ibuprofen

Avatar n tn You should be just fine unless you have an allergy to ibuprofen. Prescription Motrin is 800mg of Ibuprofen so that is the equivalent of four of the 200mg Ibuprofen. If you don't break out in a rash or have breathing difficulties after taking one or two Ibuprofen, please don't lose sleep over taking a third. As I said, as long as you can take Ibuprofen in the first place without having a problem, three won't bother you.
Avatar m tn According to research institutes, Ibuprofen overdose damages your internal organs like liver. While in some cases it has been reported that it has result in a permanent liver damage, in other cases where the victim was taking the dose for a long and continued period it has resulted in organ failure one by one.
Avatar f tn My bf just took over 10 ibuprofen pills of 600mg. He says that he doesn't feel bad just a little stomach pain. Now he's sleeping! Will something happen to him during the night?
1305767 tn?1361192676 I take 15 mg of the Meloxicam in the morning for pain but need additional pain relief later in the day and I know that both drugs are NSAID so I don't want to accidentally overdose.
Avatar m tn I am only taking pain medication during the first couple days of my period, and also only if necessary (pain above 7/10, not being able to move, vomiting due to cramps, etc). I am not a US citizen and am limited in my options in seeking appropriate health care at this point in time as my doctor is across the pond in Europe. I have been to several Gynos so far, and after hospitalization 2 years ago finally found one that had extensive experiences in dealing with Severe Dysmenorrhea.
Avatar f tn I over dosed on 300 200 mg Ibuprofen and was taken to the ER last week where i was given charcoal. Ever since i came back home my body has been acting funny and i am having extreme pain (it feels like my right kidney but it seems a little low to be my kidney) and i was wondering if there could have been some internal damage that would not have shown up right after the overdose but a little bit after? Should I be concerned or is this just my body trying to fix it's self?
Avatar f tn Nobody knows. I had an ibuprofen overdose, but it was over a long period of time, and it affected my intestines, mostly my colon, causing colitis. I had frank blood suddenly one day, without any stool at all, and the abdomonal pain was horrible. I had a colonostopy, and was on medication for 2 months to try to heal my colon, it affected 3 ft, and it was almost gangrene. By the time I went to the emergency room, I hadn't eaten in 2 days, and yet the stupid, and I mean STUPID emergency Dr.
Avatar m tn Can someone give me either the symptoms or the timeline for an Ibuprofen overdose? And what's going to happen if I don't get treatment? I've taken approx. 40 200mg ibuprofen tablets, 32 hours ago.
Avatar f tn Is it safe to take 800mg ibuprofen & 650mg Percocet (each pill 325mg) together at once?
Avatar n tn can harm your liver, but only in overdose quantities. The narcotics in the pain meds, like hydrocodone, codeine, and others are usually not harmful to the liver. The thing the docs worry about is the potential for abuse and/or addiction. The abuse could easily lead to the overdose (on the acetaminophen) which is very dangerous, as Hector points out. I asked my new doc for some Lortab, which I have found very helpful for the aches of TX along with increased frequency of migraine headaches.
Avatar m tn once I seriously focussed on the lower back and hips, the connection to my endless upper abdominal pain (which was liver pain) became quite clear. I use the "True Back" and a "Tetter Hang-Up Inversion Table" to decompress my back and hips. Hope this helps anyone who's experienced my world.
Avatar f tn , Advil, Midol) should work better because Ibuprofen helps with swelling in addition to pain. Personally, I find the Ibuprofen-based only helps me with my back ache and not the cramps whereas Tylenol (acetamenophin-based) helps me with my cramps. As far as when-you-can-just-sit-around methods (perhaps in conjunction with the pain med of your choice): Heating pads can help. Curling up into a tight ball or sitting with your knees to your chest can help.
Avatar f tn nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, confusion, and abdominal pain, but these symptoms may also be absent. The problems associated with acute liver toxicity may not show up until a couple of days after ingestion of the large Tylenol dose. If you are displaying any of these symptoms OR if you are really worried I recommend calling your local poison control center (see what they think); alternatively, you could go to your local hospital & get them to check out your liver function.
