Avatar f tn I would ask your doctor or pharmacist to be 100% sure, because I am NOT a medical professional, just another patient like you, but technically, yes because Ibuprofen and the acetaminophen in the percocet are two totally different meds. I am prescribed both myself if that helps you at all.
7758733 tn?1402589420 Killer headaches, and never any Tylenol around. Ibuprofen can't be that bad huh? Got to go to work and this headache must go.
Avatar f tn Two completely different compounds. Tylenol, or acetaminophen has been deemed safe during pregnancy, ibuprofen, or Advil has NOT. As for aspirin, that's correct, it's a blood thinner.
Avatar n tn Then in addition, anti inflammatory drugs can be taken like Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen but they should be taken under a medical supervision. Surgery is the last resort to go in for a hematoma. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn ve done so for a couple of days, please tell the lab technician or call before taking the ibuprofen/acetaminophen. Avatar f tn Yeah, my syepdad is a physician as well and doesn't understand why he wont switch me to a lower dose of acetaminophen either. If I were prescribed a higher dose of the hydrocodone, I'd just cut it down to the 5mg dose anyway. I cut my current 5/500s. I've talked to my doctor about switching to a lower dose of acetaminophen or something without it (I like the idea of the ibuprofen, as I do often experience different forms of inflammation) And each time, he has refused. Its odd to me.
Avatar m tn Your question cannot be answered correctly without more information or adding a lot if, ands or buts. Darvocet contains acetaminophen (tylenol). So much will depend on how much you consume of either drug and how often, how long and how your particular system handles the processing and elimination of either drug. Ibuprofen (IB) can cause more GI distress than acetaminophen. It is often more harsh on your stomach and can cause a GI bleed without warning.
Avatar f tn Tylenol is unveiling new maximum dosage instructions for paracetamol or acetaminophen in the US. The new instructions state a maximum total daily of 3,000 mg versus the old maximum of 4,000 mg. Additionally, it states to take the over the counter dosage every 6 hours instead of every 4 to 6 hours. These new instructions seem to be specific to their over the counter products not prescription medications.
Avatar n tn Neither of them is completely safe. From what I learned, if you have little or no liver damage, you can use either ibuprofen or acetaminophen. But if your liver damage is more advanced, acetaminophen is safer AS LONG AS YOU DON'T OVERDOSE IT OR MIX IT WITH ALCOHOL. Be careful that acetaminophen is in a lot of other medications and if you take those PLUS your own acetaminophen, you might be overdosing it.
Avatar m tn For patients with early cirrhosis (CPT class A or B), the use of acetaminophen is safe as long as the recommended dose is not exceeded (1,000 mg per dose, repeated no more often than every 6 hours). Patients with more advanced cirrhosis should take only ½ of the recommended dose. In fact, for patients with cirrhosis, acetaminophen, when used as described, is the preferred medication for the treatment of pain.

Business man2 Hydrocodone only comes with either acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Tramadol is another medication that I use with my patients that is of equal effectiveness but does come without the other medications. However, some patients will experience nausea with tramadol. Good luck!

Avatar n tn If you are in pain you are suppose to take Tylenol or acetaminophen. Ibuprofen is a blood thinner and can cause complications in some pregnant women. Drink some water and lay on your left side. Sounds like Braxton hicks.
1394601 tn?1328032308 You should not need oxycodone for the side affects of rebif. Acetaminophen or ibuprofen alone should quell any of the possibilities. Maybe you can split it somehow? If you injected at night after dinner take the ibuprof or tylenol and then keep your regularly scheduled day routine for pain? Just a thought. That's what I do. That way, if I do experience affects I can sleep through them. Being 7 months in your likely well adjusted by now.
1036532 tn?1335409367 I have always taken ibuprofen for my aches in the past. This year I was put on a mild anti-depressant, so I switched to acetaminophen. However, I've now been put onto hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) against the rheum arthritis. You're not supposed to take acetaminophen with it. Are there any other painkiller options? What am I supposed to do for headaches? Am I just out of luck?
