I have a shoulder problem and used to be on strong pain killers, but my doctor told me to change to heat rubs!
Advil is a no no! My doc gave me a big binder w/lots of info in it, it doesn't say anything about Motrin, so I'd assume it isnt safe. They specifically state no Advil, aleve or aspirin..

I was prescribed Toradol short term, then Ibuprofen 800MG as needed. I did not supplement my Ibuprofen ingestion with an acid reducer (Pepcid, Nexium) and after 4 months developed one peptic, esophageal ulcer and several erosions (ulcer precursors) in my upper GI. My GI doctor prescribed Nexium twice a day and is confident the GERD is NSAID induced and that my lesions will be healed in 12 weeks.
I have swelling on the left side of my jaw and face. My jaw hurts underneath almost like a swollen gland. I also have canker sores inside my left side of mouth which I think is from biting the inside of my mouth while I sleep. What can I do for the pain. Is this TMJ or just stress?

Hi, I ended up inserting some of an alcohol-based gel into my urethra 3 days ago. I have been using Azo for the pain, which is helping some, but I am surprised at how little the symptoms are abating. whenever i carry any small weight like 2 or 3 kg i feel pressure and pain in sternum..Only ibuprofen gel (muscuskeleton pain relief) give me temporary relief.Sleeping at straight position also give relief from pain but i feel pain if i turn on sides.I cant wear tight cloth at the end of sternum.it increases pain.
I have a lot of back / spine issues. I take some pretty heavy medication, but as far as OTC meds go, I find Liquid Gel Advil helps me the most. A couple of things to keep in mind: Ibuprofen can damage your kidneys and acetaminophen (Tylenol) can damage your liver. Prescription meds like hydrocodone have acetaminophen in them. Good luck.
Sorry about your injury. Using ibuprofen gel or topical NSaids does not necessarily have to be covered. You can ask your doctor about that or the pharmacist where you frequent. A few points, remember to not mix with other nsaids, avoid touching your eyes, mouth or open wound, WASH YOUR HANDS after application, use only the amount the doctor has prescribed for you, don't shower or swim or wash the area for at least an hour after putting it on, and try to keep the area cool.
So, is there any coverage for you insurance wise to see a physical therapist? they can show you stretches and exercises to do to help strengthen the knee. And Ibuprofen is good for reducing swelling/immflamation and pain. My pt has told me to take 4 200 mg tabs of ibuprofen. I was reluctant but they felt it would help. Another thing I use is arnica cream bought at the drug store. It's holistic and hey, why not? It always seems to help. I like the icy hot type patches too.
Ibuprofen and such tends to give me stomach pain and I've been On ibuprofen for years. Heat helps but just for the 30 sex or so the heat is applied. Other than that nothing.

That is something you can discuss with you doctor after his vacation. In the meantime, try adding an NSAID such as Motrin (ibuprofen) or Aleve (naproxen) to your regiment as long as you are not allergic and have no contraindications. Get some aloe vera gel for the burn/blisters (pure aloe is best.) Also Tylenol or ibuprofen will help the pain a bit. Drink plenty of fluids. Orange juice is a good choice. I had a very bad burn once that caused me to be in the ER. They gave me IV fluids and told me about the ibuprofen and fluids. They specifically mentioned orange juice ... maybe for the potassium.
Also, I'm sure you're already aware, but tanning isn't a good thing to do.
I dont feel constant pain.This sudden pain at chest or sternum and back come and go.only ibuprofen gel massage help me in pain . Sleeping in straight position or sitting in straight position with cushion behind middle of back also give relief in pain. My pain is completely gone after sleeping straight or massage painkiller cream but this pain again come .Please tell me what is my issue? my ecg and chest xrays is fine.