Avatar f tn I have had a lot of aches and pains over the last few weeks. The latest pain that I'm having now is low abdominal pain with slight cramping. I just feel so much pressure in the lower part of my stomach. It's very uncomfortable. In the past when I've complained to my dr about various aches and pains, she said they were just growing pains and surprisely told me to take ibuprofen. Well, I'm 25 weeks today and know that I am too far along to continue that regimen.
Avatar n tn I overdosed two days ago on ibuprofen and still feel off. Should I seek treatment? Would it still help? Would I be a suicide risk?
Avatar n tn Have been giving my 15 month Ibuprofen for teething pain-are there side effects for giving too much? she has been screaming off and on for awhile. Can she be hulicinating?
Avatar f tn I am 18 years old and have been having moderate to severe pain in my abdominal area. It started 3 days ago really low and got so severe I could not stand. It started in an ice hockey game and got progressively worse. The pain has now spread all on the left side reaching up to my ribcage. Sometimes it's a severe stabbing pain or throbbing. I had blood work done and an abdominal ultrasound which all came back normal.
Avatar f tn not necessarily. there might not be any abdominal pain whatsoever.
Avatar n tn An arthritis pain medicine may not work for other kind of pain. In general, ibuprofen and acetaminophen are two most common active ingredients in most readily available over-the-counter pain relievers. Neither of them is completely safe. From what I learned, if you have little or no liver damage, you can use either ibuprofen or acetaminophen. But if your liver damage is more advanced, acetaminophen is safer AS LONG AS YOU DON'T OVERDOSE IT OR MIX IT WITH ALCOHOL.
Avatar m tn This past 2 weeks I was ill with the h1n1 virus. During the 2 weeks, I consumed over 50 200mg pills of ibuprofen. I have had blood work done twice (5 days ago and 2 days ago). Both resulted in increased liver enzymes. I haven't had any ibuprofen in 4 days. Is it possible that my liver enzyme increase is a result of the "overdose" with the ibuprofen. My doctor has scheduled another blood work screening in two weeks. Will my liver enzymes decrease in this amount of time?
Avatar f tn Overuse, accidental overdose or abuse can lead to problems in few people. Abdominal pain, bloating can be experienced by few people. You may find some benefit by taking an over the counter antacid and antispasmodic for relief from pain. You need to control your constipation by eating fiber-rich foods, drinking at least 10 glasses of water each day and exercising regularly. If the abdominal pain is severe it is best to see a doctor. Do keep us posted. Take care and regards!
Avatar m tn His doctor was horrified yesterday (day after shot) and had him take Benadryl, Ibuprofen and apply lots of ice. Today he received an IV antiobiotic and will get more tomorrow and find out what it is. The say he may have cellulitis. We both believe that his reaction is due to getting a 2nd dose so soon after the first and we hope that he does not have any lasting issues such as an impaired elbow joint, from this.
14955640 tn?1437548973 Hi, for the past 3 years (I am 41 years old) I am suffering from the pelvic pain (left side only, lower back too). In the past year the pain became more severe, I feel like it's getting worse with each period. The doctor diagnosed endometriosis some time ago. The last month the pain is really unbearable; it spread to the groin left side, upper back too - I feel twinges and sharp pains all over sometimes.
Avatar n tn I sometimes worry about people, and their different types of pain, and their different health situations that cause their pain. If I give opinions sometimes that seem abit ecentric, I don't mean it in a disrespectful way.
Avatar f tn Let me start off by saying that I just had a baby about 4 months ago, a few days after giving birth I woke up at 3am with an weird stomach pain, I tossed and turned until I finally couldn't take it anymore. The pain was radiating from dull to severe, I thought it was chest pains and that I was having a heart attack, a few hours at the ER and the result was acid reflux. I went home feeling better and happy it was over with, then two nights later I woke up at the same time 3am.
Avatar m tn for the last 3 days i feeling this slight lower abdominal pain, slightly about the groin area, it is more of a pressure that occurs when i tend to stand up or sit down...and i have been feeling the same sort of pressure in th anal area. as well, when going to the toilet i feel that pressure in the lower abdomen area, and the anal area. But pain as in pain, it is not there. I go to toilet normally, i have no problem with urinating, no bleeding what so ever. been under a lot of stress lately.
