Avatar f tn I cracked. I had a 24 hr migraine and ive tried everything. I took tylenol this morning. I took Ibuprofen an hour ago . I coudnnt take it anymore. It was a one time thing and i feel so much better. Will my baby be okay?
1323278 tn?1298122488 annoying tension-type headache, other times a full on classic migraine, other times again migraine-aura type symptoms which I cannot figure out if they are migraine of MS. other times my ears feel really blocked during the headache, pressure etc. Also get a sore neck. All i take, due to my paranoia about drugs in general (thanks, adverse reactions of the past!) is Panadol, which is paracetamol, similar I think to your Tylenol? But I have to take it daily lately too.
2069693 tn?1331365365 As of now Ive had a migraine for 7 straight days! Its horrible!!! Ive taken Demerol, imitrex, tylenol/cod., Ibuprofen (with caffeine), tomamax...on and on. can someone please suggest, or give me some feed back !
Avatar n tn I will be 16 weeks on Sunday. I have had a migraine off and on since March. My doc gave me the ok to use caffine of it became unbearable. Tylenol doesn't work for migraines, and can't take ibuprofen which usually helps. Looking for other remedies, or tips. Taking tylenol two weeks straight isd scaring me. My doc referred me to a neurologist, but wanting to take s more natural approach to ensure baby isn't exposed to too much. Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know the best over the counter homonal migraine medicine? I cannot take immetrix I am allergic too it. I now will only take over the counter stuff. I am not sure wether ibuprofen is best or a combination of aspirin and tylenol together. What do you think?
Avatar f tn Triptans are currently the first-line of treatment for migraine headaches as opposed to NSAIDS such as ibuprofen, as ibuprofen can cause rebound migraine headaches. So I usually suggest that if possible, people avoid over-the-counter medications and stick with migraine medications such as triptans.
Avatar f tn Hey everyone, So this all started on Tuesday or Wed (April 7/8) with a dull headache that would come and go at random times. Coffee helped for a bit but it would always come back. I didnt think much of it because I'm used to headaches like this. Come around to that Sunday night (April 12), I was relaxing in bed when all of a sudden the headache turned severe out of basically nowhere, so much so that I was in tears while icing my head .
Avatar n tn Why can't I take toradol with ibuprofen? I've had a migraine for find days now, I've tried toradol, ibuprofen, Tylenol 1's, maxart, dexamethasone, and have been taking my oxyneos. In addition to my migraine I can't move anything above my hips, I'm going to have my husband drive me to the hospital at some point today. In the past I've tried morphine for my back and my head, it does nothing for the pain, just makes me sleep.
11970398 tn?1443134602 ive suffered from migraines for 10 yrs(im 21) the only thing that seems to help is ibuprofen but obviously i cant take it...any other suggestions?
1742269 tn?1315381633 Can anyone tell me what the difference is between Advil or Ibprofen compared to the Advil Migraine? From what ive seen, its basically the same thing, except the label says Migraine.
Avatar f tn What can I take to help relieve my migraine? I've had it since 5 am this morning, I've tried paracetamol but hasn't even touched the sides. Anyone know of anything stronger that's safe to take while pregnant? I'm 38+1.
Avatar n tn ve become pretty much manageable using ibuprofen or acetaminophen. However, after having sex or bringing myself to orgasm, I without fail wake up the next morning with a migraine headache that does not respond to either of these medications. It lasts for about a day. Is there any medication I can take or method I can apply before or after sex that can prevent or mitigate the headaches?
Avatar m tn And now since that i always get a heaviness/achiness in that arm, which makes me worry a bit and i just end up taking pain killers thinking im having a migraine. Im getting worried about these headaches and the amount of tablets im taking ibuprofen/paracetamol, I need advice?
Avatar f tn For a migraine she suggested either taking it with caffeine (this is what over the counter migraine meds are made of) or together with a benadryl.
