7758733 tn?1402589420 Killer headaches, and never any Tylenol around. Ibuprofen can't be that bad huh? Got to go to work and this headache must go.
Avatar f tn am. Ibuprofen is a big no while pregnant unfortunately. Tylenol is what you want. Talk to your doctor about something stronger that may be safer.
Avatar f tn Oh just re-read your question and honestly I don't know. I do know you can take ibuprofen while breastfeeding and you can take tylenol and ibuprofen together. So if you have ibuprofen I'd take that.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately not, you can have Tylenol.
Avatar f tn Has anyone heard of any reactions to ibuprofen while pregnant?
7381903 tn?1391464888 Ibuprofen is never allowed.. Tylenol is only option and now that im in third trimester the pharmacy told me that doctors dont even want us taking that.
Avatar f tn I cracked. I had a 24 hr migraine and ive tried everything. I took tylenol this morning. I took Ibuprofen an hour ago . I coudnnt take it anymore. It was a one time thing and i feel so much better. Will my baby be okay?
Avatar f tn Two completely different compounds. Tylenol, or acetaminophen has been deemed safe during pregnancy, ibuprofen, or Advil has NOT. As for aspirin, that's correct, it's a blood thinner.
Avatar n tn I've been having very bad tooth aches. I used to take ibuprofen & it stop the pain almost immediately. I'm 7 weeks. Can I take 1?
Avatar f tn Is it true you shouldn't take ibuprofen it can harm the baby? I just seen this today while doing research as to this is my first. i have been taking it before I found out I was thinking my period was coming and I've always had bad cramps so I know to start taking it before my period comes to help with the pain. Should I be worried that I've harmed the baby from taking it? I'm 5 weeks BTW.
Avatar f tn I had a really bad headache yesterday and took 6 200mg ibuprofen tablets ( 2 every 4 hours 3 times) and then I found out today your not suppose to take ibuprofen. I'm really worried, will everything be okay?
Avatar f tn No ibuprofen. It's a big no no during pregnancy. You can take Tylenol. Also, drink plenty of water. Eucalyptus oil in the shower or diffuser will help clear you up a bit.
Avatar f tn Tylenol is the only safe otc stuff, since everything else has asprin in it, and asprin is really bad for baby
4444857 tn?1383325813 Yeah my doctor also said any Tylenol is fine, even extra strength, its just stuff like ibuprofen that we need to stay away from so no Aleve or anything like that obviously.
3122657 tn?1357432602 Hi all so far 3 months into treatment i was pretty much sailing through it but not by body is hurting my back my legs just everything i ran out of Acetaminophen and want to know if anyone here knows if i can take Ibuprofen for the aches i am undetectable at week 4 no liver damage if someone could help me out with this Thanks Much love Karen
1084115 tn?1385228589 Of course, I am not a doctor, but my husband's hepatologist recommends that my husband take Ibuprofen for fever or pain, rather than Tylenol. I would suggest taking the smallest dosage of Ibuprofen possible and stay under the total limit allowed for a 24 hr period and stop taking it when you don't need it anymore. Drink lots of fluids for your fever and don't bundle up too tightly.
Avatar f tn No Advil or anything with ibuprofen. Tylenol if necessary. My Dr says ibuprofen and Aspirin can cause miscarriages and some birth defects.
Avatar m tn Can Kidney pain be a side effect of taking Ibuprofen? I was taking ibuprofen last week consecutively for 3 days (400mg t.i.d) after laser eye surgery. A day or so after starting it I experienced mild pain/discomfort in my left flank that came in waves. When I stopped taking the ibuprofen the flank pain also stopped. The next day I took one more dose - the flank pain started again within an hour, but was gone the next day.
7721203 tn?1468443229 wow, totally out of Tylenol! )): thank you though, at least it's not a high fever or anything.. I'll just keep drinking and put on some cooler clothes. definitely getting some tomorrow though, just in case. thanks again!!
1148241 tn?1294052796 Anything you ingest by mouth is eventually going to go through your liver. From what I've read, ibuprofen isn't as hard on the liver as tylenol (acetomenaphen or paracetamol), but still be careful to take no more than what the label says, and tell your doctor you're taking it. If it works, your doctor may direct you to take more than what's on the label, but again, follow instructions, dosage and timing carefully. Stay away from the "extra strength" formulas.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone - question - did any of you avoid taking ibuprofen (advil) between ovulation and when AF should arrive? I suffer from a lot of headaches and migraines and ibuprofen has always worked so well for my headaches. Tylenol hardly helps at all. Anyway, I've been finding it difficult during the 2ww. Should I be avoiding ibuprofen during that time?
1654058 tn?1407159066 Karen, Your platelets are already low, and NSAIDs can increase the risk for bleeding; imho, acetaminophen over the ibuprofen, hands down. With low platelets from tx and a compromised liver and kidney system, any of the NSAIDs are contra-indicated for you (includes Motrin, Advil, Aleve). Tylenol is not to be taken indiscriminately either, though. With cirrhosis, no more than 2000 mg per day max (that means no more than 4 Extra Strength Tylenol in any 24 hour period).
