Avatar n tn Ibuprofen is a bloodthinner. They say you arent supposed to take it...only tylenol. Because when you are pregnant the volume of blood in your body increases by 50%. If you were to have an accident, go into preterm labor, etc...you could bleed out and hemmorage. Causing lots of problems!
267288 tn?1256278177 Does anyone know what the equivalent dosage of Armour is to 1.25 mg and 1.0 mg levothyroxine respectively? Also, if anyone knows the equivalent Armour to 1.0 mg levothyroxine/ .25 mg Cytomel... Thank you very much in advance....
1148241 tn?1294052796 Thanks for answering Carolan. Actually I really hadn't thought it was a problem to take Ibuprofen in the morning and then Naproxen in the evening (which says NSAID) on the bottle (over the counter). Hmmm I 'm glad you mentioned that. I'm going to look that up but I'll stick to only one kind a day.
Avatar f tn Its rare but possible for a child to have bipolar disorder. If he is diagnosed with Asperger's that is a developmental disability and although those can have behavioral problems that can be severe they don't generally respond to medication like psychiatric disabilities such as bipolar or ADHD but both diagnoses can occur together. They need to provide specific diagnoses as for follow up and treatment and you should discuss this further with them.
Avatar f tn Tylenol is unveiling new maximum dosage instructions for paracetamol or acetaminophen in the US. The new instructions state a maximum total daily of 3,000 mg versus the old maximum of 4,000 mg. Additionally, it states to take the over the counter dosage every 6 hours instead of every 4 to 6 hours. These new instructions seem to be specific to their over the counter products not prescription medications.
Avatar f tn 1) Dosage of medications per day, as this helps the P. (and myself) to evaluate the effect on a certain amount, raise or lowering of dosage of each medication. Would it be possible to add Amitriptiline as AD? 2) A way to link the Sleep Tracker with my Mood Tracker, as sleep seems to have a lot of incidence on bipolar, it's regularity and amount ... leading to hypomania for instance.
Avatar m tn My pain is not a pain for tylenol or ibuprofen. I need something stronger for this kind of pain. I need analgesic and antiflamattories.
Avatar m tn So far in my experience, Deramax has been the best non-steroidal anti-inflammatory for pain in dogs - particularly for arthritis pain. Rimadyl is a close second and fairly cheap since it's been on the market for years. What kind of pain is your dog experiencing?
Avatar f tn Thanks for your answer! I am doing that while waiting for app. If I skip Ibuprofen start bleeding again. Taking Magnesium too.
Avatar n tn I just came from my dentist and he suggested I take 3 ibuprofen 4 times a day for 3 days to see if it would calm the nerve of a tooth. If it does not, then he suggests a root canal. My main concern is I'm afraid of the stomach problems this might cause. Do I have need to worry? I also take omeprazole to calm my stomach, so am I defeating the purpose? Thank you for your time.
403156 tn?1290150018 For the mood chart, it would be nice to have the option to add medications ourselves. There are so many different meds out there, the list provided doesn't cover them all, and it would be hard to keep up with them. The option should be to enter the name of the med ourselves. The tracker is great, but more med options is needed. Is this function already there and I am not seeing it?
Avatar f tn Here is the best one...in my opinion. Like I said, it was right on...but they do say that it's not a full proof method. I'm sure there have been cases where they were wrong. www.webwomb.com/chinesechart.
1654058 tn?1407159066 Karen, Your platelets are already low, and NSAIDs can increase the risk for bleeding; imho, acetaminophen over the ibuprofen, hands down. With low platelets from tx and a compromised liver and kidney system, any of the NSAIDs are contra-indicated for you (includes Motrin, Advil, Aleve). Tylenol is not to be taken indiscriminately either, though. With cirrhosis, no more than 2000 mg per day max (that means no more than 4 Extra Strength Tylenol in any 24 hour period).
Avatar n tn If you look at the label on cough syrup for children, even those typically recommend for age 6 and up (at least the brands I have seen.) When my 2 1/2 year old has a cold with a cough I give him milk slightly warmed with honey in it. I have also given him a teaspoon of honey on it's own. It works extremely well.
Avatar f tn Sweetie, there is nothing that you can take that is "a night time formula" that would have that much Ibuprofen in a dose. You shouldn't exceed the recommended dosage and if you took something that said it was a night time formula then you probably took something with diphenydramine in it. What are the active ingredients on the bottle? What strength per dose? 2900mg of Ibuprofen plus anything for sleep in not good. You need to tell someone what you took before you go to sleep.
Avatar f tn Ask your pediatrician to refer your child to a ophthalmologist for a complete exam which will include retesting vision, checking for eye muscle problems, eye disease, amblyopia and glasses testing. If you have other children have them checked also as eye problems often run in families.
Avatar f tn Tylenol for sure. If you use anything ibuprofen related ASK your o.b. first and go by their orders. It can be harmful if in long term use.
Avatar f tn Okay, I KNOW that I remember being told by the liver doctor who performed my biopsy that if I do need to take a pain reliever that I should take Tylenol. My OB/GYN doctor just told me to take Advil for cramps because it isn't metabolized in the liver. I rarely take anything, but if I do, which is less risky? Liver biopsy one year ago found no significant tissue scarring. My recent ALT enzyme levels are slightly lower than before, 61. My other enzyme levels are normal.
1137363 tn?1260714411 s no way to enter that into this chart) and (2) the ability to add the dosage, rather than just indicating that there's been a change in treatment. I suppose the second aspect could be kept in the journal, but with no way to enter the levothyroxin in the chart, it looks like I haven't been on meds for 5 years.
Avatar m tn 5mg 5 hours after I have given her a dose of 3ml ibuprofen (100mg/5ml)? When her tympanic temp is 40.
640719 tn?1277140030 The "conversion chart" says that 100 mcg levo is roughly equivalent to 65 mg desiccated, so 32.5 mg would be roughly equivalent to 50 mcg. However, bear in mind that the two are not really equivalent since T3 and T4 are very different. The chart only offers a place to start, and your starting dose should take that into account along with other factors, like your typical drug tolerance and the fact that T3 sometimes takes a little getting used to.
Business man2 1) At my age 69.5 and a daily dosage of 4 ibuprofen OR 3 naproxen, do I have to worry about kidney disease resulting from a "total lifetime dose" of ibuprofen/naproxen ?? 2) At recommended dosage and over a lifetime, does acetaminaphen have less potential to harm me than either ibuprofen or napproxen? 3) Is there a "total lifetime dose" concern for acetaminaphen? Thank you for answering questions in this forum !!
Avatar f tn Am I the only one on here taking 1,200 mgs of ribavirin, who is going thru Triple Tx? I keep noticing people mentioning lower dosages. I have heard of smaller people taking less, and I am 5'9'', 160 pounds, but I think my Doctor is prescribing this same amount for most of the people in my home group, that I've talked to.
