. i have been taking it before I found out I was thinking my period was coming and I've always had bad cramps so I know to start taking it before my period comes to help with the pain. Should I be worried that I've harmed the baby from taking it? I'm 5 weeks BTW.
I am already taking microgestin and ibuprofen. She also gave me shot of kanolog for my allergies.
Before seeing her the only medication I had been on for three years was birth control and ibuprofen for migraines. Now I am on a whole list of things. When I went to check drug interactions for some over the counter cold medicine I wanted to take I saw that the medicine she prescribed me has interactions!!!! She never informed me of this.

Please help me, its normal for me to have headaches during the day( thank you migraines) but im starting to get headaches while sleeping, i try different positions, sleeping without pillow, using different pillows... I had a c-section with my first. The gave me percocet in the hospital and to come home for the pain. I breastfed and used formula (I didn't have enough milk).
My baby was fine. I didn't think the recovery was that bad. I telly didn't have any pain after being home a couple of days.
I just talked to my midwife about breastfeeding while pregnant this morning and she said it is perfectly fine. She said people who don't know the facts think you need to stop, but that is not true. Personally I am breastfeeding my 22 month old and I am 14 weeks pregnant. If she doesn't self wean I'll be tandem nursing them in March! Good for you to be educating yourself and not just doing what others say. You are being a fantastic Mom and meeting the needs of both babies!
