Avatar m tn Good day! I have been experiencing tennis elbow (tendonitis) in my right elbow for the last 6 months. It's due to weight training and heavy lifting. I've cut back on the weight but still have soreness (though not as bad.) I've tried ice a few times each day, a brace when I exercise and Advil yet I still have it. My health insurance plan at work ***** and I don't want to go see a doctor as I don't have the money. Any suggestions? Thanx!!!
Avatar n tn Surgery usually isn't a treatment for either tennis elbow or bursitis as it usually gets better before that's on the table as an option. Normally they watch you flex your arm to see where it hurts to diagnose it. If unsure, they may ask for imaging to be done such as x ray or MRI. They do sometimes touch the area but sometime they just ask you to manipulate it/move it so they can see that way. Normally surgery happens only if it hasn't gotten better in 6 months to 12 months.
Avatar n tn It could be tennis elbow or a problem with your tendons that run from your elbow to your hand. I know I had this before and went to see a hand specialist (don't remember what type of doctor he actually was). But he diagnosed me with tennis elbow. My pain started in my elbow but ran down my arm to my fingers too. It got worse and worse. He said the reason I was numb at night and tingling is because the nerve was getting compressed when I was sleeping.
Avatar f tn My dad recently suffered with this type of pain and it turned out to be what they call (tennis elbow) ! Strange i know. You can get supports for the elbows which do help. It should ease in a few weeks, but if it doesn't I would make an appointment with your GP.
Avatar n tn I have suffered with tennis elbow for a number of years. 10 days ago I had my 3rd cortisone injection which so far has had little effect. How long should I wait before seek further medical assistance? The pain, if anything, seems to be getting worse. I can't straightened my arm now.
Avatar n tn I live in the Washington, D.C. area and would like to try platelet injections as a treatment for tennis elbow. Georgetown just finished clinical trials but I can't find a doctor who will administer this as a treatment. Is it still experimental? How can I find a physician who uses this procedure?
Avatar m tn Tennis elbow is a tendinitis in the elbow area. Tennis is just one thing that can cause it. Rest is required. I think a physical therapist can help.
Avatar f tn I've been suffering from Tennis Elbow for over 2 years and would really like to avoid surgery. Any suggestions based on your experience would be highly appreciated.
767538 tn?1276575320 Anyone have experience with this? I have developed this in my left elbow within the last year and it is quite debilitating when it flares up. Luckily it's not my prominent arm but I've had three steroid injections in it and my Dr has said no more. They give me full relief but only last for a couple of months.
Avatar n tn Hi there, had this problem for three weeks now,a friend said it was Tennis elbow and will go away in a few days! its still with me and no sign of going away, it flares up at times, and effect my sleep. I would be very grateful for any help or advice.
Avatar m tn Please correlate to the symptoms of tennis elbow. These are Pain over the outside of the elbow, Pain when lifting objects or Pain radiating down the forearm. MRI may show a tear. Apply ice or cold therapy to the elbow (15 mins up to six times a day). This will help reduce pain and inflammation if present. Rest is an extremely important component in the healing of this injury. Wear a brace or support to protect the tendon whilst healing and strengthening.
Avatar n tn thought it may be related to tennis elbow, but learn later that the condition is not tennis elbow related. Condition has existed for a couple of weeks now. Want to know the medical term for this condition and is there a cure?
Avatar f tn s anything like that. I had the same symptoms years ago and was diagnosed with tennis elbow, which is caused by overuse, not necessarily from playing tennis :) . It could also be a pinched nerve in your neck, causing pain to be referred down your arm. And as Tuck said, it could just be a strain. I would try ibuprofen and resting the arm when possible. If it's nog better in a week or so, see a do tot if it's really bothering you. Good luck on your finals!
Avatar n tn I first had pain in my elbow(throbbing pain) for about a week. i still have the pain in my elbow but now I also have numbing on my index and middle fingers at the tips and it does not go away.
17484539 tn?1580565249 So it turns out I had a small radial neck elbow fracture AND lateral epicondylitis.(the fancy term for tennis elbow). I have been wearing a lightweight brace for 6 weeks hoping the symptoms will subside.but I am totally baffled as to the diagnosis. If this is from a fracture, why did it take weeks to become so debilitating? Just about 50% of everything hurts - i.
Avatar n tn Could just be what they call tennis elbow - which can affect anyone that is overusing the elbow joint - but he should stop by the emergency room and have it checked out if it popped up that fast.
Avatar f tn thank you, You told me just what I'd just learned from med-help. now, I know its more than tennis elbow. I gave up for while because I'm disabled. (previous neck discsectomey, about 15 years ago. It started up again, And my doc says that I've pulled a muscle. I'm well verse in my otho. problems but can't get help, I'm going get another doc. this wants me to locate a specialist and then give the info to his nurse, so his can give me a referral.
Avatar m tn Why left side only? Anybody have a cure for tennis elbow if that is truly what I have now? Ice...heat or both? Please help.
Avatar n tn It started with what was dianosed as "tennis elbow" cortisone (2 times) did not help, now it has progressed to my shoulder (the elbow is still bad), again cortisone did not help, I can not do much with the arm so injury is unlikely. Night is the worst as the pain spreads to the muscle between the shoulder and elbow and wakes me after a few hours sleep.
