The Advil had 200 mg of ibuprofen. Later on I got cramps so at around four I took two midol extra strength. Each pill had 500 mg of acetominophen. I have contacted the hospital back home and was told to stop taking in the medication I have been using so far and immediately switch to Ibuprofen, so that I'll be able to avoid an overdose.
Ibuprofen, in high amounts for years, will cause ulcers and kidney failure. Three years of that much ibuprofen is enough to cause fatal kidney failure in some sensitive people.
I recommend learning about the treatment of opiate dependence in general; there are several options these days. But for all of them, success depends upon the motivation of the addict-- not the addict's family members, who are usually motivated long before the addict is.
