Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen pregnancy class

ibuprofen

Avatar f tn Ibuprofen doesn't have aspirin in it, its just the same class of meds. They are NSAIDs.... But Tylenol is the only thing you can take.
Avatar f tn Ibuprofen is a blood thinner as well as aspirin. They are all the same class known as NSAIDs. No NSAID is safe unless recommended by your Dr for clot prevention. I believe you posted this in another age forum too and someone said its a muscle relaxer, that is not correct it is an antiinflammatory, not a muscle relaxer.
Avatar f tn I don't know if I'm pregnant or not but If I am can Ibuprofen harm my child during early stages of pregnancy?

Avatar f tn I took 4 ibuprofen during pregnancy 3 hours apart.. I read online that ibuprofen is not allowed during pregnancy??? Does anyone know if it's ok or why it's not allowed my doctors office won't answer but I'm really scared now.
Avatar f tn No ibuprofen. It's a big no no during pregnancy. You can take Tylenol. Also, drink plenty of water. Eucalyptus oil in the shower or diffuser will help clear you up a bit.
Avatar f tn t find them particulaly helpful. My class just covered what I had already read in the 1 pregnancy book I bought so I talked to the instructor and stopped going.
Avatar n tn Correct. Ibuprofen or Naproxen, but not both. One or the other. I find Naproxen the most helpful, as it works more quickly. Aleve is a brand name for OTC Naproxen. Tyelenol is in a different category. Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDS) are the ones you want to treat inflammation. Aspirin is also in this class. Again, only use one form of these and not all of them.
Avatar f tn There isn't much definitive research done on ibuprofen it's self but it is a class C drug...
Avatar n tn This is my 4th pregnancy and I thought ibuprofen was a big no-no. I have had constant headaches for the past 3 months so he gave me that. Anyone else been prescribed ibuprofen? Or know anything more about it?
1132555 tn?1278078501 I was using acne medicines that are Category C for about the first 3 weeks of my pregnancy, until my doctor told me to stop taking them. I was using Duac daily and Bactrim. Could these have caused birth defects that quickly?
7559418 tn?1393386476 Health class is nothing compared to being pregnant! LOL I didn't realize how much vaginal discharge you can have during the pregnancy. Panty liners become your best friend. In my second trimester my boobs always leaked and that never stopped.
Avatar f tn Ibuprofen is not to be taken during pregnancy.. Ive gt migraines and now that in pregnant its so severe because I can't take ny usual medication so I take paracetamol low dose for the sake of the baby even tho it doesn't helo much.. try washing her hair with cold water n place cold olive oil in her hair she should feel better with that.. well it works for me..
Avatar f tn I'm going to take a breastfeeding class and the pregnancy class. I'm a FTM and neither of us (husband and I) have been around young children or in the L&D section of the hospital. So even if i don't get a tun of info, I feel any is better than none. But then again we are the kinda people that are always over prepared.
Avatar f tn Never ever ever take advil or ibuprofen during pregnancy. It's a blood thinner. Your md should have given you a safe med list. Tylenol.
Avatar n tn ibuprofen have reported death cases on people with liver diseases, same aspirin, absolutely out of question the safest and most potent pain relever is harpagoside contained in Devil's Claw: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harpagophytum no toxicity at any dose it is a vegetable used regularly for centuries in several countires.
Avatar f tn Two completely different compounds. Tylenol, or acetaminophen has been deemed safe during pregnancy, ibuprofen, or Advil has NOT. As for aspirin, that's correct, it's a blood thinner.
Avatar f tn Ibuprofen (and all NSAIDs) are a big no go during pregnancy (with the occasional exception of aspirin for certain medical conditions, and only under direction of a physician).... Tylenol (acetaminophen) is really the only thing you can take.
Avatar f tn Well you learn something new every day...lol. I knew ibuprofen was off limits during pregnancy, but had no idea it was a problem ttc. Good info!!
Avatar f tn Has anyone heard of any reactions to ibuprofen while pregnant?
Avatar f tn Is it true you shouldn't take ibuprofen it can harm the baby? I just seen this today while doing research as to this is my first. i have been taking it before I found out I was thinking my period was coming and I've always had bad cramps so I know to start taking it before my period comes to help with the pain. Should I be worried that I've harmed the baby from taking it? I'm 5 weeks BTW.
