Ibuprofen high dose

Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen high dose

ibuprofen

Avatar m tn Yes it can cause kidney damage for people that already have loss of function or if taken for very long periods of time (weeks to months or in most cases years), on a continous basis, at a moderate to high dose. Addtionally having said that, ckd doesnt cause pain. so if this very brief useage had done anything, you wouldnt have pain from it. In fact, as it is an anti-inflamatory, it would stop that type of pain.
Avatar m tn The maximum dose is 3200mg a 24 hr period and you have trippled that. That is a dose that can be very harmful especially when you add alcohol to the mixture. I think you have liver poisoning from the 5600mg that you took along with the alcohol. You need to call your doctor immediately. Here is some stuff for you to consider. I am not a doctor but I can tell you that I am pretty certain that you did some damage to your liver.
Avatar f tn Has anyone heard of any reactions to ibuprofen while pregnant?
Avatar n tn What dose of Vit D are you taking?
Avatar f tn First, you are definitely at the max dose per day of acetaminophen which is 4,000 mg a day for healthy people but less for anyone with compromised livers. You are also at the max dose of ibuprofen. However, this has just been for two days. Two days of these medications should not alter your blood test results. They do generally say that there will be no affect if taken ONCE.
Avatar f tn I'm 15 5'3 and 95lbs. I took about 2900mg or ibuprofen in one dose? What is going to happen. It's not a suicide attempt I just want to sleep.
Avatar f tn I went to Boston children's hospital to look a little closer at baby because Im high risk and they found a small abnormality , one of the tubes that bypass babys lungs is a little narrow :-( they asked if I ever took ibuprofen and I have a few times , the doctors daid thays what its from so plz don't take it
Business man2 I try to have my patients take very little daily ibuprofen/naproxen as they can lead to kidney disease (based on total lifetime dose), high blood pressure (meloxicam) and stomach ulcers. Also, the anti-platelet effect of aspirin (which is how it prevents heart attacks) is reduced when taken with daily ibuprofen/naproxen. I hope this helps!
Avatar n tn The reason that they caution you about toradol with Ibuprofen is that toradol is exptremely hard on your kidneys, as is high dose ibuprofen.
1386405 tn?1291587800 ok I just read online that you are not suppose to take ibuprofen while you are pregnant again im 5 weeks i took total of seven not all together of course over say a period of maybe two days due to a severe toothache did i do something stupid is my baby going to be ok.
Avatar m tn I may be the first casualty of detox coming down from such a high dose. The trouble is...my doctor is willing to just write more prescriptions with no hope of ever quiting or dealing with the pain I have in a different way. Surgery is not an option anymore, and I am hoping that some miracle herb will come along, but I doubt that. I worry that even if I do detox, the pain will be debilitating, so that I will be unable to work.
Avatar n tn I am on a very high dose of OC. Has anyone ever had any luck trying eo wean down from 8 to 16 OC 80's a day? I know it is a huge dose and I would like to wean down some to try to lower my tolerance. I know that I will always be on pain meds but I can not keep increasing the dose, so I thought if I tried to take as vacation , so to speak, maybe I could lower my tolerance. Has anyone else ever taken this high of a dose daily?
Avatar m tn I have been having chest pains that worsens when moving and touching the the affected area. Was diagnosed with inflammation of some parts of joints of ribs. Was told to take ibuprofen. The pain gets better but returns. R there other meds???
1429136 tn?1287209602 I don't know much about suboxone but I think you should call the doctor who prescribed it and I'm sure he'll be able to tell you what's best to take for pain control. I would imagine a high dose of ibuprofen would help a lot (800 mg.) alternating with Tylenol. But check with your doctor about the dosages. I've had extractions and serious root canals in the past and never needed narcotics. I always just did lots of ice packs and the ibuprofen/tylenol combination.
Avatar n tn Your dose is not very high but everyone's body is unique and reacts differently to toxins. I would be concerned with kidney function in addition to liver function and, yes, kidney damage can be permanent. Chances are you're just fine but for your peace of mind get an appt with your doctor and ask to have lab work to measure your kidney and liver function. Usually, staying well hydrated and eating properly will keep your organs in good condition. Good luck!
Avatar n tn s actually ibuprofen in Neurofen but the above cautions are justified. A dose of 16 x 200mg ibuprofen in a day is more than twice the safe dose for ibuprofen. A recent study found that people who regularly take high doses of ibuprofen had 3 times the risk of gastric bleeding so yes there is a very real risk for you. You are also risking potentially irreversible kidney damage with this sort of dosing, so here's another incentive to get some help.
1323278 tn?1298122488 Acetaminophen far below the toxic dose taken on a daily basis can lead to liver damage. While ibuprofen can upset the stomach, there is a second drug, Cytotec (Misoprostol) that can protect your stomache while taking NSAIDs There are also enteric coated NSAIDs that do not dissolve in the stomach but dissolve in the intestines. We should always let our doctors know all of the medication, including over the counter, herbal supplements, vitamins and other substances (Medical Marijuana?
Avatar n tn The label on my bottle says to not take the tenofovir with ibuprofen. However, I previously asked my doctor if ibuprofen (among many other question I had) would be okay to take alongside it occasionally --- and he said it was no problem. Hmmm. What to believe? The label or the doctor? o_O Any personal experience with the interaction of these two medications?
Avatar m tn Headaches are not a symptom of hepatitis C. What pain relievers a person can take safely for people infected with hepatitis C depends upon what stage of liver disease the patient has. Many pain relievers are dangerous for persons with stage 4 liver disease (cirrhosis). NSAIDs can cause internal bleeding and kidney failure in people with cirrhosis. It doesn't appear that the cause of your husband's headaches have been diagnosed properly.
Avatar n tn Last Saturday I received protected oral sex from a high-risk prostitute (the kind who might be sleeping with 1000+ persons a year). The prostitute also licked and bit my nipples. On Sunday another high-risk prostitute masturbated me (without condom) and kissed me on the lips (mouth not open). Since yesterday I am running high fever 103-104f which does not come down without cold sponging, and is not responding to paracetamol/ibuprofen.
460830 tn?1347219306 But I do take fish oil and flaxseed oil caps every day. I had not taken aspirin nor ibuprofen since posting this, but a few days ago I took a single dose of aspirin, for the first time since then. But I noticed yesterday I had the SAME bleeding, in the SAME PLACE! I wonder what's going on? Also, to ireneo: I also take Vitamin C every day... Anyeway, thanks to you all for your replies.
