Can Kidney pain be a side effect of taking Ibuprofen? I was taking ibuprofen last week consecutively for 3 days (400mg t.i.d) after laser eye surgery. A day or so after starting it I experienced mild pain/discomfort in my left flank that came in waves. When I stopped taking the ibuprofen the flank pain also stopped. The next day I took one more dose - the flank pain started again within an hour, but was gone the next day.
Hello, Antibiotics that you have started should help you out with ear infections. In addition, Paracetamol or ibuprofen (appropriate for the age) can be used to relieve pain and high temperature. Topical agents shown to be effective include antipyrine and benzocaine ear drops but these should be used only under medical supervision. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
It was on the sides of my back, however, it was more midway-back pain, rather than really low back pain so I am unsure if it was even related. A few days ago, I went to the doctor. After a urine test, they said I had a UTI. I am not sure as to which type of bacteria caused it because it was an urgent clinic and it was not cultured. I was given 6 pills (2 a day for 3 days) of Cipro. I have taken all of the pills and I still do not feel better.
For the pain, you can provide support to the scrotum by wearing an athletic supporter, apply ice to the scrotum, take warm baths if there are signs of inflammation, while lying down, place a rolled towel under your scrotum or try over-the-counter pain relievers, like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. It is true that uncontrolled diabetes effects fertility. But I suggest you to have diet control and indulge in plenty of exercise which are helpful in early diabetes.

They were not very severe although I did need to take some ibuprofen to get to sleep. The next day most of this pain has gone and has not really come back since, I could only feel slight pain in genital/pelvic area. I went to the doctor's this day and they took a urine sample, thinking that I had possibly developed a urinary infection. No infection was found but I was still given a 3 day course of antibiotics because of the lower abdominal pain and slight pressure on the left side.
The first week I had the frequent urge I thought it was the beginning of a UTI, so I took the Azo pills for 2 days and it was better for 2 days after I stopped taking the pills but it came back. I can go the the bathroom everytime I feel the urge and it just be a few drips. If I hold it, I feel the need to do the peepee dance after 20 minutes. If I hold it longer than about 45 minutes I won't have the urge until an extra hour later.
I too have had them since I was a child, and now have Interstitial Cystitis, which often makes me feel like I have a UTI, yet don't. I have had Rx for Peridium and other bladder pain meds for ever, and recently had the misfortune of developing nausea everytime I take one. There are several drugs I used to be able to take that now make me so sick I throw up. SOOOO - I have no relief. (The orange pee was wonderful compared to the symptoms!
Hi, You can take anti inflammatory medicine like Ibuprofen for the pain. However if the pain persists then get other causes ruled out. Cause of pelvic pain could be due to kidney stones, pelvic infections, urine infections, twisted ovarian cyst or rupture of ovarian cyst, appendicitis or any other referred pain due to other organ infections. Most of them may not show up on ultrasound. So get all these causes evaluated from a gynecologist to confirm the diagnosis.
You can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the lump persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a gynecologist as you may need incision and drainage. Also then herpes sores should be ruled out. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Last year in June I got a possible UTI, after sexual contact, with symptoms like testicle pain and feeling very fatigued. All STD,UTI-tests were negative but I had a CRP of 84 and there was a visible infection in the urine. Doctors therefore subscribed me Doxycycline for 1 week which made the symptoms go away but they came back worse directly after the treatment was over. After that I got a 10 day treatment of Ciprofloxacin and the symptoms went away and everything was fine. After 1.
Abstain from intercourse for a few days, take plenty of fluids and take some OTC analgesics like ibuprofen or diclofenac. Also take pyridium for 2-3 days (it stains the urine orange) after consulting your doctor and sit in warm non soapy water. Also consult a doctor for antibiotics prescription if the symptoms persist. In future also, urinate immediately after intercourse to flush out the bacteria and ask your partner to indulge in plenty of foreplay or use lubricant jellies. I hope it helps.

