ibuprofen

Avatar f tn I always like to try holistic remedies before I head for the medicine cabinet. Try laying down in a dark room with a cool, damp rag on your forehead and neck. If its not enough, try adding an icepack on top. Its the only thing that helped my pounding headaches.
Avatar n tn .....as my GP seemed to think it was all 3!!!!! About 18 months ago I had what I can only describe as a severe pain (pressure) at the top of my abdomen and radiating round to the back. I took a couple of ibuprofen and went to bed. I remember being unable to get comfortable and writhing about - my stomach was also distented. I felt I needed to remove my bra and have a wee - anything to relieve the pressure. The next morning it had gone.
Avatar f tn I used ibuprofen pretty often each day for about two weeks for severe pain in my hand and finger joints. I began to have chronic nausea, got off the ibuprofen, started taking Prevacid and Pepcid Complete, then Reglan per doctor's prescription. Bad side effects from Reglan--irritability, dizziness, depression, sleepiness. Got off of it. After about 4 weeks, I still have some nausea and only want to eat starches and sugars. Had gallbladder removed 6 months ago.
1384542 tn?1279465080 e where they told me i have some sort of cheast pain and just to take ibuprofen. they kept asking me whether or not i had pain in my neck, i didnt have at the time and told them so all the way on the drive home i had neck pain and called them back to ask them if i should worry and as i knew he said no and told me just to take ibuprofen again. they only ran a water test and checked my heart and said that those tests came back fine so i dont know were the doctor had got his diagnosis.
1838120 tn?1322935125 Then about a month ago, I was at work and had a very sharp pain in the same area. It lasted for maybe 30-40 minutes. I had pain in my right shoulder at the same time. Since then I've had it twice and I feel like I can hardly do anything else once it hits. I take a few ibuprofen, maybe eat a little snack, drink some water and it seems to go away. My bowl movements have been horrible. I can't seem to digest any greens, and otherwise they're kind of mustard colored and loose.
Avatar m tn Episodic sharp right upper quadrant pain is usually related to gallbladder problems (gallstones or biliary colic). Have you noticed if these episodes happen to occur within a certain amount of time after eating? Gallbladder pain usually occurs within an hour after eating a fatty meal. Pain can also radiate to the right scapula.
Avatar m tn Can Kidney pain be a side effect of taking Ibuprofen? I was taking ibuprofen last week consecutively for 3 days (400mg t.i.d) after laser eye surgery. A day or so after starting it I experienced mild pain/discomfort in my left flank that came in waves. When I stopped taking the ibuprofen the flank pain also stopped. The next day I took one more dose - the flank pain started again within an hour, but was gone the next day.
3122657 tn?1357432602 Ibuprofen is bad for our livers. Try getting a massage if you can. Bromelian, a natural supplement made from pineapples helps reduce swelling but it takes time to work. Also, make sure you're drinking lots of water, and getting some exercise. Try some yoga too. Pot brownies worked the best for my back pain.

Avatar n tn What is the cause of your liver pain? Are you sure the pain is your liver, or could it be gallbladder? Do you have Hepatitis C? Have you seen a physician about your pain? If you would give us a little information about yourself and your condition, someone here might have some information to share with you. However, there are no doctors here, we are just people who have or have had Hepatitis C and / or family members of people with Hep C. There are lots of knowledgeable people here.
Avatar f tn oxycodone, morphine, and hydromorphone, so if your doc is not giving you that, you can ask him to please change your pain killers. Whilst taking pain medicines, eat plenty of fiber foods, low fat, and drink lots of water, go for walks. Now, there are a million other things that could be wrong, I've just pulled what I think your pain locations indicate.
Avatar n tn Tylenol is the only safe pain medicine u can take while pregnant...I'm not totally for sure what would happen with the ibuprofin, but I wouldn't chance it!! That seems like a lot to take at one time!!?? I was given 800 mg to take after my c-sections!! You must really be suffering with some serious pain hun..talk with ur doc on what is safe for you to take!!
Avatar m tn Just keep track of your symptoms. Since your pain has only been for the past two weeks, and nothing seems emergent, the doctors will send you home. They don't typically run tests unless it's been an ongoing problem or if the problem seems like it needs to be dealt with immediately. You could try food elimination to see if you get any relief. In the meantime, if symptoms get worse or intolerable, make another appt. with your doctor.
Avatar f tn I have been given Lyrica for muscle spasms, Flexiril for muscle spasms, meds for IBS and I too take Ibuprofen like candy. The Nuerologist gave me Cymbalta. I am realizing that my body is reacting to any kind of stress or upset through my rectum. I get spasms if I move my bowels or not but like clockwork every time I do. Why? Perhaps because I am stressed over the fact that I am going to be in pain and I am thinking about the severity of the pain that will surely come and it does.
Avatar f tn In January of this year I had this very bad attack in which I could barely stand up because of being in pain. Abdominal pain that shot up my back. Nausea, diarrhea, and vomitting bile..Went to the ER and all they did was an X-ray, IV and fluids... Same thing happened a couple weeks after that. This time something else popped up in a ct scan. I've had about 6 attacks since January now. (My most recent being 2 weeks ago....
Avatar f tn Gallbladder issues will cause stomach pain, but significant symptoms include vomiting that looks like coffee grounds as well as black, tarry stools. The burning sensation could also indicate an ulcer. If that is the case, antiinflammatories are not the answer. In any case, always be sure to eat something when taking Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen. It will cause erosion of the lining of the stomach of taken on an empty stomach.
Avatar n tn I have had chronic pain in my right back just below the scapula for 6 months. I have been a heavy beer drinker since college on and off. My doc says I pulled a muscle and to take ibuprophin. The pain never went away. I then, being optomistic, when to a chiroprator and had some back adjustments. It didn't help. Now, every now and then it hurts just below my right ribs and the pain in my back has increased in area towards my right armpit.
Avatar m tn whenever i take even one 550mg (naproxen) ibuprofen and then drink, my stomach gets tender and bloated and i feel bad. i usually take a maalox or something like that, yet i never throw up from it so i don't know if that's applicable for you. i think it is due to the ibuprofen, but if you're not used to eating spicy foods then it could have disagreed with you, not necessarily meaning food poisoning. you should never drink and take NSAIDs at the same time.
7923170 tn?1412999504 21 years old. Pregnant with second baby currently 11 weeks. Im currently taking Lovenox shots n my prenatal the passed 2 weeks have had headaches... Is it OK to take ibuprofen if I don't have tylenol available at the time.

Avatar f tn Typically, with costochondritis, it can be pinpointed by probing with the fingers. The treatment a doctor has prescribed to me before for costochondritis is 600 mg ibuprofen cyclically for 3-4 days. Moist heat and rest of the area as much as possible is also helpful. Hope you can hang in there with this painful problem!
Avatar m tn I have always had on and off stomach problems which I suspected were brought on by use of NSAIDs for endometriosis. Over three years ago, I started having pain in URQ which wrapped around to back. I was getting referred pain in my quadratus laborum and after massaging the area, I experienced extreme rebound tenderness.