Avatar f tn After visiting with the doctor yesterday due to a sinus infection I decided to confess to her about my headaches. :) Headaches that start behind my left eye, always the left. After several of these headaches, starting about 10 years ago, I finally found that Benedryl with a decongestant takes care of it. However, the longer I wait to take the Benedryl the longer it takes to get it under control. So then it radiates to the back of my head and into my shoulder.
Avatar m tn Amitriptyline and Inderal are used to prevent migraines, not to stop a migraine after it occurs. Talk to your doctor about antimigraine medications such as Imitrex, Maxalt, Zomig, etc., that are meant to acute migraine attacks. Until you see your doctor, you have over the counter options such as aspirin, Tylenol, ibuprofen, or Excedrin.
543518 tn?1245322027 This is what Dr. D. replied to a similar question on the expert forum "Tylenol, contrary to popular belief is OK to take if you have HCV, just no more than 4-6 per day. Ibuprofen is also good if your stomach is OK with it and you take it with food. Stronger stuff like opiates are also OK if necessary, but easy to become addicted to if you are not careful. DTD" BTW, codeine is an opiate... Codeine is usually prescribed together with either paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Avatar f tn I have always used products that contain codeine for my migraines such as paracetamol/codeine, ibuprofen/codeine, paracetamol/doxylamine/codeine etc. Do other people use these types of meds? Why do you use them? Is it because you find they work better than meds without codeine? Advertising on the pack/tv? Advice from health professional/friend? Thanks!
Avatar n tn My recommendation is to go see and eye doctor, I have had this bad migraine for going on four months staight. I have taken topamax and all other migraine meds and even pains meds it was so bad it has sent me to the ER at lease twice a month to get a shot and sent on my marry way knowing that it was no going to last long before the headaches returned. My doctor has given up on what to give me.
Avatar f tn t have a diagnosis. There are all sorts off different types of headaches like tension, migraine, and so on. sometimes caffiene will help me too but other times it wont no matter what I take.... I all depends on your body.
Avatar m tn ) I give history, she gasps... IBUPROFEN!!! in a migraine sufferer!!! I had no idea this was a no no. Any over the counter or prescription pain medication taken more than 3 times a week in a migraine sufferer can cause for the brain to kind of go hay wire, the nerve endings all over the body can over sensitize and you'll feel more than you should. I was having one giant migraine for over a year all because of Ibuprofen.
Avatar n tn hang in there. it is ok to take 400-600 mgs of ibuprofen and it does work...of course if you cant take ibuprofen, tylenol may help also... hang in there and take some advil lay down and just relax for a bit...it does help... if you ever have any questions about sub, just send me a message, ok? take care and good luck!
Avatar m tn How many OTC meds do you take? If you take a lot of ibuprofen, excedrin migraine, etc. you can have what they call medication overuse headaches. They can be worse than the headache that you started out with in the first place. If you only had episodic migraines in the past, overuse of these meds (as well as prescription pain ones) can transform your migraines into chronic ones. I was seeing a headache specialist in Pittsburgh who said that I could take ibuprofen 3X a week.
1323153 tn?1274637344 Hello, I have had migraines for about three years now, and lately they have been on the right side, a sharp pain, I have pain in the back of my neck, and my eyes feel like something is stabbing them. Do you have any suggestions as to what I should do or take when I have a severe migraine?
Avatar f tn t get in to the specialist until July 2011. I have a history of migraine w/ aura/visual. My current symptoms are left pain in cheek, ear, jaw, temple and neck. I have numbness, tingling and weakness in my left arm, and left leg and foot. Other sensory weirdness is several days of having my left foot feel frozen, then wet. A sharp burning pain in my right shoulder blade, and a similar pain in my left inner thigh. I have also had numbness in my genital area.
Avatar f tn I'm an ibuprofen girl, so I feel you on the Tylenol. And I would NOT recommend a ton of caffeine to help with migraines... Although a small amount (dark chocolate and such) could help.
Avatar f tn So I have been suffering from major headaches for about 4 days, and I'm allergic to acetametophen. Is it safe to take ibuprofen or will it hurt the baby?
