Hi: Thanks so much for your advice. I don't know exactly which cream he is using, but at this point I suggested that he sees a dermatologist. I believe his penile rash is hives, which is one of the listed, although uncommon, allergic side effects to the Metro Gel. It's been 6 days and no Improvement. I hope he goes to seek more medical advice, I can't imagine the kind of pain and discomfort I've subjected him to. Oddly enough the Metro Gel worked on me with no side effects...

Like... they said at 10mg there are very few side-effects and at 20mg there are noticeable side-effects. But, you obviously don't want to change the dose on your own, as this can be extremely dangerous! But, it would be worth talking to your doctor about if the side-effects don't go away fast enough. Although... most of the time... with SSRIs in general I find, it can take 2 to 4 weeks for side-effects to go away and then they're gone for good.

The treatment that you have been prescribed is correct. If you are having any side effects then get the antibiotics changed and even oral antibiotics can be added. sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.

I have been taking 2-4 ibprogen 200 mg. tablets for 4 months on a daily basis. Does this still fit into the manufacturer's guidelines for this product. I'm concerned about long term side effects.

Hello, Fatigue and dry mouth and dyspepsia are frequent side effects of Vesicare but it is unlikely to cause any sore throat. Your sore throat can be due to some viral infection. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day and use over-the-counter throat lozenges. Salt water gargle is also a good way to relieve a sore throat. In addition, you can take anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and paracetamol (acetaminophen) after consulting your general physician.

Can Kidney pain be a side effect of taking Ibuprofen? I was taking ibuprofen last week consecutively for 3 days (400mg t.i.d) after laser eye surgery. A day or so after starting it I experienced mild pain/discomfort in my left flank that came in waves. When I stopped taking the ibuprofen the flank pain also stopped. The next day I took one more dose - the flank pain started again within an hour, but was gone the next day.

Just a quick question about the effects of Ibuprofen on the heart. Sometimes when I feel I'm having a bad "heart" day, either really strong beats followed by weak ones, or my PVC's/PAC's, I will take an advil and I usually start feeling better. I mentioned this to my PCP once and he said Ibuprofen has many effects on the body, it's not just a fever reducer/pain reliever so it very well could be effecting the heart.

Whatever gets you through the day, but don't overdue NSAIDS. They all have side effects, and you will absorb some of it into your body. But for occasional use, it's not going to be a problem.

You can try a pain relieving gel and heat regularly. Ibuprofen gel and a hot water bottle are my friends! Also try not to chew too much, have a mainly soft diet for a few days.

I am sorry you suffered the side effects. I was on Avonex for 15 years and found that if I started ibuprofen around 4:00 in the afternoon and took it every 4 hours or so, and took the shot around 8 pm on a Friday night, I felt okay by Saturday afternoon. I also put ibuprofen next to my bed in case the side effects woke me up during the night. I wish you all the best. Just remember HANG IN it will get easier.

Until last summer my symptoms were somewhat under control, I was taking anti-depressants and I believe that may have lessen the hyper/hypo effects. I am sure it did at this point. Since stopping Prozac I know the horrible side effects that was causing.Now I am feeling the effects of the Levothyroxine and hyperthyroidism. I may also add that I do not have my large intestine, as it was removed due to ulcerlative colitis in 1991, so I may not absorb medications as most people do.

I wrote some posts back in January when they tried me on a new narcotic called Nucynta. I had extreme side effects (to the point I really thought there was something seriously wrong going on) but it did help with the pain. The pain management NP thinks that maybe somehow the sympathetic nerve got reset when I had all the side effects. But it's been wonderful to have at least relief of the nerve pain.