I developed a very abrupt and severe UTI this afternoon. I have a history of 1-2 of these per year so my PCP has a standing order for Cipro for me. As soon as I was sure I was getting one (which usually takes most of a day to become sure, but in this case took about 1 hour) I took my first Cipro at 4pm. Usually if I catch them early the Cipro starts working pretty fast, but not this time. By 7pm I was in severe pain and starting a fever. It was 99.9 with chills when I first measured it.
This started after Christmas when I began to have joint pain and UTI symptoms. I was told I might be suffering from reactive arthritis and put on antibiotics for three days. Yet the pain persisted. I also found out my urine was normal. I have seen a doctor, had routine blood work done and it showed nothing. I was told to relax and take OTC painkillers. Sadly Ibuprofen does little to relieve my pain so I stopped taking it.
) You could also ask and request an ultrasound be done to find out if there is anything going on? As for pain, try taking ibuprofen and use a heat pack, sometimes that would dull the ache or at least the sharp pains for me.
On our MOARK IC website, I recently worked with my compounding pharmacy and we developed a gel that is a great lubricant and uses Silverbiotics a soothing antibacterial gel, NO PRESERVATIVES, along with MSM for inflammation and lidocaine for pain. Under treatment options there is a letter for doctor's on the vaginal suppositories etc that has the info and dosages as well. This might be a good place to start. I will try to post once I finish the article as well!
org/forums/show/195 You can buy otc urinary pain relief tablets in most drugstores to help with the uti pain. They turn your urine bright orange too which gives you something to talk about each time you go to the bathroom ;) Did they do a urine test that said uti or just say you had one based on symptoms? If we assume that both you and your hubby have genital herpes now - there's really no need for him to go on suppressive therapy ( kinda putting the cart before the horse as they say ).
30 again in pain, but just saw the dentist yesterday. At times it hurts on top and then sometimes it throbs on the bottom. The bones in my face are feeling the pain at times. This isn't just casual pain, but one that reduces me to muttering not so gentile words and popping handfuls of NAISDs, to say nothing of bringing me to tears. Fortunately the longest this has lasted is about 20 minutes of pain.
Also, she may become sensitive to some medications such as ibuprofen or antibiotics which can cause major flare-ups of pain for IC patients. If she is diagnosed, it is something she will likely need to educate her doctors on, as many don't realize some of the restrictions IC can cause for a patient. Within 2 years, my mom had a second cystoscopy which showed great improvement in her bladder, and since then has had very few problems with IC.
Next 2 days she ran to the bathroom several times but never actually vomitted. By Saturday pain in belly was so bad I took her to ER. They said she had a UTI and a little constipation. Started antibiotics. Monday took her to follow up with pediatrician, he re-ran urinalysis and it was clear. Put her on miralax too. Still in major pain. Pain started in legs as well and was getting headaches and dizziness. In her words pain is "like a ton of bricks with knives on the end.
I have had pelvic pain for about the past year that occurs the same time each month. It starts exactly 7 days from the beginning of my period and last 10-12 days. The pain starts on the lower right side and spreads through the mid pelvic area. There is a lot of bloating and the pain intensifies each month as well as each day during the month. I saw my gyn yesterday and he is puzzled. He believes it is associated with my right ovary, but not with ovulation.
Take some warm sitzbaths(don’t add anything to the water) and anti inflammatory pain killers like Diclofenac or Ibuprofen if there is any pain. If the symptoms persist then please consult a urologist as antibiotics may be needed. Also investigations to rule out gonococcal urethritis may be needed. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
I have been having headaches for a month, lower back and abdominal pain for two weeks. Along with these I have a nausea feeling. the lower back pains are unbearable. I don't have uti cause I know what that is and I am wondering what could it be. I took a 800 mg ibuprofen and it took the pain a little but not completely. To explain the pain better it feels like I am going into labor but I'm not pregnant. Does anyone know what it could be?
I, of course, go to check out for STDs. I was given a Zpack, and a shot (im unsure of what) as a treatment for the symptoms on the spot (chylmidia, ghonorhea, etc). Results came back negative. After the initial antibiotics, the discharge went away, but the ache was still there. I went back in to ask if the tests would be wrong, they told me no, and gave me another zpack and metronidazole 1 time dosage (sp?). It did not take away the symptoms.
