There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! I have been taking 2-4 ibprogen 200 mg. tablets for 4 months on a daily basis. Does this still fit into the manufacturer's guidelines for this product. I'm concerned about long term side effects.

My question is - with the different medications your doctor has prescribed are you still alternating them with the ibuprofen? If so, my thinking is that perhaps the culprit for the rash is the ibuprofen and not these other meds.

Hi: Thanks so much for your advice. I don't know exactly which cream he is using, but at this point I suggested that he sees a dermatologist. I believe his penile rash is hives, which is one of the listed, although uncommon, allergic side effects to the Metro Gel. It's been 6 days and no Improvement. Can Kidney pain be a side effect of taking Ibuprofen? I was taking ibuprofen last week consecutively for 3 days (400mg t.i.d) after laser eye surgery. A day or so after starting it I experienced mild pain/discomfort in my left flank that came in waves. When I stopped taking the ibuprofen the flank pain also stopped. The next day I took one more dose - the flank pain started again within an hour, but was gone the next day.

If he is experiencing an increase in heart palpitations while taking Florinef, I would recommend asking his doctor to check his Potassium level. Florinef can deplete the body of Potassium, which can cause all sorts of unusual side effects. Not to mention the fact that patients with Dysautonomia are notorious for being particularly intolerant to any electrolyte imbalance. The reaction you describe does sound a bit more like an allergic reaction though.

I was prescribed Mupirocin for a non-healing nasal ulcer. I used it for about 2 days then woke up with a bad headache today from the get go. I've tried everything I can.
