ibuprofen

Avatar n tn You also really really need to watch for the acetaminophen (Tylenol; APAP, Paracetamol)) that is in any hydrocodone (Vicodin, Lortab, Norco) or oxycodone (Percocet, Endoce) compounds in the US and many other places. If you have cirrhosis, no more than 2000-mg/day That is spread out over 24 'running' hours and not taking 2000-mg at 11pm and 2000-mg more at 1am. I know how addicts think from my own personal battles! And no more than 4000-mg for 'normal' people.
Avatar m tn Can I stop taking Aceclofenac+paracetamol which my ortho had prescribed for 10 days twice daily after 2 days itself as I do not experience any pain now? Thank you.
Avatar m tn Not the worst I have ever felt, but it is constant, instead of coming and going like all my past injuries.Been taking the doses of ibuprofen and paracetamol recommended to me, it takes the edge off, but still constant pain. I have had a few beers as a recreational thing tonight, and now it feels fine. I allowed six hours after my last dose of pharms, so think I should be OK for the recommendation not to mix with alcohol.
Avatar n tn 5 mg/80 mg hydrocodone/acetaminophen, 10 mg/80 mg hydrocodone/acetaminophen, 15 mg/80 mg hydrocodone/acetaminophen, 10 mg/100 mg hydrocodone/acetaminophen, 15 mg/100 mg hydrocodone/acetaminophen, 10 mg/200 mg hydrocodone/acetaminophen, 15 mg/200 mg hydrocodone/acetaminophen, 5 mg/500 mg hydrocodone/acetaminophen, 10 mg/200 mg hydrocodone/ibuprofen, and 15 mg/200 mg hydrocodone/ibuprofen
7758733 tn?1402589420 Ibuprofen is a nono.
1084115 tn?1385228589 Of course, I am not a doctor, but my husband's hepatologist recommends that my husband take Ibuprofen for fever or pain, rather than Tylenol. I would suggest taking the smallest dosage of Ibuprofen possible and stay under the total limit allowed for a 24 hr period and stop taking it when you don't need it anymore. Drink lots of fluids for your fever and don't bundle up too tightly.
Avatar f tn Studies have demonstrated that at certain dosages, ibuprofen can stress the liver and elevate liver enzymes in people with Hepatitis C. Ibuprofen must be used with extreme caution in the later stages of liver disease and for those on interferon therapy. 3. Aspirin – (Bayer, Anacin, Excedrin and others) reduces fever, relieves pain, and acts as an anti-inflammatory and blood thinner.
Avatar m tn Acetaminophen - Acetaminophen, also known as paracetamol, is commonly used for its analgesic and antipyretic effects. Its therapeutic effects are similar to salicylates, but it lacks anti-inflammatory, antiplatelet, and gastric ulcerative effects. Indication: For temporary relief of fever and minor aches and pains.
1909342 tn?1321993880 I usually take one Tramadol ( 50 mg ) a day for a somewhat chronic pain in my neck, back and shoulders, since I cannot afford physical therapy at the time. Yesterday I took a lot of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol instead, because I had an important exam at the University and didn't want to be groggy. I am concerned, when to start taking Tramadol again or going with the combination of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol instead, since Ibuprofen also has an effect on inflammations. Am I taking to much?
Avatar m tn Short answer: Yes it is safe. Long answer: Vicodin contains paracetamol & hydrocodone, and Zoloft contains sertraline. paracetamol is a non-opioid analgesic, hydrocodone is an opioid, and sertaline is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). These classes of drug do not react with each other.
Avatar f tn No you cant take ibuprofen you can paracetamol omand codeine
Avatar n tn The label on my bottle says to not take the tenofovir with ibuprofen. However, I previously asked my doctor if ibuprofen (among many other question I had) would be okay to take alongside it occasionally --- and he said it was no problem. Hmmm. What to believe? The label or the doctor? o_O Any personal experience with the interaction of these two medications?
1148241 tn?1294052796 I recently quit taking Vicodin for my joint pain because I was concerned about liver damage. I have been taking Ibuprofen instead. I've been taking two in the morning and then two in the afternoon. It says don't take longer than 10 days though. I have to take something though. My knees and wrists and fingers hurt too much if I don't. I know you guys aren't Drs but experience counts for something if its what your Dr has told you. What do you guys take?
Avatar f tn What analgesic a person can safely take is dictated by the stage of liver disease, not the treatment drugs or any other factor. Only folks with stage 4 liver disease (cirrhosis) need to be concerned and limited in the analgesics they take. Others with lesser liver disease can use anything that is effective for them. Patients with cirrhosis should ONLY use acetaminophen (Tylenol, Paracetamol) for minor pain relief and fever reduction up to the dosage their hepatologist recommends.
Avatar f tn Ibuprofen +acetaminophen(Tylenol )yields more analgesic effect. However, seeing a dentist ASAP is advised.
1654058 tn?1407159066 Karen, Your platelets are already low, and NSAIDs can increase the risk for bleeding; imho, acetaminophen over the ibuprofen, hands down. With low platelets from tx and a compromised liver and kidney system, any of the NSAIDs are contra-indicated for you (includes Motrin, Advil, Aleve). Tylenol is not to be taken indiscriminately either, though. With cirrhosis, no more than 2000 mg per day max (that means no more than 4 Extra Strength Tylenol in any 24 hour period).
Avatar f tn I posted this on one of my other discussions - so sorry if it seems repetitive. The pain hit as I was trying - yet again - to catch some sleep. I just couldn't lie comfortably. I finally gave in & took 2 paracetamol & 2 amitriptyline which my dr said would take the edge off the pain. It's codeine that I'm trying to quit - and I didn't take it - but I felt I needed something to numb the pain! Have I failed?
